  1. Go the RF-63's for sure. They're significantly better than the RF-82, particularly the build quality. The 63's are certainly next on my agenda (I currently have the RF-35's).
  2. Well I finally bit the bullet and got myself the Sony VPL-HW10 Full HD projector. Wow, what a difference this has made to my home theater experience. I just can't believe how much better the Sony is compared to my old rig. Deep blacks, accurate colour and high rez. I watched one of the Harry Potter movies on HD DVD last night (my son's choice!!!) and I just sat there with a mile-wide smile! What's that saying?... 'like a kid with a new toy!' Somebody pinch me!
  3. Depends on what you listen to more - stereo or surround? If you want to improve your surround experience, go the RC64 for sure. IMO this will make a big improvement to your front soundstage. I was in a similar position with my Reference 35 surround setup. I changed my RC35 for the 64 and WOW!... what an improvement it made! The sound is so much more open and clear, particularly vocals. Of course I now want the RF63's as well!
  4. Youch!... $2,500 for RC-64! I got mine for well under half that price but it was one of the last in stock from previous Aust. distributor. My search for the 63's continue...
  5. Hey thanks for this DownUnder. Unfortunately the budget can't stretch this far at the moment. I'm actually looking at the 63's instead because they're considerably cheaper. Having said this, I'll need some luck to find a pair in Oz as no one seems to sell Klipsch anymore!
  6. Dude I say just do it! I also had the same front end speaker combo as you and then made the jump to the RC-64. The difference between the RC-35 and RC-64 is significant - the 64 is just so much more clear and detailed. I sit approx. 3 meters from my front speakers. I'm now trying to figure out how to get a pair of RF-63's to match!
  7. Also consider the RW-12d. It's powerful, clean and goes plenty deep.
  8. Congrats on your purchases. Yes the RW-12d is a beast and it is much bigger than it looks in the photos. I love my 12d and if I could get another one for $500... I would have two! Don't know if my loungeroom could handle it though!
  9. Actually he referred to the RC-52 which I believe has 5.25 inch drivers. []

    RC-64... wow!

Now if only I could get a pair of RF-83's (or 63's) in black... hmmm.

    RC-64... wow!

Youthman, yes the RC-64 should be a better sonic match for your RF-83's given it uses the same tweeter. However, it would be interesting find out whether the RC-64 actually sounds better than the RC-7. I was actually trying to find an RC-7 before I got the RC-64. I'm sure there must be a few forum members out there who have compared these centre speakers? Anyone care to comment?
  12. DTS was also supported and interestingly, audio was at 1.5mbs compared to the majority of DVD DTS releases being at 768kbs. In fact, I still whip out the ol' Jurassic Park DTS LD on the odd occasion for demo purposes because IMO the DTS audio on the LD is superior to the DVD version.
  13. I've read alot of recent posts about differences between the RC-64 and RC-62/RC-35. Well, I have previously owned an RC-35 and let me tell you that the 64 absolutely owns it! I was fortunate to pick mine up for a song (it was one of last new units available in Oz!) and I must admit that when I first got it, I wondered whether it would make that much difference. However, I can now say that the difference is significant. Where my RC-35 would often 'get lost' amongst my RF-35's, the RC-64 effortlessly keeps up! Vocals come through loud, smooth and clear. The RC-64 shares none of the 'boxiness' that I sometimes encountered with the RC-35. Yes I'm conscious about budget considerations but for anyone who is asking the question... Yes the RC-64 is well worth the upgrade. []
  14. Here's a shot of my humble set-up:

    RC-35 v RC-64

In any case, I've seen the finish on both RC-64 and RC-7 and IMHO looks way classier than the vinyl wrap on my 35's. I guess the ol' saying applies - you get what you pay for.

    RC-35 v RC-64

Thanks for the advice guys. I have heard that the RC-7 is a step-up in performance but finding one is the real trick! I can still get a brand new cherry RC-64 which will match (in colour) my RF-35's so it looks like the 64 is the way to go for me. As for RF-83's... I better start saving!
  17. Hi there! I'm new to this forum although I've been a Klipsh owner for a few years now. Anyways, I'm currently running a Reference 35 System and I'm thinking of upgrading my RC-35 centre channel to a RC-64. My question is, would I notice a significant improvement in performance by upgrading to the RC-64?
