I still don't understand why your center channel's trim is so high and would be curious what was the level that your Subwoofer had in comparison. Fwiw, if you are hearing it as higher there is a chance that it may be, although some people prefer to do that when their center channel is smaller than their mains. Again, if it sounds good I wouldn't change anything. The sub was at (-10) or (-10.5). It all sounds fine, but as you and I know, those are some wierd numbers. I was hoping to get to somewhere, to where I understood the numbers and maybe it would be a little better. It just possible my hearing is not the happiest, because I am only with one sub. I had two sub 12's with that setup before and loved the bass. My main systems has even larger subs, I'm just a basshead, but at no time do I have it setup to where the bass is overpowering the rest of the system.

I'm trying to figure a design where I can build two 12's in the bedroom. I sitll have one plate not in use and I would re-use the one I have in the 10in

checked with meter, and they all are at 70db's I did bump up my sub to 78db's Left and right are at (-8.5) center channel is at (-11.5) My bad, that's 3db, not 3.5db, I must have been looking at my surr left(-8.0), surr right(8.5) rear surrounds(9.5) I am using Transformers:DOTM and everything seems to blend well.

Kinda on another subject with the center, I’m surprised that my onkyo set the db levels so far apart from the towers, and not only how far apart but in which direction it went. I am use to seeing either the center and towers about the same or some put the center channel louder then the rest. As many times as I re-ran audyessy, it always has put the center channel 3.5db lower then the towers. So, far, I' not having any center channel dialog low issue, if anything it seem to be 3.5db higher then the towers

Hey guys, I have been messing with it in between watching the Lions game. I could not get the center to give any other hz then the 150. I changed a few things and it would not budge. I raised the center and titled it down. I was thinking maybe my headboard was causing some issues, so I piled pillows. I took things out of the room. I brought my towers out some, not as much as I think was suggested but out a about 6in All the settings pretty much changed each time except for the center. I even made sure that both woofers were working and yes they are. I changed my tower down to 50Hz and I’m kinda going back and forth with bringing the center down a little bit. It’s not that serious, especially as much as I have put into it today. It’s just my bedroom setup, It’s mainly for putting in a movie/streaming netflix and falling asleep too. Thanks for everyone support in this matter.

The center channel is pointed directly at the listening Position, I have a high bed. I also have it on the very edge so that I wouldnt get any reflection. I forgot to mention, I am using a boom, and not a tri-pod These are are some wierd numbers from my AVR. I am really suprised by the audio gap. Come to think about it, I wonder if I should raise the center and tilted it down some.

This is an older pic, the quintet center is in the photo. I have replaced it with the C2. This photo also shows the personal built subwoofer and Denon 789

@Mauro Lowering the xover will send less content to the sub where the MultEQ filters have 8x more resolution. Also, MultEQ will not apply correction to the main speakers below the roll off point that it measured. So, I would not recommend lowering it. http://ask.audyssey.com/forums/84181/entries/76175.html and also, I agree, that comparing the Onkyo 805 to the Denon 789 is not a fair comparison. I wasn't calling myself comparing those two. I have always loved the Onkyo 805 with whatever speakers I use. I do also love the Denon 789, just not with the Klipsch. Denon really made some older HTiB speakers sound fantastic.

My concern with changing the HZ on the center channel is having an audio hole, since audyessy set it to 150hz. My understanding from audyessy is, it is ok to turn the Hz up, but do not turn them down. Going from the 150hz to 80hz would give a big audio hole, and I really don't want one in the center channel. I also wasn’t sure if changing the tower from full to anything would cause that same hole.I thought it interesting that the quintets are at 90 instead of 120 myself. I did 6 of the spots with running audyessy. The sub is a personal built box, with a 10in woofer, it’s a sealed box and I am using an amp plate that goes to the Klipsch sub12.Long story on the personal built. I had two Kilpsch sub12’s, and I loved those guys. I decided I wanted to experiment with blending ported with sealed subs. I gotten two amp plates for this project. I had built the 10in enclosure, and it turned out ok at low volumes. Well before I could complete my project or start it, someone broke into my apartment and stole my HT. I replaced most and then moved out.Bought a house put my Klipsch stuff in the bedroom and bought Monitor Audio and SVS subs for my main, I just recently upgraded my Onkyo 805 with the Onkyo 5008 in the main, and now want to use the 805 in the bedroom with the Klipsch. I like the Klipsch/Onkyo combo better then with the Denon. Love the denon, just not with Klipsch.

I'm not sure if this is a audyessy question or speaker question In my bedroom, I switch out my Denon 789 for an Onkyo 805 Speakers: F2's C2 Quintet III's for surrounds Sub is a box built, but is using an Klipsch Sub12 amp plate When I run audyessy, it keeps making my C2 150hz, while the towers are full with the surrounds at 90hz. In the AVR, it set the LFE to 80hz. It does turn on the Double Bass, which is crap. I just don't get why it setting the Hz like it is and having those audio holes in it.
  12. I agree, that would be fine! I just want to add, the center channel from the quintet III's is not considered a C-1 Quintet center = 3.5in woofer C-1 = 4in woofer C-2 = 5.25in woofer C-3 = 6.5in woofer That is a interesting thought, I have a 5.1 in my bedroom and my Quintet III center is sitting in a drawer, I guess I could add that and make it a 6.1 or sell it.
  13. The Emotiva UPA 7 is 125w and it's 7 channels and on sale for $629
  14. Here is a fantastic deal, you can get the C3(which I have the F2's and a C3) for $179.88 which is cheaper then the C2 for $274.95. I'm not sure why the C3 is less then a C2. I know that Klipsch do not make the C3 anymore and that could be the reason for the lower price. http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/548208218/klipsch-c3?s_c=site_search

  16. This is kinda off subject, but If I were you I would get an AVR that will play HD audio. Your missing out on some fantastic sounds that is far better then broadcast TV.
  17. Your gain sounds fine or you may need to adjust depending on where you place the subs. Your X-over is not correct, You should have your receiver x-over set to 80Hz and on your subs turn them all the way up. Your receiver will be controlling the bass level that way and your opening up your subs for control.
  18. I have been wondering about a sealed and a ported subs playing together. How does it sound together? I have been planning on adding a sealed 10 inch to my current two Sub-12's. I have been thinking of adding this for awhile now, been too busy to really do it.
  19. I have no idea what im comparing here. Your asking is there something better/more eff. then what?
  20. I have heard of some people trying to match them together with complete happiness and other's who just can't get them to work together. I guess it would depend on your room setting and putting a sub-10 and sub-12 together. If you do try to work that out, I would ask that you not try to get the loudest possible setting. Putting 2 subs to work together is not for how hard or loud you can get them. Most people put 2 subs together to get a more smoothier bass tone and wider sweet spot in a room. I have 2 sub-12's and I have the db turned down in my amp and the volume level below 50% on each of the subs. If I wanted to shake the walls and vibrate things in the house, all I would need is 1 sub-12 for that. When my bass hits, My bass sounds so heavy. The bass is not overpowering any movie I watch.
  21. I'm not sure your asking the right question. The question your asking about "series or parallel" that's when you are connecting 2 or more subs together. What you need to find out is: What Ohm is that Amp? When you find out the Ohm's then you will know how to wire your woofer, since it's dual voice coil. You may not need to change anything, depending on the woofer or you may have to wire it down to 2ohm or up to 8ohm.
  22. I would wait and save for the second sub to be identical to the first. I have read articals saying it makes a difference and I have read where it didn't make a diffrence if the subs were different sizes or not. I have two Identical subs and I feel it's alot easier to set them up properly. I will be in the process of testing out different subs to see how it works. I want to add something different to see how it sounds. The person who is building my box asked if it would be ok if it wasnt ready on the day we agreed on. I'm not sure when I will get around to testing.
  23. I guess it would blow it out the water, it's twice the power of the ksw12..... lol The OP asked about the Sub-12 and the Sub-12 will blow the ksw12 away as well. Why would you compare something different then what the OP asked for?
  24. Hey carbon summit, I don't know anything about SPL meter. Hear lots of people using them, I just never have. I have both subs set to '0' on the phase. I believe if they were across the room from another then the phase would be oppsite.
  25. I have a few quote's from another forum I am on, this person and I talk alot about multiple subs "Unfortunately, most people are under the impression that two subwoofers are for creating louder bass. Although you can easily do that with two subwoofers, the idea of multiple subwoofers is about creating a smooth and even bass across the room and increase the sweet spot." "I am always surprised by people in other threads that have one subwoofer and make outrageous claims about their subwoofer and how it rattles and shakes the house and windows. Something tells me that they haven't positioned and calibrated their subs properly." "The function of a sub is not to shake the house and create earthquakes. The sub has the important function of creating low bass extension for movies and music. Sometime you may have to calibrate your subwoofer(s) differently for music and some movies." I agree with 100% of what this says. I don't have both my subs volume turned up, they are were less then 50% and recently I turned them just pst 50%. I also have the db turned down in my receiver. I know for sure If I turned the volume up on both the subs and then in my receiver 1 Sub-12 would be too much for my apt. That was NOT the level of bass I was looking for, but the way I have it set now is. Of course I want to experiment with mixing 1 or 2 sealed subs into the mix.
