If your wanting approx the same tune on a 5 cuft box it would be around 42hz, 2 3" X 5.5 will get you there. That is approx what your 5" long ports get you in the 5.4 Cuft box if you take off about .3 displacement for drivers etc. Might be more but just throwing it out there. WinISD is a good free program to use.

I could, shipping would be on the high side for sure add quit a bit. What would you consider off there? Only one I found that would fit my space and be a upgrade IMO (for the size/space) would be the 1099 which have been out of stock forever.

I actually measured today to see if any of the others will fit, it was late last night and didn't actually break out the tape. lol I can indeed "just" fit the width of the RF-7ii but the $6500 upgrade cost for the front 3 still wont fly with the wife. I can fit the RP-280F max so I will go have a look/listen to the RP-260F and see how those are go from there on those. Nope not in Canada, best price is $2200 a speaker plus tax. Looking at another rear ported large tower wouldn't make much sense. But, I don't see why it wouldn't fit. You're only looking at 1.5" deeper than your current speakers. Surely space isn't that tight. Yeah it's pretty tight. And the size will fit as I said on the RF-7 just not the cost. Here is where they would need to go, either side of the screen is AT cloth grills top to bottom. Don't mind the mess and the 15" has been sold off and been replaced by 2 JL 13W7 run off NU600DSP and one 12W7 run off a NU3000DSP.

Hmm good call on the size of the RP-280F, didn't realise it was that deep. Width isn't a issue with that one it's only 1" wider than the RF-35's I currently have, but 4" deeper might be a issue. I'll have to check. Not looking at going bookshelf already have RF-35's, we can't get the Palladiums here anyway.

Currently about $1360 ish, it's not a bad price. About $2150 USD for the front 3 RF series after taxes. Would be nice to be able to at least hear them. How much different are they form the RP-260F? Those are a stocing item.

So the RF-35's are on pare with the 82's and 82 II's ? Any better center channel to match with the 35's? The RC-35 is to me very limited. I talked to you about this, RC-7 right. Are the new RP-280f's good for HT, big soundstage? I can't even listen to those without ordering them in $1800 for the pair, 20% restocking fee if I don't like them. :/ Sucks to be in Canada.

Sorry, yes bad term to use I guess. I guess I mean what is your opinion (whoever answers) the next best for Home theater after the RF-7ii's. I reely liked them and I am sure they would be fantastic, just too large for my space and the $4400 for 2 fronts and $1750 for a center to match would be never pass the wifes OK.

What would be the next best Reference model to the RF-7ii's? Out of all the models out there new or used? I want to upgrade my front stage which is currently RF-35's and RC-35, bought those when they were first brought out. 100% HT Can't fit the RF-7ii's in the space I have and $4400 for 2 speakers is a no go with the wife. :/

Youthman, I wouldlove to leave my speakers "naked" but it would destract from the film experience so I have it all blacked out. There will be a door infront of my equipment cabinet soon, in matching fabric/framing. Great to here about the house, nothing like owning your own house. I bought my first one (townhouse) three years ago, sold it about 3 months ago and bought the house I have my theater in now. Your going to love doing whatever your wife lets you do to the new place. Thanks Youthman,I built a frame out of 1" square cedar and stretched GOM cloth over it. It's stapled on the rear and then velco on the cover, the main frame is covered with dense black carpet which works great as the other part of the velco. Clinton

Not quit the same but I have the Denon AVR-888 and I'm very happy with the sound. Mind you I just started into this venture (Home Theater) I still think it sounds amazing. I run a set of RF-35's RC35 and RS-42's with it and it was smooth sailing to setup with the audyssey mic, had to bump the sub output but that's just my taste I would think. The only issue I had with the Denon was the setup menu for the assignable inputs. I had to reread the manual a few times to get the hang of assigning the right video/audio source to the proper inputs. Once done it's working great, have a HD-DVD player, Sony PS3 and A HD PVR running off 2 HDMI and one Component in out to onw HDMI port to the projector. It scales the video nicely as well at 110". Anyone have an opinion onif there would be any differnce between these two? I have the RPW-10 right now but I have the option of returning it within the next week for the same price I can buy the RW-10 on sale right now. The specs say they are the same spl but the RW-10 seems to go lower? Any thoughts? Clinton

I just went through basically the same thing. Went from a Samsung HTIB to a set of book self Infinity setup to a Plok 5.1 setup then to the QuintetII's. These where all bought from BestBuy and returned within a few days of each. The Quintet's was pretty good but after going back to a differnt store with the Klipsch Refrence series and having a listen they went back. I now have a RF-35 setup and can't see having to buy anything better in the near future. They cost about 4 times the Quintet's but they were IMO worth the extra and the fact that I shouldn't have to upgrade and loose the $$ I sent on something that would maybe get me by. Just thought I'd throw a newbie opinion in the mix. Clinton

Finally got my new speakers all setup, have the RF-35's with RC-35 up front. Surrounds are RS-42's and bought the RSX-4's for the rear surrounds. Have the fronts and surrounds all setup but wanted opinions on how far back I can go with the rear surrounds? This is in a 10'X28' room, the surrounds are about half way which is where the seating is. Can the rear surrounds go on the back wall or is that to far? I have a drop ceiling so mounting will have to be fabricated if I go forward of the rear wall. Thanks for any opinions or info. Clinton

Went back again today to make a deal, listened to them all again, of course changed my mind again. The manager said he'd do the sale price on the RF-35's(was over on the 24'th) if I bought a full setup. So I ended up spending $1800 tax in, that's a $970 savings form there retail. I know we get hosed in Canada, but what do you do. So here's what I'll be picking up on Friday when the get them in store. RF-35's, RC-35 and a set of RS-42's. I'll be pushing those RS-42's the rear of the 7.1 in another month or 2 and geting a set of 52's. I'll post up some pics of my setup when I get the speakers all setup. Thanks again for the help. I'm going to pick up the RF-62's this week some time and I might opt out of the second set of ss.5's in favor of the RC-62. Do you guys think going 5.1 instead of the7.1 setup will be that much of a difference? I'm also going to try and get the guy to come down a bit since I'm buying a full setup, I hope 10%. Clinton

Thanks guys, yes I've listened to both and in the Glass cage they have them installed in it's hard to tell the difference. I thought the RF-35's sounded bright but that's kind of what I liked about the Klipsch. Those prices might seem a bit high but I'm in Canada and these are actually about 10% less than anywhere I've looke on my end of Canada. I really hate buying online so buying intown is tha only way to go. The RC62 is going for $629 so it ups the price pretty much out of my range, I had a hard time convincing th wife to go the full $1900, over $2000 would be a no go I believe. Hi to al, I currently have the QuintetIII setup and want to upgrade to the Reference series and I've got the go ahead from the wife. Right now the RF-35 and RC-35 combo is on sale in town for $1300, I would pair these with 4 synergy SS.5 surrounds for an additional $300. I have a Denon AVR-788 7.1 receiver to powerr then with. And the second option would be to go with the RF-62 fronts and RC-52 center for $1600 which would also be paired with the 4 SS.5 surrounds. Any opinions on if the RF-62's are worth the extra $300 or would the RF-35's with the 8's be a better option? This is going to be run in a dedicated theater room 10'X28' with a 110" screen, also have a Klipsch 10" powered sub to go with the system. Any help would be great as the deal for the 35's is over tonight. (just saw the add) Thanks. Clinton
