  1. He has a killer pair of monoblocks ... I tried them out on my big speakers, but they had waaaaaay too much gain for my system. That said, they were a quality build, and I would gladly welcome them into the listening room if I had the right speakers. Tim'a a stand up guy and a quality builder for sure.
  2. Bump for Joe and the Wauwatosa Tube Factory LA LUCI√ČRNAGA and the Stone Image Audio SUT. I was the former owner of both, and friends with the builders. Both are great pieces and punch well above their price point. I'd be happy to answer any questions about either, having used them in my system for a significant amount of time.
  3. Nope. I filed a missing package report, and the buyer is in the loop.
  4. Thanks, Joe. I did file a missing mail request today . And the buyer and I have been in constant contact to ork through this.
  5. I sold a cartridge to another forum member here and shipped it via USPS Priority Mail on February 12th. It shows that it moved through the USPS system once (in other words it left the origin post office and was scanned in at the next stop), but has since been at a standstill with no updates. What's the typical protocol in these situations? I'm not at fault for not shipping it, but feel bad that it hasn't made it to the buyer. That said, it could still make it, but the lag time is getting ridiculous. Any input would be appreciated ...
  6. Mmmm ... I'd love to try those alongside my Welborne Star Chief"s to see how they compare! I love my 45 amps! GLWS
  7. Bump, and a price drop to $365 shipped.
  8. Perfect shape with less than 50 hours use. Was deciding between this and the Zu Denon I just sold when I got a deal on a Soundsmith Zephyr that I always wanted. I'll cover PP fees and shipping in the CONUS. By the way, I've run an OC9/MLII and an AT33/PTG, and the OC9/III is probably my favorite of the 3. Definitely better than the OC9/MLII. I have more pics I can email, just ask.
  9. Damn, too slow. Congrats on the sale...
  10. I'd also consider a partial trade for a good MM or MC cartridge with plenty of life left.
  11. I went there as well ... still go up a couple times a year to help out at my fraternity house.
  12. The lift bridge between Houghton and Hancock in the UP of MI. One of my favorite places anywhere ... God's country.
  13. I picked up the Welborne Star Chiefs that were for sale here, purely based on the reviews I read about them. They're in my system now, and have a very similar sound to the Eaton amps. I'm a habitual system tweaker, so it's not unusual for me to make changes on a whim!
  14. Really nice pair of 45 monoblocks built by Alan Eaton. Good review on his stereo version here: http://glowinthedarkaudio.com/alan-eaton-se45.html. Sound excellent on my 97dB folded open baffle speakers. These were my first exposure to the 45 tube, and I'm sold. Point to point wiring, copper ground buss, Tamura OPTs ... a virtually identical pair recently sold on the auction site by the builder for $1400. See his description here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Single-ended-vintage-45-mono-block-tube-amplifiers-Tamura-output-transformers/184522957962?hash=item2af66ce48a:g:j6QAAOSwk4JfpInk. I am including a pair of National Union 45 tubes, 2 pairs of 6SN7 tubes and a pair of 6AX5GT tubes. I'm also including red and blue lamps (came with red, and I bought blue to match the rest of my system) and a brand new pair of Cardas CCBP-S brass speaker terminals (that cost me $80) that I was going to swap out for the stock terminals but never found the time to do. No power cords included. I will pick up UPS shipping costs to the CONUS. Amps will ship in two boxes. I am around until the 22nd, after that I won't be able to ship until the 28th or so. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability. I have a bunch of photos that I am happy to email to you ... just send me a PM with your email address. Amps (and me) are located in SE WI (Lake Geneva). Buyer is welcome to pick them up locally. Buyer to cover PP fees (3%).
  15. This was listed and then taken down a couple months back ... it's back on the market due to another amp purchase recently. Too many amps! Amp and power supply built by Wauwatosa Tube Factory in the Milwaukee area. This design utilizes an overbuilt power supply in a separate chassis, and can accept 6L6GC/6V6/KT88 output tubes. The amp has a toggle to switch between headphone and speaker mode, as well as an ultralinear/triode mode toggle. I have primarily used the amp for powering my 99dB efficient folded OBs, with great success. I have also run 6L6GC and KT88 tubes, and both are included in the sale price. I am completely happy with this amp, but have moved to 45 monoblocks and don't have the need to keep both. The links below give a thorough explanation of the design and build, along with pictures. If you have more specific questions I can go to the builder for more clarification, as i keep in regular contact with him. Both the amp and power supply look great and function perfectly. I'm not 100% sure of the output, but I believe it's 5-7 watts, depending on which mode you are in. By the way, the amp is very quiet, even on my sensitive speakers. No noise issues here at all. Also, I have more pics if you need them, just ask and I'll email them to you. https://imgur.com/a/W4sVe https://wtfamps.com/la-luciernaga-part-1-the-psu/ https://wtfamps.com/la-luciernaga-part-2-the-amp/ $1000 + actual shipping in the CONUS. I will likely pack them in separate boxes and then place them into one main box for shipping. Overall weight for the amp and power supply is ~30#. I expect shipping will probably cost $50 or so, if I had to guess, but will confirm prior to payment and shipment.
  16. This goes back a ways, but I believe it was based off the internal volume of the empty cabinet, sans drivers.
  17. I modded a pair of Forte IIs a while ago ... great project, and the speakers sounded really good. Link here ... might give you some ideas.
  18. I purchased this phono preamp from the original owner in March 2019. It is approximately 2 years old. Original listing here: https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649505525-rogue-audio-triton-phono/. Although I've tested it with a MM cartridge (Shure M97Xe), I have primarily used in with a MC cartridge, and with and without a SUT. I have used it with an AT33PTG/II, Zu Denon DL-103, and Denon DL-301 MK2, all with great success. The preamp is dead quiet on my 101dB sensitivity speakers. There are zero issues with it, functionally or cosmetically. I looked it over carefully and do not see any marks on it. It was used in a dedicated listening room, free from smoke, kids and pets. It will ship in the original packaging, which is definitely overkill! Paypal users add 3% to cover fees, please. Shipping will be charged at the actual rate, and the unit it packed up and ready to go. I will ship it the same or next day after receiving payment. Package size is 22" x 17" x 12" and it weighs ~20#. Will ship from 53147 on buyer's dime. I have a bunch of photos I can email to you, please ask. Let me know if you have any questions at all. The reason for sale is that I just built Roy Mottram's PH16 phono preamp, as I wanted to try an all-tube preamp (and needed a project). Includes: Original packaging, power cord and paperwork

I have more pics that were recently taken, but they are apparently too big to post here, so let me know if you want me to email them to you.
  20. Last price drop ... good deal on a solid phono preamp
