  1. Just a question - you say those are Bird's eye maple, did you have them re-veneered? The RF-7 came in a Blonde Maple but not Bird's eye. Bird's eye has little black dots in it and swirls almost like a burl wood. I'm asking this because I didn't see a close up of the side veneer but looking at it - it looks like regular Blonde Maple. Here's an expample of Birdseye Maple:

  2. Thank Greg at Volti Audio for that [;)]! He made the grill frames and I did the Zebrawood - I have come to love these speakers because I'm doing alot of the work on them myself (the upgrades ect). I'm actually becoming very attached to them [:D]

  3. Here's a quick shot of my HT. The main speakers are Klipsch Heresy I's with Bob Crites' upgrades and Volti Audio speaker grills. I'm going after the ALK Cornscala-Wall crossovers next...after I come from Axpona 2012 in Jacksonville Fl.

  4. I'm a Hopeful romantic (pun intended) - I buy Klipsch, but I don't buy new. I prefer the Original Klipsch Heritage line speakers to the new stuff. I just like repair parts to be available for these speakers. My speakers are over 30 years old and still going strong! Buying new just for the sake of it being new is just...dumb, especially with something as suggestive as high-end audio (Trade in a pair of 40year old Khorns for some new RF-83's - I don't think so, or even better yet - Trade old Khorns for new ones - when the old ones were built solid as a rock - as well as the new ones....doesn't make sense). 5. I built a client a Bluray capable desktop for under $520.00. That's including a 2TB harddrive and 16GB of ram! She loves it! (She mainly uses it for photography and Photoshop CS). It can be done - I started out with BD for computer before I even bought a standalone. I'm a mod over at Bluray.com, and I have enjoyed my HTPC for about 6 years now ;)! I just added a HDHR3 HomeRun Prime to my system and returned all of my HDDVR's. Software is important but if you're going after the top of the line Oppo - a good HTPC can compete.
