Go with the Emotiva xpa-. Plenty of power and is a good price. I love my xpa-2 and xpa-5! You wont regret it!!!!

Thanks, for all the input guys. I am leaning towards the 906 myself. I am trying to find a good deal on one now the best I found so far was $1455.00 Let me know if you guys see it for less anywhere. Keep your thoughts coming! I need a switched outlet or two on the back to trigger my amps so I do not loose my 7.1 set up if I use the 12v trigger on the Onkyo 706 that I am using now.

I am looking for some input on what you guys think is the better receiver? And Why? Is the THX certification important or not? Mostly watch movies with my set up but also listen to music about 80/20. If you have either of these or know about them your comments would be very helpful.

I feel your pain!! I had to go through 3 RC 64 before I got one not damaged by UPS. The seller was Fantastic in dealing with the problem and even 2nd day air shipped one so I would get it on Christmas Eve. Unfortunatly, that one was also damaged by UPS!! Each Time I called the seller and told them of the damage they immediatly shipped a new one without waiting for my damaged return. They never questioned me or wanted to see photos of damage. The third one they sent they paid for a freight carrier to handle it and I got that one on New Years Eve at 7:00pm. World Wide Stereo was one of the best on line retailers I have ever delt with. I can not say enough good about them If you are in that market to buy, check them out!!!! You wont regret it, I didn't! They are an authorized Klipsch dealer and are on the Klipsch website dealer page. They have some great deals going on as well. Good luck with the return and I hope you can get one undamaged by the shipping companies.

I was the one who let the cat out of the bag about the RF and RC cherry's being discontinued. I also will tell you guys that www.wwstereo.com an online authorized dealer has the last of them for $599.00 on sale. So if you want one you better hurry. They are a great company to deal with. Once they are gone that is it for the new ones and yuo will have to buy used stuff.

The Authorized online dealer I bought from was www.wwstereo.com They were great to deal with and the price was great too. Youthman, you may want to check them out. I know they bought up the last of the RC64's in Cherry and they have them on sale for $599.99 So if you want Cherry you may waant to get one and delay the projector alittle. If you can save some cash and get exactly what you want, yoou may want to do it.

I had Bose, bought them about 15-20 yrs ago. I got them because they were so small and easy to hide unlike my current RF speakers. When I bought them they served their purpose. But Now 20yrs later I wanted better sound and quality that is why I came in here! When I was young the bose cost me about a grand for 5.1. Dont even ask about my current set up but it was more than a grand. You get what you pay for, back then a grand was a lot of money, heck who am I kidding it still is today, but you just buy less with it. I love my current set up now except I think I will upgrade my receiver so I can trigger my Emotiva amps and keep my 7.1. Thinking about Denon or pioneer elite any recommendations about brands or model numbers??? By the way I love the amps the sound has authority, crisp and good defenition. well worth the money. My speakers ROCK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

InVeNtOR that was not directed at you. I was mad that we discovered the receiver was not set up that way. Sorry if you took that wrong.

Ok I turned act back on and when I press the zone 2 on the remote it lights up for a few seconds and it does not turn on zone 2 on the receiverr and the rears did not turn off either[^o)]

It does not have an outlet and it does not have a removable iec cord.[8o|]

When I quick tesxted the XPA 5 with my set up it never powered the amp on so I turned it on I waited about 1 min. If you can look at page 97 and 98 in the onkyo 706 manual it explains it but confuses me. You may be able to view rthe downloadable manual on the onkyo site. I will try and find it.

Oh Boy, When I am in hardware my choice is act. or not act. there is no choice for rear surrounds!!!! I have act. selected now but I have zone to off. when I turn it on i loose my rears.

I wonder if the 900 is the same as 706. I 12v trigger for zone 2? When I turned on my zone 2 I lost the rears on my 7.1

Thanks again Rich_guyI am trying to verify what you are saying also in an Onkyo forum as well. You are correct, I do not have a switched outlet that I can plug the amps into so I need the trigger to work with out loosing any speakers. What receiver do you have? I am still trying to figure out the harmony one remote and program it to activate the trigger.
