I'm also curious about using tubes on the highs and SS on the bottoms of the 7's. Any suggestions on the tube amps for the top end?

Is that Will Farrell in the middle getting ready to do another movie? When Sonata Arctica played at the Masquerade their was a really small crowd, it was only about 15 degrees outside and we waited in line for a while but it was an awesome show.
Yup, got that base covered as well! (boy, you can difinitely see my Northern European roots in that one!)
I've seen them five times now - actually became quite good friends with the band in the process. I just saw thier brand new album, The Days of Grays, on eMusic, which I am downloading right now (will then upload to my music server). Will have to do until I get a copy of the CD, but I am dying to hear this (only heard that one track on YouTube and the samples on eMusic). Sonata Arctica is currently one of my most favorite bands. I am so hoping and praying they come around and play at Jaxx again.

That's got to be sick I've run my rsw 15 with my velodyne 1512 and 2 10's in the RP 3's with rf 7's and it was overwhelming. Are you running everything through the subs and utilizing their crossovers? I'm not, just using the crossover controls in my onkyo to adjust what goes to the rf 7's. What have you found works best? Two 15" Velodyne subs stacked and two SVS PB-12 Ultra/2 subs stacked.....in stereo.....with four RF-7's. Sooo, "Quad" stereo I guess you could say.
Headroom up the ying yang.

I hope that this will be my first. Anyone else from NE Ohio or Western Pa. looking to go?

I'm sure forum members will be reading your posts for years to come. They've helped me in the last year! Thanks Michael.

I ran a dual center on the sides of a big screen and it worked great. At the time I was running 2 RB61's as centers. Just a thought. I actually thought about doing it with 2 RC 7's in my current set up, just have to find another 7.

I haven't heard the Velodyne DD's, so I don't have an opinion as my Velodyne is an older 1512. I have listened to the Klipsch RT's and IMO, they don't hold a candle to the RSW's and as stated many times, today at least 3 or 4, I love my RSW 15, but it's all about what you like, not me or anyone else on the forum. Good hunting!

I love my RSW 15 and think that in my listening/home theater room, it works brilliantly. I have listened to it and have owned a few others and auditioned SVS and also have a Velodyne and the RSW is the one that works for me. At the end of the day, it's all about you and when you turn it on and say to yourself, damn, that sounds good. I'm biased and I think it looks great too, but I have a ton of copper cones staring at me from every direction. I picked mine up, in pristine condition for $600, and short of it puking in the future, have no desire to look at anything else.

I can tell I'm going to need a bigger house as the sickness is just going to get worse.

SABA is a German company that I believe started producing tube table radios and other audio equipment in the 50's and built some very nice receivers in the 70's and early 80's that some limited gear was imported to the U.S. I can find tons of it in Germany, and some other European nations, but having trouble locating what I want here. Just wondered if you've ever seen any. Thanks Ryan, Your's is a nice clean look and I'm actuall in the process of doing a remodle that will have a similar look to yours. Do you ever see any SABA HiFi gear where you live?
Pete
What do you mean with ''SABA HiFi gear '' ?? I don't understand that.

I've read through much of this thread and was wondering (for those of us that are not as educated in electronics and don't understand everything that is being said) is there a simple list of good, better and best as far as choices for cables? I understand the system dependant comments, but for those of us that are not going to be able to test as many different applications.

I'll check it out and thanks. Seems to be an opportunity in this field, based on the limited number of people out there.

That there's funny, I don't care who you are. LMAOHello fellow members , i am in a bind, i have a AR D125amp , krell preamp and cd player and originally pair of klipschorns. i recently bought a pair of kappa 9's on a whim...i am now deciding what to do, the ar amp will have to go not strong enough to run the kappa 9;s , hmmmmmmmmm, i love the klipsch but the sound of the kappa 9, should i stick with the klipschorns. anyone out the ever decided to sell their k-horns and decide later , no keep them........
selling khorns is like getting a vasectomy.
yes, it is possible to reverse your error. but it is painful and costly.

I'll sneak in here with a pair of RF 35's, I got a great deal on them but already owned RF 7's and a few more sets of towers so to be honest, I haven't given them the proper listen and they've been part of a HT set up. You have inspired me to start a thread on the RP line which I own the 3's and 5's and for stand alone towers they do an incredible job.

Welcome to the group. I've been on for about a year and what a wealth of information and some really great people. I hit the CL in my area and wish that I could find some scores but NE Ohio seems to be a little lean on the Heritage equipment.

I had an Onkyo TX-SR805. Absolutely awesome for home theater.
I still have one and have 0 complaints for home theater. I think I paid 600 for a refurb with 1 year warranty.

In your price range you can find an RSW 15 and bring the walls down on home theater or turn it down to match the output of your other speakers and listen to some very fine bass. I absolutely love mine!

I have a brand new one in black that I purchased, took out of the original box and played it for a week prior to obtaining an RC 7 to match my towers. I haven't thought about selling it, I just packaged it back up, but if you want to make me an reasonable offer I'm listening.

I take it you're checking e-bay on a regular basis. You will see them from time to time, in fact I believe one just finished about a week ago.
