  1. Anyone remember when the Zenith 19 inch color television was considered the best of the best and sold for almost $400 many years ago? I still have mine and it still works but is not being used. Quality built in the USA.

My mother raised my brother and me on a waitresses salary.  Not a lot of money to throw around, but she bought one of the first Zeniths.  She loved her TV.  It was tough to keep working back then.  Had a repairman out about twice a year.

  2. Mornin' all. Looks like another pretty day. Have to see the eye doc later on for a 'floater' in my right eye. Supposedly common for old farts. They can be serious or not and this one doesn't seem to be a big deal so hoping for an easy fix. Planning on meeting up with some friends afterwards.

Have a great day and will try to check back later. Cheers.

I had floaters for a while.  They went away when I started jogging.  I think I shook them all loose and now they're piled up at the bottom of my eyeball.

  3. Doctors generally are only able to diagnose as well as you are able to describe your symptoms.   I've been lucky in that my doctors have been good.  I credit my current doctor with recognizing a symptom I came into his office with in diagnosing a serious problem.  He saved my life.  Most doctors are good.  Most cops are good.  Most people are good.  It's too bad we form opinions on a group based on the actions of a few.

  4. I don't see how any speaker is designed for center channel use minus the fact it's layed sideways.

Well....Depends who does the design.   I had considered laying a stock lascala on it's side or an academy.  bobdog talked me out of the academy and other inputs from this forum talked me out of the sleeping lascala.
  5. I have the 8000.  I've never done a side by side.  All I know is that I can see individual blades of grass when watching football.  F1 is art in motion.  Movies are beautiful. I've run with some lights on and its ok, but I generally run in Bat Cave Mode.  The projector is 24 ft back on a 117" diagonal screen projecting through a hole in the wall.  I had to cheat a bit to get the pic to shrink to fit.   I've never done a pro calibration.  If i get within a few inches of the screen there is less than a pixel offset of colors.  This is unobservable from my seating location 10 ft back.  As I don't own a 3D capable reciever, I've never run a 3D movie.  That is my simple, user based review of a projector I'm extremely happy with.

  6. The hardest part of repairing many things is having the courage to take a screw driver and open up the box.  After that it's usually becomes apparent on what's necessary to make a repair.  Based on the pictures, access is probably through the motor board (front panel) though there might be screws on the exterior of the cup.  Hard to really see clearly.  Use the appropriate screw driver, open it up and just take a look.  There will probably be tabs on the defective cup and replacement cup that will give you clues on how it's attached.  As CECAA850 said, pay attention to the polarity of the wires.   Call customer service if you have questions.

  7. I thought tigerwoodsKhorns was asking where I was in relation to the ad.  The ad says Heber, Utah.  I'm 20 miles from Heber in Francis (both east of Park City).  My bad as I assumed tigerswoodsKhorns was somewhat familiar with Heber and the surrounding area.
