For a "project" that you don't want, that will take a lot of your time, that will cost you more money, and that MAY cause your divorce, I'd offer $400 and not go any higher.
Go ahead and pay $500 if you REALLY are wanting this divorce project. That's because your wife is likely smarter than you, and she knows once you have fixed these things up and they sound great and look great, you won't want to sell them.

No affilliation. Pretty beat up. My wife might accept the project if I swear to resell. I might make an offer tomorrow if they haven't sold. Not sure how low to go, but they do need a lot of work.

I have a GFCI outlet in the garage serving 5 outlets all inside serving freezer, fridge, low voltage lighting and sprinklers. The protection trips in random fashion even when nothing is plugged in. I see no evidence of water intrusion but it has happened yesterday and today a lot when it has rained but I seem to remember that it does it when dry as well. Sometimes it will re-set immediately and sometimes not for an hour or so. I have not put any nails or screws in the walls. Other than a faulty GFCI mechanism at outlet do y'all have any other thoughts how to troubleshoot?
I'll carefully wade in here. Should the freezer and fridge be on the same circuit. Is there a chance that if both the freezer and the fridge compressors both kick on at the same time it could be overloading the GFCI? That would appear to be a random event. Just my $.02.

So thanks to G.Zim's photos and modifying the plans I had, I built a pair a bass bins for the tops I've had for about 5 years. Just not fully finished on the outside. Sound pretty good, but I know I'll have to rebuild the crossovers. When I first hooked the first speaker up I got nothing but the squawker. No 3A fuse. Installed a fuse and still nothing so I started disassembly of the top unit. During this process the bass started working intermittently. Just flexing some wires inside and reinstalling the bass wires to the crossover helped to the point that the bass operates, but did cut out one time while I started to close the top up. I'll rewire when I rebuild the crossover. Heck, the problem may be the crossover as I then noticed the tweeter was not working. I did replaced the tweeter and now the speaker works. I thought the tweeter was good when I replaced the one that was in when I bought it as the original measured open and the removed tweeter still measures good. I'll figure that out later. I changed the tweeter in the second speaker before checking it out and upon hookup it worked.
I know I owe some pictures of this and I'll get around to posting what pictures I did take. The speakers won't be candidates for a beauty contest as their fate is to be used in my garage man cave. At least I've resurrected the tops to be functioning with bass bins.
Question to the forum: Are the diaphragms on ebay worth installing on failed tweeters? I know Bob Crites doesn't like them, but is it better to get a tweeter working with them than to trash the tweeter? I already know that half the responses will say abandon the the K-77 and that might be the way to go. Just curious if any of you have experience and knowledge on the subject.

Geez. I sold a pair in good cosmetic condition for $400. That clown has that pair way overpriced. I would pay $1,800 for a pair of Klipschorns
Actually a pair of horns sold very quickly earlier this week on that Site for $1500-1600.

Nice looking unit.
However, I'm always amused when a seller says "its an easy fix" whenever a repair is needed....
It would be "nicer" if the dust cover was with it. The take up reel problem is usually a belt. Not a "hard" fix, but it does involve a lot of disassembly and reassembly. Instructions are on the interweb.

I picked up a non-working Akai a couple of years ago for $30. $40 for parts and a bit of a learning curve and I've got a decent deck. Parts are available from a couple of sources. Quite often it's just a belt, demag and some lube. I pick up some tapes off of ebay occasionally, but honestly I don't use it all that often. Kind of a nice conversation piece and the grandkids look at it like the antique it is:)

I'm looking for a picture or diagram from the rear side of an LSI Split. Particularly where the connectors are located. I'm building a set and while I'm not trying clone exact copies, I'd like to have something close. I'd like some picts of the handles also if possible.

For my living room, I added a set of Quintets and a woofer. The Quints are small, but a significant improvement over the tv system. I like the setup and it has WAF. YMMV.

I really like to smoke ribs. I've got one of the large grills with gas, charcoal and smoke chamber. Love the versatility. I rarely use the gas. It's mainly for quick fixin' stuff and sometimes finishing after smoking several hours. I prefer charcoal for grilling steaks, hamburger. Better flavor, IMHO.

Thinking about it. I've been thinking of building bottoms for the tops I acquired several year back. Driving over to bowl in Nationals 7-10 July. Too far to drive the bronco. I'll have to measure the back seat of my car.

I would not use solid 3/4" wood glued to the plywood. Too much expansion/contraction with the weather. Odds are that you would end up with some distortion of the cabinet or cracks. Most large slabs of woods, such as table tops are mounted to allow for expansion/contraction. For beefing up the sides, you are trying to increase the mass of the wood, so allowing for changes in the wood is not practical. The proper way to add solid wood to the existing plywood would be to add the same thickness of veneer to both sides and the thickness limited to 1/8" or so. I know a lot of mods are made with thin veneer and thin ply glued to the sides and that seems to hold up due to the strength of the cabinet and the stability of the thin plys, but adding solid 3/4" is inviting problems IMO.

Bobdog, Thanks for the appraisal on the LSs. Agree, it's also just plain bad form to "alert" a seller. Quite frankly, I think I'll wait a few days and if they don't sell I'll see if the wife will let me take them on as a project. Lemme see, landscaping the yard, laying a laminate floor for the wife's craftroom, finishing the wood model truck and trailer, don't forget the bass bins for the LSI tops, re-capping the Lascala's in the theatre room. What's one more project. I'm fortunate to have a large shop, so I'm leaning toward going for them.
I added a clone Academy (all factory parts) to the one you sold me and recently scored a pair from up in Cache Valley so I'll soon have 7.1. Four Academy surrounds for about $700, yours being the most costly
Oh, yeah. Add some shelves for the two new Academys. The guy up in Cache Valley knew the worth, he was just hungry and had found the Academys at a garage sale for very cheap. I've really enjoyed it and sorry for your regrets. I remember you telling me that you didn't think that it would work as a center channel. I took your advice and also built my squating Lascala for the center channel. That guy in Cache Valley had one more Academy that had a few cosmetic blemishes. You could probably talk him down from the $200 he was asking.

They look like they've had better days. They're a bit beat and the seller acknowledges that one tweeter doesn't work.

I've got four now and a squat center channel. Anudder pair would fit in the man cave / shop, but it would be pushing things. I'd need to buy low, restore and make a buck or two for it to be acceptable. We'll see if they sell in the next day or two.
