  1. anyone know where to get an XLR splitter? search monoprice but didn't see any. thanks
  2. i take that back......... had some buddies came over last night, and decided to crank the amp up a bit....and BIG difference... listened to the Eagles Farewell Tour again, and i noticed bass was a lot tighter and smoother. clarity on instruments was much better, and i also hear a big improvement in soundstage.... guess i have to listen a bit louder from now on.... Edit: no sure the improvment was purely on the amp, since i got also got the Integra 9.9, and upraded the crossovers. perhaps, it's a combination of all things.
  3. did the factory reset, change the rca cable, turn the sub on.... i now have sound on the sub with speaker test....however, sub tone is TOO LOW!!! and i already turned the vol on the sub to max and boosted sub gain on the 9.9 to +6db. i'll try to switch back to the bigger sub rca cable and see if that make a difference.
  4. yea, i plan on doing a full reset on the integra 9.9 today and switched out the rca cable. also, the sub is Emotiva Ultra 10.
  5. thanks, i will try the suggestions today and report back. i don't have an XLR cable available, so wouldn't be able to test that connection. what trouble me is that even doing the speaker test tones, i got so sound out of the sub.
  6. the sub is connected directly to the AC outlet.........i did look over the manual. i am wondering if there's any set up for XLR vs RCA preout. the 9.9 has sub preout both for RCA and XLR, and since i am using RCA instead of XLR, do i need to change any settings....didn't see anything in the manual.
  7. ran into a little problem with the integra 9.9.... i just notice that the sub is not working last night when i throw in a movie, been listening to music most of the times... oit seems the sub got a signal from the processor (lights lit up), but no sound. i check speaker set up to make sure sub is set to yes and fronts crossed at 60hz.... even doing an speaker sound test, not sound from sub. the sub was working peferectly with the onkyo 805. subwoofer preout dead maybe?
  8. thanks guys, so much good information.... @Wm McD, wow...i am going to print that and stickied it. HOWEVER, would you be kind enough and list the exact parts/brands of the materials mentioned? again, sorry i have no clue with these things....thanks so much
  9. CS-2s? i have heard of CS-1 and CS-1.5...... and thanks for the link......
  10. how do you tell the difference between lacquer and oil? also, how do you spot a clear coat? sorry, i really don't know anything about this.... i guess this stain just look too dark/old??? i light it to look a bit lighter, and shine a bit.....
  11. here are a few pics after applying the lemon oil last night..... is this oak, walnut, or something else? thanks
  12. the more i looked into this, the more confusing it gets.... lemon oil, tung oil, watcho, varninsh?...... this isn't rocket science....or maybe it is........... [*-)]
  13. thanks peter, i keep hearing about this steel wool, but what is it exactly? and where can i get some. for sanding, 180-220 grit ok? i think i have some laying around....
  14. been googling for days but couldn't any information on biy threads for the crites CS-1...anyone aware of any existing build info?
  15. @Bill, yes i did noticed the grain coming out a bit after the applying the lemon oil. @silver, thanks, i'll give the Howard stuff a try....
  16. i think it's oil. herhaps walnut, or dark walnut.
  17. they had been stained by the previous owner....
  18. i see some pics of cornwalls in here that look really nice....bright and shiny.... last night, i applied some old english lemon oil on them but it didn't seem to do much...what do i need to do?
  19. thanks, look forwards to the pics. i don't have heresy. i was looking for a pair for my center and surrounds, but think i might go the CS-1 route if it's something i can manage (woodwork wise).
  20. might as well go for 5x CS-1.5s to match your LS's. i am very interested in the CS-1 and looking into it for my CWs.
  21. thanks, do you know of any diy thread? i am a complete amatuer in woodwork, so details are much needed to see if it's something i can do on my own. also, do you glue the wood together or nail them? which nail/glue?
  22. looking at the 2 designs, i am probably more interested in the CS1 vs CS1.5, since i wouldn't really need the extended base, and the smaller cabinet. what did you use for your cab? 3/4" birch plywood?
  23. thanks....saw your review on the UPA-7 that lead me to this thread. i was looking for heresey's to complete by surrounds, but this seems like a more desirable alternatives (though a little pricey). how would you rate these vs heresy. major differences?
  24. awesome...do you have a build thread? how much does it cost to build 1?
  25. same feelings that i have. at least, it's still a great amp to look at. lol
