and not to add fuel to the fire or anything, he he, you really need to listen to the different bitrates on a decent set of headphones. don't get me wrong, i'd throw myself in front of a mack truck to save my 4.1's, but my sennheiser hd545's can DEFINETLY pick up the difference between a 128 bit and 320 bit song, the quality just isn't there on mid to high end cans like the 545's. now on the 600's, the difference is like night and day, like telephone and SACD. once again, ymmv. i would recommend a slow, soft voice/instrumental song cause it will be much easier to pick out the distortions in a solo voice or instrument. creed and fuel and the lot of rock has too much intrumentation and stuff (don't get me wrong, fuel rocks, but it is just not a good quality test in my opinion, but ymmv). try Fisher - I Will Love You. ok, wierd. damn philips people. i think i solved it amy, but i think its a soundcard issue with the rear right channel. i don't hear the clicking in any other source (e.g. winamp mp3's cd audio, etc..) i only hear it when i open the Philips Acoustic Edge Control Panel. On the last tab they have a speaker channel test that sends a tada kinda wav to each channel to make sure the speakers are hooked up properly. for some reason, only when i play that system wav test do i hear the clicking. when i play everything else, to make sure i wasn't going crazy, i faded the two front speakers and balanced only to the rear right speaker, so all i had was audio coming from the sub and rear right sat. go figure, i guess the philips people need some more work with those drivers, as most of us have already uncovered. On an OT note, whoever said the 4.1's + AE have no bass is a friggin liar and a half or has some other system problem, because oh my god do i have bass. BRINGIN' THE DORM DOWN BABY!!!!!!
