  1. The difference between KLIPSCH and any other speaker is music. KLIPSCH sounds like music. Any other speakers sound like speakers.
  2. This may sound a little like Quad, but I think It is a little bit different. We are all familiar with the various types of surround, but what would a recording sound like if you placed the speakers in a line as if they were performers on a stage? Make a 4 track recording of two guitars, bass, and drums. Then use four LA SCALAS, one for each track and place them on a stage. Would you get a reasonable illusion of a four piece band? If anyone has ever done this, let us know how it turned out.
  3. Phil, You mentioned 5 channel music. Read about it in Sound&Vision but have not heard it. Is it as good as I hope it is? Iam a huge fan of Neil Young and he seems to think it is the hottest thing since sliced bread. Ithink he is approaching it the right way. The front three channels being the band and the rears being audience and room ambience,
  4. My Kenwood receiver manual says that the rear speakers should be flush against the wall firing toward the center of the room. Ihave my Heresys toed in at 45 degrees. Which way is sonicly accurate?
  5. Thanx to Bill Clinton and his economic recovery alot of people who could not afford Klipsch now may very well own some.
  6. Mr Blorry, Sorry about not getting your name right
  7. Mr. Blurry Check out "Carwheels On A Gravel Road" by Lucinda Williams. TURN IT UP REAL LOUDDDDDDDDDDDDDD, and you and your whole neighborhood will be in Klipsch paradise.
  8. EQS? Throw them away! Set every thing flat and let the big dogs eat. The performance was EQed in recording. It is how the artist intends it to sound. At a flat response it is how the artist entends to sound in your room. If you dont like it,change the room.
  9. We bought our HERESY speakers new in 1978.We bought our LASCALAS used over two years ago from a recently widowed friend. The serial # for my lrft speaker is 2M416. the #s are concurrent but I am too lazy to turn the other one around at the moment. Can one tell by this # what vintage the speakers are?
  10. So sorry about the typo. Thats a RC-3 not RC-7.
  11. With LaScala fronts,Heresy rears and RC-7 center, should the center n surrounds be set to normal or large?
  12. I have La Scala fronts RC3 center and Heresys rears. My Kenwood receiver has a pink noise generator for balancing sound levels. When I get them equal and start a movie it seems I always to adjust the center and rears. Usually I have to turn the center down. My question is should I set the levels and leave them alone, and accept the fact that the sound engineer is correct or am I forced to tinker with the sound during the movie and not be able to sit back and enjoy it? Is the sound levels standardized or all sound tracks different? Does anyone else have these problems or am Ibonkers?
  13. I have Dish Network.I beleive you must have The Dish500 receiver to get 5.1. Otherwise it is Dolby Surround or Pro Logic. The CRANK IT UP feature on Fox is the coolest. This can really thunder. Long live NASCAR and Klipsch.
  14. I went to a great deal of trouble to find adequate stands for my Heresys. I found some unfinished bar stools at Wal-Mart that work just fine. They are 22 inches high and plenty sturdy.
  15. I have many questions concerning setting up and tweeking my ht. I have La Scala fronts, Heresy rears, and RC-3 center.I do not understand why some good folks say that the RC-3 cannot keep up with the La Scaias. It seems many times I have to turn thr center down. Which raises many questions. Should I set up the system using the pink noise generator and leave it alone,or must I tweek the spl for each movie? For music should I use the center? This is when the center sounds too loud and unrealistic. Please help me.
  16. I love my Klipsch ht. I love NASCAR. Check out the NASCAR races on Fox with their new CRANK IT UP feature. I have a NASCAR Heat pc game. It has a Klipsch sponsored car. Can anyone tell me anything about this?
