  1. i heard the 62's in the store, and i didnt like them much. i prefer the 82's that i bought and will be eventually upgrading to 83's. the 82's sounded more fuller to me, the audio had more body. if you get the 82's, your setup will be nearly identical to mine [] And what do you mean by either format discs?
  2. When my RF-83's come in, will my rc62 need to be traded for the rc-64? Right now as it is, the audesey sets it really low to begin with, so it can definately get much louder... so im thinking maybe i dont need the rc-64? ??? [:^)][*-)]
  3. thats pretty good... very good in fact. the 52's are 312 a peice for the B stock, and to pick up a brand new pair for 250 a peice semed too delicious to pass up, if i could have got a deal like u did, that would have been steller
  4. well those are some pretty stout speakers... have you tried hooking simular or smaller speakers up to test if its the speakers causing the problem? from the way you make it sound, it seems like they are making the amplifier werk very hard.
  5. This efficient high quality system of mines makes my mp3's sound low quality. Most of my music is 192-320 bit rate. Is there anyway to improve the listening quality?
  6. looks really nice. i have a pair i have cumming for surround back. they look a little beefy and very well placed. good job
  7. I bought those exact mounts for my RS-52 speakers as well. They are still sitting in the boxes, but soon enough I'll have it up and running. who sells them, doesnt seem like there are many resellers of that product
  8. What's a good price on a pair of em
  9. you know what guys, i have to say this one more time.,... HANDCOCK!!!!
  10. I picked up a pair of RS-52's NIB for 499.96. Did i get a good deal?
  11. thanks. ill give em a listen if i can find em
  12. What's so good about the haritage speakers. They are big ofcorse, but what makes them so great or preferable. If im looking at specs, in my understanding, they arent all that powerful, yet they are so big. And... they take up a lot of space as opposed to something like the RF-83... im just curious, can someone put me out of my misery? what am i missing here?
  13. how can i get my hands on a demo disk?
  14. HANDCOCKS opening scene was awesome too! dont forget that one... the incredible hulk.... talk about LFE
  15. So I did hook it up right? I did wat it said to do on page 38. I only notice that its clearer at ear bleed levels. Is that normal?
  16. im doing it the way that Marantz say do it on page 38 of their manual... http://us.marantz.com/DFU_SR7002_SR8002_final_eng.pdf maybe you can tell me how thats different from how your doing it [*-)] the only differnce im seeing between what marantz consider bi-wiring and bi-amping is that i can get louder and not distort as soon when im bi-amping. but i dont really know all the active/passive stuff your talking about.
  17. First impression of bi-amping is not different then that of bi-wiring... but I have not given it a full test because its night and i might wake up the neighbors. But what I have noticed so far is it sounds very simular to bi-wiring at low volume levels (lower than -20... about -22 is a decent night time sweet spot in my crib, otherwise i vibrate the walls). Now tomarrow when the neighbor goes to work, ill be able to turn it up and compare it to the system bi-wired and see if i can tell if there is a performance gain at loud volumes where i enjoy listenting to music (near ear bleed level). But right now, at medium to low volumes, i dont notice an audible difference at all. However, there is a difference when not biwiring or bi-amping. The sound of the music is very different as mentioned before in my bi-wire thread. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/121216.aspx
  18. the x-files: i want to believe sounded real good.

    Bi-Wire

welll i dont notice it with vocal audio... but when im playing music, its substantially clear. i retested it the other day like i posted earlier. i tested it with the same songs bi-wire and no bi-wire and there is a definate difference. im going to try bi amping tonight to see if i notice even more improvement. my surrounds arnt here yet, and the hamon kardon surrounds i was temporarily using just got put in the work out room, so now i wont have surround until my rs-52's and rsx-5's come in next week and my broken pioneer bluray gets fixed. so its the perfect time to try biamping because i got nothing better to do with my time. :-/ i will post results [] a work in progress
  20. Yes, I agree it does look very cool and most likely it would be very unique among your friends. No, the harmony does not connect with Itunes. If that feature is worth a $1000+ dollars to you then that may be the remote for you. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Apple TV do what you are asking (syncing Itunes, etc.) as a media server for only around $200? To me, that would seem the more practical allocation of my resources. ive got a media center extender, ive got a samsung tv that does it... and neither work well at all. and i dont use either. the tv wont connect to the PC half the time through wise link, and the media center extent disconnects and resets itself to ground zero all the time, i cant keep a play list on it for nothing. that apple tv you mentioned might be something ill look into... but soon as i read that description of the mx6000, i felt a chil go down my back... or like chris mathews... i felt a thrill crawl up my leg. thanks for recommending it, ill check it out

Would you describe the difference you hear as a large effect or a small effect? And do you think you'd be able to identify the difference without knowing how it was wired? I don't ask to be argumentative or criticize or whatever....I would be very impressed by someone that could identify the difference with blind listening. But if you can't, I'd be interested to know why you feel that is the case (I wouldn't conclude that you couldn't hear a difference either). Heck, I would be equally as inquisitive as to why you could too. yes, i would be able to tell. i dont know what to say other than what ive already said in 3 or 4 posts above already. when i buy wire, i notice an instant difference. my high's come alive and start tweeting... meaning they are clear and crisp as not before. the sound is more defined in the base, meaning not as mushy. its clearer, cleaner, and more in your face, in the air... jumping out at you. i notice it instantly... i hope im not setting myself up to get critisized again... to be told that im hearing a phantom improvement thats not really there. im a very competent person... and its like telling someone that there isnt a bee in the room and they just got stung in the face and the stinger is still in their cheek.
  22. does it sync with itunes on the computer ? thats the feature that im really liking. from the product depscription: "PC Server for MX-6000 Instead of purchasing an expensive “Media PC” or dedicated music server, any PC with iTunes and/or Windows Media Player can be connected to your audio system to act as a high powered music server with the most engaging, intuitive user interface you’ve ever seen. MX-6000 Server is a software application that once installed on a PC, combines your iTunes library with your Media Player library. The MX-6000 utilizes its network connection via WiFi to communicate with the server software on the PC. Since all communication happens at WiFi “G” speeds, there are no lags or delays displaying the information or lists on the screen of the MX-6000. All your cover art, artist, album and song title metadata appear on the screen of the MX-6000. Lists are navigated via the integrated scroll wheel without ever connecting a keyboard or mouse to the PC. At last, you have access to all the music you’ve paid for... all the music you want without the hassles... the music simply plays..." plus it just looks cool [] http://www.universalremote.com/images/product_page/MX_6000/MX-6000_stand.jpg

    Bi-Wire

i dont see how either... but it does what all the threads ive read say it do. my system sounds alive and crisp... elegant... when i bi wire. From doing my reserch, im not the only person who has been accused of seeing or hearing this so called "phantom". The point of it is i hear it and im happy. I'm sorry if others dont... and im sorry that those who do hear a performance gain get critisized for saying so. But like I said, im happy and i wouldnt have it any other way. i dont see the need to argue it anymore. this will probably be my last post on this topic. it always turns into a flame war everywhere ive read about it.
  25. yea its powered but the sub's onboard amplifier gets so hot that it shuts off. it sounds good though, but i doubt it will compete with that rw12d
