  2. I may have the chance to get a Marantz slt 12U table

Anyone here have personal experience just one of these? It’s been a while since I’ve been in the linear tracking tables and when I seen this one is quite interesting. But the arm looks like it functions quite clunky , and I’m having a hard time finding info on the setup of these tables. A few videos showing it working. I’m wondering more about of how to setup the arm and R&R the cart and repairs on these beast. Any and all input is welcomed . 640a35606942887b6bc5995a7e3267e5.jpg

  3. Horn lens or lens is often misused when referring to a horn. I think carlthess40 means horn.

Here's an example of a JBL acoustic lens:

Thank you for the correction on the terminology. After 40+ years of tackling with Speakers a lot of my friends here down south of, custom to calling them now lens when no compression driver is on them and when it is a complete set of the horn in the compression driver, then and only then do we call it a horn. That’s just me and I’m usually wrong in my description of things anyway so no big deal on my end. It’s all good to me

  4. Found his listings on facebook.  There are 2 listings

    1. - Bensalem Pa (Philly Area) for JBL Speakers
    2. - Hatboro Pa for Amplifiers (ashley). No mention of the Klipsch or JBL equipement.

    Stock Listed is:

    22 - KPT- 904-LF-N at about $160 per
     1  -  KPT-684-SW at about  $300
     4 -  KP-480/KP-4000-C  at about $190 each.

I did not see any Klipsch Horns to complete the 904-HF setup.  I think they just used them for bass.

I told him I would take 2 of the 480"s to put under my Lascalas and 2 of the 904's to play wth.

He has a ton of JBLequipment including the bass modules and what looks like about 30 Horns w/ drivers.

I think the horns are the JBL 2374"s used in the JBL 3722 speker (also has the bass modules for this speaker) but they may be 2384 model.  When I ge down i can measure them and find out.  I am going toget a few and install on the 904's to see how they compare to the knock-off 501's.

I don't have pricing on the JBL equipment.

Please let me let if there is anything I can do to help. I'm about an hour away but retired so more that happy to do what I can.

I’d like four of the horn lenses, those would not cost a arm and leg to ship to Florida

  5. You guys are really making me rethink the change I’m about to do in my H1’s

I have the Square magnet tweeters and I’m about to install Dave’s horns and the b&c drivers . I’ll have to do a REW test to see what the sound different will be

Could someone point me to a video on REW for just testing tweeters?

  6. Question here
What are the gaskets for ? Inside the horn lens ? I have some H1’s and just pulled the tweeters, and I did not see any type of gasket between the lens and the wood baffles. I would think that for the tweeters and mids that there would be some type of seal. Please help inform me on this.
I’ll be installing a set of Dave’s tweeters , still working on the crossovers, so should I make or use some type of gasket?
I know about the rubber inside the horns.
    Thanks
    Carl

  7. I have a R-112SW, it has been working fine until a while ago..  it has started turning off randomly. Sometimes it can stay on for hours, but sometimes it turns of after seconds of use.... So I figured I'd just change the plate amp, but I think I might need some help picking the right amp...

My the sub is rated with 300w RMS with 600W peak if I'm not mistaken..? So what wattage for the amp am I looking at then...? I've found 2 different plate amps from Dayton Audio which as far as I can see will fit perfectly without any modification to the sub box itself atleast...
The Dayton Audio SPA250DSP, the other one is primarily the same amp just with 500w (SPA500DSP)

So my question is which one of these amps will work the best..?

I have a R-112sw and have the Dayton 250dsp plate amp installed in it, I feel that it’s very under powered for it, I would go with the 500 amp if I knew just how weak the 250 is.
