  1. as u see from my system , i am currently using quad 303 ,wch is 45 watts a channel but its sonic character outweighs those of 100 watters but still rumble is lacking like it does with some jbls !!!
  2. hmmm and wot speakers did u play with that 2265? my question now takes a new turn plz dont mind but how wud this 2270 or urs 2265 compare to a quad 303 pre power amp of the same era im currently using it with klipsch maybe its too neutral for me marantz with klipsch cud probably excite me do u think so ? any ideas
  3. hi there i was just shopping around where i found an old receiver from marantz its the vintage model 2270 tuner receiver the shopkeeper for asking Rs 7000 , thats around 87 dollars the front panel looked dusty but still manageable i was thinking of buying it but he said it requires a couple of things to be worked out perhaps and was not ready to serve yet can anyone tell how these wud sound with my rf3s wud its sound outperform the newer amplifiers from brands like yamaha and denon of its original price range ??? or shud i just ignore it and move on to some other warmer and musical newer stuff
  4. WHY is it that i felt happier with my bookshelves rated at 45 hz than my 37 hz rated klipsches plz somebody help is it that klipsch are not my type or wot
  5. thanks artto i really appreciate it now im gonna mess around with the placement though its very disgusting to hear not to expect that rfs are not reference level speakers
  6. wot do u wana achieve ? wot jbl does is give better bass than most klipsch do its not about the amplitude its about the bass nature from jbls that somehow sound pleasing and visceral bass from klipsches is dry (( imho anyways wots the sensitivity of ur jbl l200 woofers wud they match up the khorns
  7. hi there iv been trying around almost every option here but i seem to be missing some real room filling bass from the rf3s , as i hv noticed them to be brighter than my tastes perhaps ! its a fact that klipsch hv been clearer and louder and deliver more of the whole frequency range than my other collections however i have to admit i am missing some real visceral lows that some equal sized speakers tend to deliver me is it my room acoustics so bad or is it really the speakers i was very happy with my bookshelves celestion 9 which hv a soft dome tweeter and a very engaging sound klipsch is superior in imaging ,power and dynamics but not as pleasing in music my room is 16 by 15 feet with a false ceiling at about 8 feet and im using a vintage 45 watts quad 303 pre power amp and sony x33 cd player the room has a 8 by 8 ft bed ,some rest is rugs its a hard floor vinyl treated room a huge 10 by 6 ft glass window with blinds on ,it is facing the speakers can anyone comment
  8. Hi there I have a pair of klipsch RF3 s And am running em with a 40 watts per channel Quad 303 pre power setup and sony x33es cdp The sound is neat and clear With gr8 dynamics But learning from some other guys here at the forum, who own forte2 and chorus2 ,the midrange of rf 3 cud hv been better And the gap of frequencies from highs to lows cud hv been more smoother as with the other two bigger models Cud anyone suggest me how i can improve the Mids of the well designed RF3s Another speaker that a cousin gave me to try Were pioneer SLH 5 And they have an amazingly musical sounnd And a better than my rf3s midrange flow The SLH 5 also makes use of horns But were very laid back and pleasing to my surprise They almost cost the same as a mint condition Rf3s should! they cannot match the loudness of RF 3s. though. ! Plz help I want a better mid range here
  9. Some say the two way reference speakers lack the middle portion between the tweeter and the woofers frequencies Wch are well covered in by 3 way heritage Henceforth forte beats rf 7s by a margin Is that also ur experience ?
  10. Right on Thanks alot man That was it Im thinkng perhaps the tweeters of ref kliposch r still shriller than a pair of pioneer SLH 5 that i am testing or those Of the jbls from similar priced jbl Do u think so? Can they be tamed Although klipsch beats the crap out ov em all through its Much acclaimed higher sensitivity

  14. hi there a small happening i connected the wiring to my RF3s the othr day when a cousin had come to have an A-B ing comparison of the klipsches with a pair of his PIONEER S-D55 surprisingly both towers of mine poured out a very squeaky-tweetry-only sound i raised the volume just to check ,but still no responce from the mute woofers the other day again i connected em to another receiver and it workd fine the first amp did sounded fine with the pioneers though lots of bass any thots plzz???
  15. carbon summit id like to know hows ur experience from ur fortes are they better than rf 3s by far a margin or just the mids r better bcoz of the midrange horn? hows the overall delivery of sound and experience do they beat jbls of the same age and prices adios
  16. SWL hey looking at the awesomw gear u have and marantzes i remember i had a ve got a marantz its the marantz PM 44 i donno if uv had its experience but i got into marantz brand from this machine and have been a huge fan though wud u say it wud best my vintage QUAD 303 and perform better ????? i doubt that however also i will have to ask my far away living cousin ,bring that 44 ( if u suggest a 1 to 1 comparison ) thanks
  17. hey old enough[H] Look at the offerings from Harman Kardon, you could do a lot worse. sir i didnt get that part ???? are u suggesting harmans or speaking against the likes of harman iv never heard em though cud u just be a bit specific of some favourite amps please send model numbers thanks
  18. hi there all klipsch lovers im using a new bookshelf speakers from celestions its the celestion 9s and attached them to an ordinary sony prologic amp in stereo mode , man !!! they have surprised me !!!! they have a very breath takingly sweet and soft sound and have immense detail have very pleasing bass detail they have softness and fatigueless overall sound im feeling let down as im a klipsch fan and am not as happy with my rf 3s as much as these small dudes have pleased me find me the reason pls is it the room or wot coz ive experimented with all variables room placement, amps, recordings, wirings, etc yet these bookys beat the RF 3s for music listening the rf3s do tend to get heavy on head after an hour or 2 of loud listening these small ones dont although they reach 98dbs without flutter klipsch beat em at that but hey forgive em on loudness they are small pls comment on this comparison of sound quality should i get some other klipsch
  19. im in love with the fortes wana have one desperately heard a lot about em wud it throw out the klipsch reference if compared that i own and by what margin and wot sonic difference pls tell rf3 owner quadklipsch
  20. yeah i think they might be considered esp ORIGINAL chorus and fortes model I
  21. mark i like RF- 3s they blew my kenwoods out ,the moment i powered em up with my meagre wattage amp, quad 303 ( they soared in terms of sensitivity, loudness and punch ,detail and the lively nature, imaging too) they moment they breathed out their first beat, i was shocked and asked myself , wot the hell ??? wot kindda power this amp is producing??? it never played this well on kenwoods,in 3 years sensitivity rules !!!!
  22. hey micheal avg 5 w wiavg 5 w with 20 db transient peaks = 500 watts. Now 5 watts into the RF3II is a pretty loud level, but not unrealistic do you mean that 5 watts is tall enough for RF 3s , enough to go watching a movie like king kong or the 2012 with aplomb !! how do we measure watts sorry but i have a quad 303 sorry drifting from the main theme but really curious i enjoy rf3s too
  23. Is my system currently a mid fi or a low fi Plz let me know ur thoughts Klipsch RF3s Or sometimes celestion 9 bookshelves Quad 33 processor and 303 power amp Cd player. Sony X33 ES Vanden hul wires
