  1. How much are you looking to spend? Whats your limit? What are you going to use them for as doug asked. Music or HT . or both? How big is your room? can you tell the difference between a 192bps and a 320bps coded audio file? If you can answer those questions for us, we could help you with developing your HT system. The quintets are good speakers, but there are better in the same class. Klipsch may not like this but, I would go with the Paradigm Cinima series. They will give you a smoother sound, for less money. ( 600$ for the whole setup, last time I checked) ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  2. On a 3 way floor standing speaker, is is usualy a good frequency response for the Tweeter, Midrange, and Subwoofer? Right now I am looking at a 2 by 6 piezo Horn Tweeter. It goes from 1.8 khz to 30 khz I have a 10 or 12 inch Woofer already, not sure of its response though. And I need to buy a new Midrange. But I think I may wanna go with another subwoofer... Since I have a set of Pro Medias. I realy need to know what a good Mid range would be to get, thats not more than like... 30 bucks. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel

  4. "Klipsch, one of the oldest names in the US loudspeaker firmament, and famous for high-sensitivity loudspeakers with horn tweeters, has recently been going through a resurgence in the USA, where it claims to be number two, behind Bose. Now the brand is being reintroduced to the UK, and this is one of its launch systems." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA Who else is about to piss theyer pants from laughing so hard? 6. Yes. When I took my pros to where my grandfather worked. A big warehouse. You could tell that the Mid Ranges were lacking. Heres what I suggest . If you are not happy with the Mids on the Pros, and prefure the sound of your old Sonys, Hook up both of your speakers. Go to RAdio Shack and buy a Y connector. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F005%5F003%5F009%5F003&product%5Fid=910%2D0749 I recomend getting the Gold plated one, and MAKE SURE you dont get the Mono Y connector. Make sure its the Stereo. (mono has 1 black notch, stereo has 2) ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  7. http://216.37.9.58/ubb/uploads/DwK/subplace.JPG A pic. Hopefuly you can see the sub, and the stands, its at the bottom left, the pictures are kinda dark. You can also see where I have my control pod (its the light on the front of my computer) I have it in my empty 3.5 bay. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  8. I also have my sub on a piece of ply wood, and the Ply wood on 2 3 foot tall (1 foot wide (squares) Small desk/shelves. Each one has 2 small shelves in them. My sub preforms alot better there than it did when I had it under my desk on the ground. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  9. Your Radeon should come with Software that works with the Radeon and uses the Radeons built in Hardware Decoder. The Radeon is a good card for DVD decoding. As for the sound card, I think you should go with the AWE Live Platinum. And if you were going to buy a Reciever and what not, you could use the Digital out from your computer to an imput on your Reciever, with your Klipsch on the Reciever. Not sure if that Helped any but... ok The Hollywood Plus card, would still be your best bet. It will work as your decoder, and has a Digital Sound out, and S Video out, with a Svideo to RCA converter. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  10. For DVD's I recomend you getting one of these. http://www.sigmadesigns.com/products/hollywood_plus.htm It is a GREAT card, the best. I got one with my 12x DVD player. It has SVideo out, Digital sound out. And you can run DVD movies and work on your computer with out slowing down your computers preformance, or skipping the movie. And theres a Remote Control you can buy for it, that Sigma makes. It will cost you about 100 bucks, but I think you would be ALOT happier with it, than using Power DVD or some other Software decoder. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel

  13. What about the RF-7? is that what you ment to send me? I did some weird wiring with 2 Y connectors, one that I took apart. I was trying to hook up my Pro Medias, and RAdio Shack didnt have what I needed ( they did but for 7 bucks each and I needed 2 ).. Now I thikn I should have gotten those Well, it over loaded something in it.. so it doesnt work. My dads going to get his brother to fix it, he has the scimatics on it so it should be fine. But I still dont have my Pros I am using a pair of crappy Sony Headphones for a portable radio. I took the Head PHones apart, well I took the part that goes around your head off, so its just the ear buds. I need to go get my good Sony's... those are nice. I WANT MY PROS!! ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel

  18. While I was at my dads.. I broke his Kenwood Reciever/Amp. I was doing some funky wiring with some Y connectors to hook up my Pro Medias... and it overloaded it or something. So I left my Pro Medias over there with my Boom Box, and a Y connector. I wont have my Pros for a couple weeks ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  19. ohh yea, the Quintets sound alot better. 100 watt 1 inch Tweeter 3.5 inch Mid Range made out of a better material Better speaker wire connections on back Better Case Larger sub higher quality sub ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel

    Why!!!!

No. I'm saying put together a set like the BOSE lifestyle system. It comes with a AMP that prety much is made to work with the speakers. Just, Keep the Pro Medias like they are, ( 5.1 promedias ) A better ( bigger and fancier, with more hookups) and what ever changes that are needed, and sell it as a HT system. Its a good, and simple solution, that I think people would realy go with. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  22. Hi. Been at my dads. Well.. I compared the systems.. I liked the Pro Medias alittle better. But I had to leave them there because I broke his Stereo Reciever And you will need to ..... check that link you gave me... Its weird because they use Frames. Try right clicking on the screen, properties, and copy paste that URL. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  23. You tell me if these guys will be around in 2 years Ofcorse the Quintets preform better than the Pro Medias, I would hope so for an extra 500 dollers. In the long run, if you wanted a good speaker set, getting the quintets was a good decision. I'm just saying there are better solutions out there, but yours isnt a bad one. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  24. Makes since. Go with the lowest price, as long as you can get the product ofcorse, and a working one is always a nice bonus Question, is it Sense, or Since? Isnt sense the touch, the smell, seeing and what not? What difference does the REal wood Veneer make? Does it affect sound quality? or just look better? ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
  25. Yea thats one thing you wanna make sure about. Make sure he is a Authorized dealer. Make sure where ever you buy either speakers from, that they are authorized dealers. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
