  1. I read once that the game was moved to Hawaii so as to be an extra incentive for the players to participate.

They're also paid a minimum of 25K I believe. Game is crap though.

  2. I believe that I see examples of this being
exhibited by the two main actors in the "big" race. Nothing degrading,
however their most recent actions "could" be seen as self-promoting.

I don't see how individuals can honestly perceive
the President's actions in the wake of the storm as some sort of calculated
self-aggrandizement. It becomes more clear in the case of the
challenger, whose response was to orchestrate a largely staged event
    replete with political propaganda.

  3. He then mentioned that Jamo had bought Klipsch out and made them their lower grade series, with Jamo being the top of the line. This was really news to me because I hadn't really been following the business side of Klipsch.

Now, when he said Klipsch was the lower grade he mentioned them being sold at Best Buy and I realized he was talking about the Synergy series, which made me wonder where the Reference series would fit, knowing that even within the Reference series there are different sizes to grade. I didn't ask him because he seemed less interested in discussing products he didn't sell.

    I believe he's a bit reversed there.

As found on the Klipsch website: "The Jamo® brand—owned by Klipsch Group, Inc.—bases all of its audio
products, speakers and electronics alike, on the Danish design tradition
    of style, simplicity and functionality."

Klipsch was, however, recently acquired by Audiovox.

  4. The Onkyo is perfectly adequate for your present situation. There is no need to worry about damaging the amp or your speakers. It will get hot, but this is simply a characteristic of Onkyo amps, not an indication that it's about to explode.

  5. congrats on the great score. If you want to work on them, my suggestion would be to restore them to factory spec before upgrading. my best advice on accomplishing that is to recap the crossovers. Bob Crites can source the capacitors pretty economically. This is as close to factory spec as you will get. If you still want to upgrade parts after that, go ahead. You will have a reasonable reference to which you can compare the upgraded parts.

    +1 Yes

This is the route to take prior to the HIII upgrade. Leftovers could be sold or used in some new boxes.

So would I be best off in sending my crossovers in to have them rebuilt by Bob?

I would suggest ordering caps and soldering them yourself. It's stupidly easy to do.

  6. depending on the monitor you choose... you may be bale to do it wireless.

if you are getting it for comp usage, I might suggest a non plasma unit as plasma will sustain burn in. if you are getting for the best picture... get plasma.

Burn-in isn't inevitable with modern sets. I've used a 50" plasma as a computer monitor daily for over a year and a half without any permanent screen damage. Be careful with the set when its young and you're fine.
