As you see I worked on the supports. They're made in plywood (thickness is 18mm) and screwed (and glued) to the cabinet. I'll use 4 insert screw with 4 steel spikes (with nuts) or 4 soft rubber feets (if I have to couple or decouple the speakers to the floor). The cut in the back side was made to let the cables to pass to the external crossover (that will be decoupled from the cabinet). Bye!!! Roby. In this shot you can see the decoupling spacers. They have also the function of align the mid and high drivers to the grilles. I hope you like it!!!! Roby.

Good evening!!!! I'm going to update you about my project!!! Now I'm working on the decoupling spacers and on the grilles. Let's see some shots of the grilles: those will be aligned with the horns and the edges of the cabinets and will covered with pressed wool (less diffractions). Note that I've have to refine it!!!! I'll drive the Cornscala III with a Musical Fidelity A1 (I've got it in 1998...is 20 watt solid state class A). Do you think Is enough for those 15" beasts???? Do you suggest anything else????? @MoparBob: Now I live in the south of Italy (where the weather is very good!!!!!). I know a little Vicenza because I lived in Verona (another nice city near Vicenza) for a year. Very nice places for holiday!!!!!! I hope in the future to go in the USA ...

Good mornig Herb, The cable AWG 10 that I could use is very cheap (a friend could sell me that). Do you have did any tests??? Solid core, silver, copper, twist or not , ecc???? Good evening! I'm thinking what I've to do about cables. 1)I'll use the same cables to connect ampli to speakers and for internal cables. 2)All the connections will be soldered (from the drivers/woofers to ampli) to lower contact resistances. 3)All the connections will be shielded (from the drivers/woofers to ampli) to lower electromagnetic interferencies. 4)All the connections will be dampened (from the drivers/woofers to ampli) and the crossovers will be external to lower vibrations effect. I could use (for all cables) a AWG 10 (5,27 mmq) silvered oxigen free copper with teflon insulator. (One for positive and one for negative). I've some questions for experts: 1)The AWG caliber is OK? 2)I've to twist the negative and positive conductors? If yes, I've to do this for all the ways??? 3)I've to use different AWG for woofer and mid/high? 4)Do you suggest other solutions to cabling my speakers? Thanks in advance for your answers!!!! Roby.

The other cabinet. A detail of the mid support/cabinet reinforcement. To have all the ways very near, we've machined it to screw the rear nuts. The design of the motorboard is similar to Cornwall III (the woofer is higher). For these reason (and because the ph800 was the third mid horn adviced by bob crites after klipsh and pyle...) I named Cornscala III my speakers. I hope you like it!!! Now I've to spray the dampening coat in the inner of the other cabinet Roby.

Good morning!!! On the motorboard I modified the holes for the Crites cast frame woofers to improve the "flow" in the cabinet. See photo. Now I've to work to refine. In the inner I used damping coating. Roby

Thank you very much guys!!! Your words encourages me to go on the project!!! Your wood horns are fantastic and I think the price is low. May be my next squakers... The finish will be high tickness cherry veneer (I love it...). In those days I'm working a lot with my father: 1)Back panels with a lot of insert screw. 2)Anti diffraction grilles. 3)Decoupling spacers for mid and tweeter. Thank you daddy!!! Dear Mike Dubai, your project is - in my opinion - the best. A decoupled section for mid and high should reduce vibration from the 15" beasts. I can't do it for overall dimensions (too big for my installation) but I'm working to reduce vibrations also. The crossover will be external and mid and tweeter will be decoupled from the cabinet (or better I'm trying to do this...). My friend wood worker use the glue WOOD LOCK 2001. He's very accurate and sound addicted: thank you a lot Roby Bafaro!!!

Dear Herb, I wait for fastrac dimensions ... may be for another couple of cornscalas?????? How much for 2 fastrac? Where I can buy it? There's a website? For the PH 800 I'll reinforce it by resins (increasing a lot their thickness) and I'm going to support the alnico driver (very heavy!!!!): see photos. As I said I'm not an expert and I'm using all the components that BOb Crites suggested me (including crossovers).

I''m sorry to everbody for the photos. @Herb: I live in the south of Italy but Montepulciano is good!!! The wine also....you're always welcome in Italy (even with yours Cornscalas!!!!). Roby In the photo there's the base of the cabinet (made in MDF 19 mm of thickness) with the inserts for the side panels and machined to fit the motorboard. What are the dimensions of the Fastrack horn???

But I ordered the ph800 before and the project It's going on. Bob Crites suggested me the ph 800 and I'm not an expert. I'm going to decoupling and reinforcing the horns (bigger thickness). Good evening, I'm Roby from Italy and I'm sorry for my very bad american. [:$] I've listened and/or owned several european speakers with conventional drivers and efficency (5" "woofer", 85 dbW/1) until I've had the opportunity of listen Klipsch Heritage Series. It's another league, another dimension of listening!!! I love Klipsch sound!!!!!! I can't install a Klipschorn (should be my next dream...) so I decided to build a Cornscala (that I named Cornscala III). I bought all the components from Bob Crites (thank you very much for your patience Bob !!!!!!) and he advice me to use the PH 800 horn (the reason is the other Pyle was discontinued). I started to design my cabinets for the new volumes of the squakers and several internal modifications that I'll do (on the cabinet and on the components). The final result will be (I hope...) a little bit higher than a standard Cornwall III. Then I started to cut and the glue the MDF with a friend that is a professional woodworker.
