    justin,

Along with Diggs advice to "buy a coat" for mid-Missouri weather, I will add a caveat or two: Don't get the heaviest-a#@ coat you can find... something mid-weight, along with some long-sleeves,so you can wear layers to more easily adapt to the (sometimes volatile) climate changes.

There's a saying in these-here-parts, to the effect of "If you don't like the weather, just wait 24 hours".

All in all, I think you're going to enjoy it... we might be a little more fast-paced and quick-witted than you Texaners are used to; that southern heat slows the synapses a little (which may, in part, explain our current Commander-in-Chief's mental failings...)

Spoken like a true midwest veteran!

  2. "Spelt"? What, is that German?

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I just thought you would like to correct some errors.

LOL, just messin with ya. Yeah, you should've sent him an email.

  3. LOL, I've heard more than enough about Houston to never want to live there. I think you'll like MU. Columbia is a great city and MU is right next to downtown and within walking distance to all the bars (= no driving)

Plenty of fine looking women there if I do say so myself. If you ever have any questions don't hesitate to send me an email. I can tell you all about professors, classes, good places to eat, etc...

Remember to buy a coat! You'll need it in the winter. 9.gif

I love to do this kind of stuff, but right now I am trying to save every dime and penny so I can continue this kind of life through college. I am trying to get a job at a HiFi A/V place in Columbia Missouri (Going to U of Missouri @ Columbia) but I will need references since they just see me as a kid who wants a few bucks. Klipsch, wanna give them a call?!
    :)
Your own Klipsch dealer in Columbia! (they also sell dynaudio, krell, sunfire, paradigm, sennheiser, grado, ML, all the high end stuff, fun place to go! even have Mondial/Aragon!)

Thanks, and your welcome (tee hee)

Would that be D&M Sound? EDIT: I read the other reply. Cool place. I hope you enjoy working there.

Why MU instead of any Texas school if I may ask?

  5. I though it was ok. I just thought it was odd when they were firing at each other from what looked like 20 yeards with machine guns and no one was getting hit. They weren't even hiding behind cover, just standing there.

I disagree. I paid $300 a few years ago for my Denon. I bought the 630 on a whim a few months ago for $67. In 2-channel playback the Denon can't hold a candle to the H/K, in my opinion.

I am almost ready to try one of those hk430 and compare it to my scott 299a just to see the difference between them.I guess being from the show me state I just cant stand not to compare the two.I still listen to my vintage sansui g-7700 once in a while but it just aint as good as the scott.

craig does the scott 299c with the 7591 output tubes have a way better bottom end then the scott 299a and 299b with the 7189 el84 output tubes? Is there a night and day difference between the 2 units in there bass performance?

Diggs---Then the car must have been a 99. It was the year the IRS came out on the car, first year with the "creasey" body. Pardon my 54 year-old memory for rushing the years together.

Ugh, the dreaded 99. Did he take it in to get "the fix"? Ford really pissed off a few people when they released that car and it was constantly being beaten by the GT.

Toxic---Here in Illinois street performence IS straight line, that's life on The Prarie. You have to hunt for curves in this state unless you drive out to the Driftless Region that the last glacier missed or south of the Shelbyville Moraine where the glacier stopped. I guarantee there ain't many Audi and Porsche driving Chicago Yupsters traveling to the Hillbilly parts of the state looking for curves, they'd never find a latte in Shawneetown. :-) I drive Rte 47 from Chicago to Urbana to see my daughter at the U of I and there are 3, count em, 3 curves. When my son and I would drive down in his Mustang Cobra we'd pass cars in bunches and hit over 140mph.

One of my apprentices bought a Z-28 (not an SS) with auto a couple of years ago. He turned high 13s at the strip, totally stock, just put it in Drive and floor it. That's impressive performence. When he raced my son's 2000 Cobra they were neck and neck till they ran out of road but my son was working alot harder, the Cobra certainly needed stick for best performence. :-)

    There is no 2000 Cobra.

Unless of course you're talking about a Cobra R, but they aren't street legal.
