Pretty bad when you feel like you have to start fact checking the CDC.
Realclearpolitics is owned by Forbes. That narrative is getting tired and old.
Bad part is that when you look at the CDC, NIH, and WHO, it reinforces the narrative. Maybe we overcompensated, like a new driver in a skid in snow, cut across the road into a ditch. It is starting to look that way. Worse is some governors are enjoying the power.
Hind sight is we could have done the social distancing and masks since the beginning.... Not sure what NY would have done though with the subways.
Not so hind sight, we knew old folks were most vulnerable but you have these stats.
Nursing home fatality percentages.
NY ~20%
NJ ~40%
PA ~55%

Right with this quality of testing, do I want to be on the short list for a vaccine also? It's probably better to go to Walmart and not social distance or wear a mask.

Some not so good news............. South America is starting to boil over with covid19.

Stop the flights into the US. This "check their temperature" probably doesn't catch anyone and if it does, probably is self quarantine - sure....

Throw everything against the wall. Something better stick for our sake. Either that or don you riot gear and brave the new world/norm. Make sure you are taking 12 vitamins a day and don't have diabetes or hypertension.
I think a lot of the age related deaths are not from people in good physical heath though ones that have these other underlying diseases that creep in as you age. Also, how many older folks used to be smokers?

So are all states seeing record numbers or is it just California? I have no idea but it wouldn't surprise me if some states were much higher than others.
They died from COVID.... COVID induced. Check the box.

California doctors say they have seen 'a years worth of suicides' in the last month because of the impact lockdown is having on mental health
- Trauma doctors and nurses at John Muir Medical Center in California say they have seen a year's worth of suicide attempts in just a matter of weeks
- Dr Mike deBoisblanc and nurse Kacey Hansen say lockdown needs to be lifted
- Medics are witnessing a huge amount 'intentional injury' brought on by stress
- Isolation and job losses are leading to higher number of suicide attempts

This is what I tried to explain to Bosco. That bag of shrimp which says pond raised in the US may contain shrimp from China. And, the FDA has dumped the decision to terminate this new ruling on HHS where it will conveniently, in my opinion, be forgotten. Meanwhile, if the agencies are so concerned about our food supply, why are we continuing to export products which are in such short supply here?Maynard
Wow.

I understand your situation. You know lots of guys take rough cabinets and re finish them with 1/4", 3/8" or even 1/2" pre veneered plywood. Yields a perfect veneer job and stiffens the cabinet at the same time. Enjoy your projects and have fun.
And most large cabinets can benefit from it.

UW study shows staggering numbers of US COVID-19 infection, fatality rates
Up to 3.6%? I wonder what they are really looking at and their models. I don't like ending an article with the following so why bother?
Dr. Basu said as of right now, among the cases who fall sick, we are only reporting about 25%, which means there is a lot of data still missing. That's what they are trying to track with this study to help our leaders make informed decisions for public health.

Where does the idiocy end?
This is another slap in the face to the taxpayer.
The provincial government of Ontario is giving half a BILLION dollars to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming corporation.
The company that controls the “tax on stupid people” needs a bailout...
Up here our lottery machines are bilingual too.
When you scan your ticket and you lose, the computer generated voice jilts you in both English and French.
Hey! Lotto bandits!
”Peaux cadeaux!”
Good thing you aren't seeing Trillions go out like in the US. And for what?

I don't trust any numbers anymore, and since the CDC is no longer working independently without WH interference, I'm done with them too.
All one can do at this point is take of yourself, because you're not going to get any help from anyone else.
A mess at the start and a mess currently. Too bad you can't trust anything that has to do with money.
As you said, take care of yourself because nobody else is going to.

Two watched states, TX and FL. 16 and 4 deaths respectively. Let's see if these get revised up in the next couple of days. Considering they opening up, significantly, we should see a dismal June.
I wish the case count mattered.

He ain't driving anything. He's a public servant. Or is he the only one people are listening to? Why would that be?
This is Brix's bailiwick, what's she saying? Wait, didn't CDC issue guidelines, and unissued them? Is she even allowed to say anything?
What's our Govemor saying? It's his call, or is he leaving it up to county by county?
Flights are cheap, gas is rock bottom, everyone should fly/drive to a town of their choice in USA, catch a ball game, watch a movie, drop some coin, remember those who died for their country and get this place going again.
He's driving the media and the narrative unfortunately. Maybe that is reducing now.

If you read this remdesivir study you’ll see how complex it is to derive conclusive results from ongoing clinical cases. It was well done. Now contrast the remdesivir study design with the paper from Lancet on hydoxychlorquine and you find a huge difference. The Lancet work looked at just 2 variables, whether people had ventricular arrhythmias or died. They ‘observed’ that hydroxychlorquine in combination with other drugs was associated with arrhythmias and did not reduce mortality. They made no attempt to categorize stages of the disease, level of infection, etc. It’s as though they went looking for the bad and left out any detailed study to show if hydroxychlorquine had ANY advantages at ANY stage of the disease. This is why that paper has been called limited and unable to assign cause and effect. Other papers on hydroxychlorquine have shown positive results and like remdesivir hydroxychlorquine may in fact offer some benefit. Other studies are underway.
It is not exceptional news that neither of these drugs are curative. I’d say the take away if the hydroxychlorquine must be used with regard to its safety....... but it may well still be worth using and a lot of clinicians still use it.
Yes, you don't have to dig far into that paper to understand where it is going and what the motivator. Also to start off stating "observational study" makes it hold less water than the actual troops on the ground doing the work and stating their observations.
As I said earlier, a bunch of small bullets is better than none since we can't find the one silver bullet.

What do you intend to keep, or does it come down to whatever is left?
Depending on what I end up parting with and what goes first, I also have a set of KLF30s, RP160Ms that can be paired with R115sws, and some home builts with Faital Pro high end horns and dual 13" Focal woofers.
So I have a bunch of stuff still hanging around depending on what I want to do.

The homebuilts look very nice. What are you not willing to part with?
At this point, the RB5s with subs can go and my home builts if the price is right. I'd have to get a couple of grand out of them. Nobody wants homemade though.

NY probably needs to be NYC.
Here is one source:
https://freopp.org/the-covid-19-nursing-home-crisis-by-the-numbers-3a47433c3f70
Bunch of other stuff out there.
Of course, these would be preliminary. We have to wait and see what games are played with the numbers and reassessment.
Bottom line is since the beginning it was known the elderly were most at risk and obviously the world had a brain fade.
