Digging up an old post here since I will have a similiar geomtry. Thanks.
Are the Tops angled more than the Bass Bins? yes
How many inches are the Bass Bins from the side wall?
I will check on that sometime soon.
The bass bins have gone straight out and toed in a little bit too, close in angles to the tops. I personally can't tell too much difference either way to my ears. So I toed them in just a little.. Bass is not as directionable to most ears.
The tops however are exactly pointed to the left and right two center seats at ear level height and direction wise. (I used a laser pointer to confirm this)
You may ask why?
Say what you want to go to this extreem in placement, but I can demonstratate a singer that seems to be exactly coming from a center speaker (that is not on obviously in stereo) the image is so good, you swear it is on, and you can place everyone as though they are playing live in front of you.
It's THAT cool!

No pics of you both?
-
buy a sound meter to balance it out...
-
Hate hate hate to lose!
-
A Belle is a Prettier La Scala... The mid is NOT the same.. and you CAN hear the difference too.
-
ava gave good info
-
Well again, as I satated, we live in the midrange.. Assuming the top is the same..and the bottom is close... and you have sub(s) for anything under 80 htz anyhow..
LOOKS TO ME A HOME RUN!
Looks awesome!

I love the world cup! Its like the only time in your life as a USA citizen... It is accepted to scream, yell, blow your horn.have a few beers...And you can sing or scream out your national anthem at the top of your lungs too!! (it is not wrong, and this politically correct BS society were all supposed to follow, is thrown away....Thank Goodness. hahahaha)
You can go USA, USA, USA, in the opponents face....and team too.
AND IT FEELS GOOD, DOESN'T IT???
And at the end of the day, it is not what were PC taught too as kids. It is not whether you win or lose, it is how you play the game BS, too,
THE WORLD CUP IS ABOUT WINNING! PERIOD!!!!!!! Nationalism is not bad, we seem to have sadly forgotten this in the USA.
USA USA USA USA USA USA

very cool pics!!!!
Love the "Sqwatter Scala" !!!

Bigger is always better on the longer wall, esp with K horns. Smaller is a no no.
Don't sweat it at all.. 18- 24 feet seems to be the golden dimension for K horns anyhow!

nice work....

The sizzle of the tweeter is indded good to match, but "we live in the midrange" as has been said over n over good or bad. Do your best to match the mids to the fronts with the exact midrange drivers. It will be Nirvana for your ears, if you do. Again, I scream it from all over to newbies here... Timbre matters.
You want an example why?
Listen carefully when a truck goes from off screen left to the front left speaker..., to center,... to right, When done right.. It is so awesome!! You want it and get it to be seemless when you use the same 3 speakers up front.

when is the next game?

If you want my honest opinion on what to do.... build yourself a LaScala bass bin (or buy one) and yank the existing K400/77's out of your EXISTING LaScalas and slap either the huge K402 on top or the smaller K510 (could mount inside cabinet with some woodwork) and convert all of your LaScalas to JubeScalas. Drop them down to a 2-way speaker, biamp and prepare to be stunned at what you hear.
U tease!!!
-
Match your LaScalas as exact as you can....so either buy a single or
pair of LaScalas or if you're going to build a speaker, I'd build a
LaScala and match the components to the left/right. << As was said before!TIMBRE matters!
-
Drag her to other KLIPSCH heads houses with BIGGER speakers.... and she might relax.
Or take her to Hope or Indy at a Klipsch event, and she will meet other wives...laugh at herself getting tense... And learn sometimes you just gotta go big and enjoy it too. It could be worse, you could be asking for a big MWM system INSIDE your house...LOL
As a side note, it is a hobby that keeps you home. You also get to share it with family and friends too.
Afterall, you could be elsewhere spending money and getting into trouble too?
-
Or get the exact same speaker for your center as you have on the right n left. hehehehehe Timbre Matters! Sorry, it is true..
That said, the golden sound for HT center speakers rule, is get the one that matches the left n right speakers, or go "one up" in the line. Never, I repete NEVER, go down a line in your center.
Why? It is just too important to do so!
When you get it right.... It is awesome...

Ok an update and pics of the Emotiva gear!
-
OK, I will bring my own band with me...( On a CD) Can I sing through this syetem next year? PLEEEEEEEASE?
Looks like fun!
-
Love your room too..
Congrats... Did you look into the new Emotiva pre?
-
Not PS3 BUT HOLD THE PRESSES
If you have a Blu Ray Sony with Audio Outs into a pre amp with audio ins...Until 2011 you can get away with this too.
Just let the player do the codecs and send them through untouched to the amps through the pre amp.
I did this with my Sunfire Theater Grand Pre Amp ... It is amazing!
You can get DTS HD Master and Dolby True HD too.
(Yes, I took the video HDMI out..to DVI straight to the projector too.)
-
Congrats.... You will love them....
-
It is still 7.1. Your just giving the backs some of the side surround info...
Just try it... See if you like it too?
