  1. Youthman i think i went through the same thing with monoprice before and actually sent them an email saying they should make a premium 2 female to 1 male. I ended up getting that lower guage one and it worked perfectly, just dont get this one . That new sub looks real nice i like the looks of it, i found a similar one close to me but dont think the guy will work on the price for me. Are you going to keep it? Should blend decently with the one you already have. By the way that is sweet it comes with a ray gun
  2. Those would look sort of cool on the rc-64ii. Sort of like the paradigm cc-690 v.5. I think maybe a metal version of the previous model feet too might be interesting, they could have copper accents on them or something.
  3. Original poster did you plan on getting surrounds to go with your front 3 speakers?
  4. The rf-82ii are awesome i got so much out of my rf-82s. If you have the cash though the rf-7ii and rc-64ii are the way to go. The difference in clarity justifies the price i think. Also why do you not want to go the amp route? I see that receiver sells for $1,800 on amazon. Receivers do not hold their value like amplifiers do and there are countless benefits of going seperates (amplifier and processor) over a receiver. PS3 works awesome as a blu-ray player if you are okay with learning how to use it. By the way my room is small and i am enjoying a pair of rf-7ii. I would like to say everyone prefers the rf-7ii for movies but the debate is still out there for music. If you are a 50% movies 50% music i think the rf-7ii is a wise choice, if you listen to more music make sure you audition the rf-7ii first before you buy it so you know what you are geting into.
  5. That nad is pretty nice and would most likely have easy functionality and ample sound for your efficient speakers. The umc / amp combo would none-the-less sound better end of story. I also suggest you try to find 3 heresys using 1 as a center and lastly i do think you would benefit from a sub. Soundtracks have a bass channel that goes lower than your speakers could handle, without a sub you would be missing this content.
  6. Can i recommend moving the tv stand to the cener of the projector screen. You could still angle the center and tv towards main seating position. By the way the rf-35 look sweet in cherry.
  7. Whos system are you referring to Joop?
  8. For people who do not like the feet on the rf-7ii take a look at them on that wood floor. IMO they look great. Good looking setup if you get a chance post a pic in the rf-7ii owners thread or the Lets see your home theater thread. Maybe keep an eye on craigslist for a HUGE area rug.
  9. your tweeter could not be functioning correctly and still not sound horrible. I suggest you do more testing and critical listening
  10. If you are going to get a standalone amp then why get a receiver? Although it may not have all the features you want i would go with the umc-1. The price is right and supposedly should have better sound quality than the 707 if calibrated right. I dont think they even make a network 707 do they? I really dont care for the looks of the umc and i actually like a processor that is big (dont ask for my reasoning here) which the umc is not. But in the end the umc has all the latest codecs and has good sound.
  11. Westcott i used a 3802 on my rf-82 system for a while and noticed a huge increase in sound quality when adding a high power amplifier.
  12. Yeah i dont know if it is a good thing or not that a moving company is moving the stuff. Personally i would feel better about doing it myself. Will your new place have a larger or smaller living room / theater area ?
  13. Bill that looks like a nice processor, again i would buy that if it was local to me. I just turned down a good deal on upa-5 (the amp i am after, if anyone has one they are intersted in selling please pm me) because i did not want to deal with it being shipped from california. My guess is that i will find a 5 channel amp locally and then find a pre/pro online like the one you mentioned. I am really treating my system with kid gloves right now [] . I am enjoying how simple my system is but do miss that immersive surround sound
  14. Moved my rc-64ii out of the way to make a little more room for components since i am just doing 2.0 system right now. Not much to the picture just thought i would share. I may be moving my system into a bedroom ( i guess you can call it a dedicated theater room []) so i am really considering making or buying some room treatments. My budget is limited though as i still need a pre/pro , amplifier and matching surrounds.

21, 22 for a front stage you need a few
  16. Sweet sub Micheal. Not only ludacris power but looks great too.
  17. Yeah except the driver is not actually broken it is just blemished.
  18. The rc-64ii shed significant pounds from the original version too. My understanding is they used different magnets that weigh less in the drivers. Ive always been the bigger and heavier is better in audio guy but oh well. My opinion is klipsch has yet to regress with any speakers and their newer versions are at least as good as the last. Enjoy the speakers!
  19. Lol i dont think i read OPs first post close enough. He already has the rc-62ii? I say save up your cash for a while and get the rf-82ii. Actually you could buy them now (when you find the price you like) and then run them in stereo until get some extra cash for your surrounds. You can cut a corner by getting rs-42s instead of rs-52s. Or even just just buy a really cheap pair of speakers off of craigslist to run as surrounds until you can afford what you want.
  20. No i think your opinion was good. You are right about one thing, the f-3 is a very bass heavy speaker. I owned a pair for about a month and enjoyed them for what they are. I cant give you a very good review on them since i did not do a whole lot of critical listening with them but it should be noted that the reference series uses a whole different material for their tweeters. I find that i do not crank music or movies too loud anymore so clarity is really important to me, and if you are using a subwoofer the bass should not be an issue. Also if you started with a smaller reference series towers you can always move those to surrounds if you want to go bigger. Jason no that is fine it just seems every single one of your posts has to do with prices. Everyone is trying to build their system slowly here and finding the good deal is part of the fun but its annoying to just go around talking about the prices, my true love is for the speakers.
  21. anyone have a pic of hurds sub? Youve got my attention now.
  22. Awesome more rf-7. Your kid is going to be one lucky guy if he gets those. Once again great photography skills , or camera or whatever. Good eye candy! We are going to need a rf-7 round ii thread eventually
  23. I have that same sub! I also have the rf-7ii. I started with the rf-82. The rf-7ii were like taking a blanket off of the rf-82s. Much clearer. I did not find the rf-82s harsh or fatiguing nor do i find the rf-7ii that way. I would suggest you give the rf-7ii as much breathing room as possible, every little bit more you can give them will help assuming you do really have them snug against the wall. Yeah you may want to look into a huge area rug and some wall treatments. I have always lusted after the studio 100s and the signature paradigms and thought they sounded pretty good too (i heard the studio 60s). With the rf-3ii i do think you have some room to upgrade if thats what you are after.
  24. check out outlaw audio. They have an abundance of 7 channel amps. http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/7200.html the 125wpc amp is only 1k but this one would do you better
