  1. I don't deny what the others are saying here but what it ultimately boils down to is you can forget the names of the speakers, forget the price tags (for the moment), just close your eyes and listen. Every one hears differently, and from speaker to speaker some could hear garbage, and some can hear the gods them selves singing down to them. Every company has its own flavor and it is up to you, what ever makes your heart race, what ever perks your ears, what ever gives you that stupid little grin, that tells you, and only you, that you have picked the right speakers... Your flavor. I my self turned down the opportunity to obtain $1400 (each) speakers for $400 (each), over the ones that tickled me the right way, that ended up being considerably less. both were Klipsch. But from one noob to another, you are doing the right thing, taking your time to listen and thoroughly research, what will ultimately be a something that you will truly enjoy. Good luck with your decisions. jon-
  2. thanks for the heads up
  3. smokarz, thank you very much for the link, there actually is a location near me.
  4. yah thats sam, he is a 14 lbs bichon frise that is cute and fluffy but he is a biter, that picture is an accurate representation of his personality, and i never looked at it that way until you mentioned it, my brother took the picture, the gun is a 30 30 and i just had it lying around on my computer so i put it up there.
  5. i'v seen people take tubes that are used for cement molding and fill those with sand and put them in the corners of rooms for bass traps
  6. does anyone know where to get Owens corning OC 703 besides the internet, i cant find it anywhere, and the only places that sell it on line sell in bulk.
  7. i have a 7.1 receiver and i am using it in a 5.1 set up, so it works just fine, but i also have a question about this, when using it in the 5.1 configuration should the surounds be connected to the rear surounds or the sides?, or does it not matter because there are like 5 movies that make use of all 7 channels
  8. well, yah, i have seen them all over the internet but the lowest price that i could find was around $228, i was referring to not finding them anywhere in stores, best buy in particular, i talked to a salesman and he said they hadn't carried them in almost a year, i guess they just weren't selling.
  9. yah i as well couldn't fin the WS-24s for the life of me
  10. those are some grate deals, if i was in your position i would see if i could grab up more of the wf-34s for the rears, as far as the sides i don't see why the centers wouldn't work, but what you can do is ask the people at best buy to look on their computers and see what best buys around them still have what for how much, and if you get the display models they take 10% off.
  11. in fact i almost got the wf-34s for the surrounds, but i found the 35 for a better deal, as for the two 7th channels i was planning on if i could find more 35 for amazing deals, snatching those up but where i live right now there would be no space, and if the centers would work for those i just might get those for it. i haven't been able to find the proper surround Ws-24s anywhere for a decent price.
  12. i would imagine you could, i saw the center channels for real cheep, the book shelf ones on the other hand i'm still finding for more than the wf-35 towers and even the 34s, is some stores i saw the 34s for more than the 35, i suggest if you have the space for the 35s you get those there worth it.
  13. from what i'v been reading using 2 centers isn't the gratest just because how much sound is channeled through it and you would notice discrepancies between the 2 speakers, as for doubling up the 34s for the fronts, i don't know if you would have to bi-amp your system to do that, but i'm kinda new to all this so if anyone has further input that would be grate for both of us.
  14. Hi every one this is my first post in the forum, i just want to make something known about an absolutely incredible deal that is soon coming to an end, right now the Magnolia theater division of Best Buy has struck up a deal with Energy speakers, and as a result are phasing out some lines of Klipsch, the W and Xb series. the reason i mention this is you can get PHENOMENAL deals on them right now. I have two Wf-35 that i got for $250 each, for the mains, another two Wf-35 for the surounds for $200 each the center Wc-24 for $150 and the Xw-300d for &150. there still there but not for much longer, these speakers i find to have excellent vocals, and for being a rather small sub it shakes my living room quite well. i have the set connected to a Pioneer Elite Vsx-21txh
