Selling my mint Emotiva UMC-1 that will be shipped directly from Emotiva. I recently found out that when selling Emotiva gear you can send it to them, they will run a full check on the unit, fix anything if needed, and ship it to the buyer with a clean bill of health (talk about customer service). That way you know it is as good as brand new gear. Protective plastic still on display, never removed. Comes with all original accessories and packaging. Warranty good through June 20, 2017. Some of the printing has worn off of the remote. Asking $325 and that covers being shipped to your door. Estimated shipping date from Emotiva is May 20, 2013. Does not include 40% off upgrade card.

That's not what he said: Thank you for your email. Klipsch speakers are hyper efficient and do not require massive amounts of power to drive them to their fullest potential. The UPA-500 was designed with speakers such as Klipsch in mind. I talked to two different Emotiva reps on the phone on two different occasions about the XPA line for my then RF-7II setup and they both said that because of the gain of 32db and the efficiency of the speakers they advised against it. They both pushed the UPA line because of the 29db gain and said there would always be a hum with the x series and not the u series.

I'm listening to Boyz II Men's new greatest hits cd right now and I can't imagine how it could possibly sound better! I would love to hear the 105 some day but I know there is no way I could bring myself to spend $1200 on a blu ray player when it already took me forever to justify $500 for this one.

Well I got my Oppo yesterday, hooked everything up and started testing out some blu rays and I was terribly disappointed in the picture quality. I tried watching Avatar in 3D and it actually made me sick to my stomach which 3D has never done. Today I got home from work and went through all the settings and did some tweaking and viola...perfection. The picture is definitely a step up from the PS3 but I don't think I would say night and day. The audio, now that's a different story. The audio on this sounds many many times better than my PS3 did. I've been listening to Pandora and am blown away by how clean the sound is. I think I will have to subscribe to Rhapsody again to listen to whatever I want on my system. I will still continue to tweak it some but all in all I am quite happy now.

My wife rented that 3 days ago from Redbox and we still haven't had a chance to watch it....I know, I know, I'm the reason they don't have it for you to rent. []

If it were me I would scratch both ideas and buy an Emotive UMC-200 pre/pro and either get a new UPA-500(5x80) or a used UPA-5(5x125). Right now the UMC-200 is on sale for $599 and the UPA-500 is $399 and you can find used UPA-5s all the time for around $500. That way for $1000 to $1100 you will have much better quality than anything in it's price range and spend less than you would on the Marantz all by itself. Of the two choices I would go for the used UPA-5 any day of the week for just $100 more. Either amp would be powerful enough to push your speakers but the 125 watts would give you more headroom.

I let him know ahead of time that I needed to know that he was ready to buy and he promised he was and he would give me the full amount. I had almost taken $1650 for them and I'm really glad I didn't. He was super happy to get them for that price anyway.

I had an older gentleman call me today and offer to give me my full asking asking price on craigslist of $1850!!! I couldn't say no. I did have to deliver them a little over an hour away and hook them up for him. He had a pair of Fortes hooked up that he bout in 1989 and they sounded great, they are the first heritage speakers I have heard. THX speakers here I come.

I think the RC-64 would definitely be overkill for the RB-61s. I would not even consider the RC-64 unless you are going with the RF-82s at least. If you are set on using bookshelves I would go with the RB-81 if you have room, get an RC-62, and use the money saved to get some surrounds.Just my opinion though.

Pandora is really cool. I used to have Rhapsody but cancelled it about a year and a half ago. Something tells me I will sign back up again to use it on the Oppo. It is nice to be able to play whatever song you want whenever you want.

Thanks. My LG blu ray player finally bit the dust so I have been using my Fatboy PS3. It gets the job done but I am not crazy about the picture quality plus the fan runs super loud on it after about 20 minutes and it drives me crazy.

Just ordered this morning and it is coming to Ohio all the way from California which means I have to wait a week. This is going to be one long week. It might take me another year, but eventually I will have everything I need for this theater. As soon as my RF-7iis sell I will be ordering an Emo UMC-200 and then the hunt is on for the almighty THX Ultra2 speakers.
