  1. You're right Colin. Have posted set-up in my profile. Primarily focused on HT 75% Music 25%. Budget around $2500. Looking for a bit more soundstage I believe. Have listened to RF3II in controlled setting and was impressed. Guess I could sum this up daying I'd like to go up to the next level if better. In my opinion at this price range I would think the RF35 or RF3II systems (F/C/R) may offer some improvement. Have also considered upgrade of receiver to Denon or HK but have not tested those out. Thanks for your response.
  2. Have felt this coming on for some time now and need to get it treated. Just joined the Klipsch club a few years ago with a KSF8.5 et al 5.1 set-up w/Paradigm PW2200 sub. Currently running all on Onkyo 595. Love this system alot but looking for just a bit more. Listened to the RF3II set up about a year ago and sounded extremely nice. Considering looking for a RF3II trade-in or going with the RF-35 set up. $$$ and availability may rule here. Would appreciate any opinions. Receiver upgrade may be considered also. THX friends!
  3. In a word---PIONEER. I love my 64" but probably above your limit. Think this next level down is the 53". Great reviews.
  4. Agree with most of those mentioned. Gladiator has great opening, Lord of the Rings is rather good throughout. I would like to add small scene but one with major efects. Dragonfly where Kevin Costner goes into another room. Your rears will really bark.
  5. Live right outside of Oklahoma City, OK. Hey EAR - since a noted dipwad (oh excuse me I meant to delete that phrase--damn computer) has "suggested" you work for SVS then you should be able to get a few of us a good deal--right? I'll wait by the phone. Ha--I'm still offended and will be for a while I'm afraid. BTW anyone know how you snag a B-stock? Guessing you just ahve to keep checking. THX
  6. Easylistner--anxious to hear how you like your new best friend after its arrival. I have the PW2200 currently and am thinking of going SVS. Enjoy!!!
  7. I find this extremely offensive... because I don't have one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Running a Paradigm PW2200 with my Klipsch and have been thinking soooooo much about the SVS. Good luck my friend!!!
  8. Not the greatest overall movie but there is one scene in Dragonfly (Kevin Costner) that sure tests your surrounds. Worth the watch. Agree with the others mentioned especially SPR and Gladiator.
  9. Looking for advice or recommendations. Have Onkyo 595 and reasonably happy now. Contemplating upgrade to HK 520/525. Running 5.1 with Klipsch KSF 8.5s (matching series center/rears). Probably 75/25 Movies/Music. Heard many good things about the HK 520 with one neg about Logic 7 problem Good stuff also on 525 (noted fan situation). Big jump in price from 520 to newer 525. Great pricing avail on 520 also. Just wondering if upgrade is justified at this point. Signiicant improvement? Also anyone know anything about the 520-Z? Believe this is the factory refurb 520. Just thinking it might have the Logic 7 problem fixed. THX for your opinions.
  10. Stretch modes for 4:3 material on the widescreens aren't bad. Believe Pioneer does it best with several choices. STB shouldn't impact either decision. I went with 64" HDTV 16:9 Pioneer and never looked back. Happy camper here. Cheers.
  11. Have 'em -- love 'em. Just be careful as the upgrade virus is inherent. I have these matched with the SS1 rears and the KSC-SC1 center along with a Paradigm PW2200 sub. Still trying to upgrade the center to timbre match (need KSF C5) but not much luck finding one at least at a reasonable cost. You won't regret this decision---for now anyway!!
  12. elgrillo---Just wondering if you pursued this any further. The reliableaudiovideo.com was the best I found (not authorized though). Would love to upgrade to the RF3IIs myself.
  13. Thanks for the feedback on my last. Still working the "problem" or situation. Would love to hear from other 595 owners out there. What volume level do you use normally use for (a) DVDs and ( TV/SAT in DPLII? Thanks in advance.
  14. FOlks--probably very stupid question and hopefully easy answer. Have had the 595 for nearly a year now. DVDs played at volume setting of 43-50 depending upon DD or DTS. Now all of a sudden I have to go up to high 50s or low 60s to get the soundstage. DPLII on regular TV works well at low 40s still. I've been through the book and checked the settings. What am I missing? Afraid to fry my lovely 8.5s, SS1s, KSC-C1 and PW2200. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Neither--go Pioneer. But Mits is a nice set!! Just my $.02.
  16. Thanks for the feedback "Keith". I've been hammering this around for a while and you probably even responded to an earlier inquiry I made. Actually still on the hunt but thought I might reaffirm my thoughts until I located one. Maybe your positive response will push me to take my search to the next step.
  17. Happy Klipsch owner here with question. I have pieced together a great system (at least in my mind) for HT and music. KSF 8.5 Fronts, SS-1 rears and KSC-C1 Center, Paradigm PW2200 Sub. I know the better match at center is the KSF-C5. Just wondering if I will actually notice a substantial improvement in sound with this change/upgrade. KSF-C5 pretty hard to find these days. Would appreciate any opinions and ptential sources if known. THX P.S. -- Many thanks to folks on this board for helping me move to Klipsch initially. Very happy listner.
  18. Go with Pioneer/Pioneer Elite. Great stretch modes. Sat feed is very good. Believe me you will get used to a GOOD stretch. TV is great on everything period. I have the 64" and love it. Great WAF too!!
  19. I'm a relative newbie to Klipsch but have fallen in love with my new hobby. Put together an HT system that works pretty good for me. KSB 8.5 mains, SS-1 surrounds and KSC-C1 Center along with AR sub. Question is that I have been advised and research indicates that the correct center for the 8.5s for timbre matching is the KSF C5. Is the C5 a better center and will it make that much difference? Also would be interested in any ideas on locating one if recommended. Would enjoy your opinions and advice. THX in advance!!
