The input valves are Jadis ECC32's. I bought them on the advise of Loreny Tang of www.wiwitubes.com With the mid horns I'm using the first word that comes to mind about the sound is that it is more open, if that makes any sence[*-)]

Just don't mention that your using a SE amp to Al All I can think of is that I have more respect for Al, than Al has for me[] Telling Al you're using a one lunger isn't as bad as telling him you prefer vinyl[^o)]

I've got the hum down to below 2 milli volts using these valves. It also has a Mullards recitfier valve. I much prefer the sound of this amp with the ES in comparasion with the Universal. When I first got the universal networks, and then using the K-77-M's, I used to put a pair of socks in each tweeter at louder volumes. Tweeter Attenuator fixed that problem and now using Ct-125's. I've never heard a valve amp with a type A network. I may have never heard a good type A as the ones I have heard have been over 10 years old.

9 watt Single ended here and after trying 4 different networks, the ES networks are here to stay. I have both the ES4000 and ES5800. I've settled on the ES5800 with the Fastlane mid horn. It's all about personal choice, unfortunately the ES networks aren't cheap, but I'm very pleased I took the punt. The best advice is try a few networks, we're all different.

I've tried AA, AL-3, ALK universals and ALK ES networks. For what I like, the ES networks are the ones for me. I've just up-dated their labels so they're even looking better.Thanks Stan.

The ALK universal network matched up well with the CT-125 in my La-sacalas. I found that the K-77-M was a bit bright with the universals and AL-3's, but great with the attenuator. The K-77 isn't a good performer to my ears. Coating the K-400 so to dampen it, is a cheap and easy mod. Some may not like the ES networks, I certainly do. I found the CT-125's matched up better with the ES4000. We're all different.

G'day CJN, I've tried 3 different tweeters with a few different networks. The K-77 is the one I like the least. The K-77-M sounds better, but it was just to in my face when I was using the AL-3 or the ALK universal networks. It was a good match with the ES5800 although I still took a few dB's out of them. The CT-125 seemed to be a good match for the ALK universals and also the ES4000, I found it to quite with the ES5800. As far as my ears goes the CT-125 is the least sensitive followed by the K-77, and the most sensitive is the K-77-M. I've never heard the K-55-V, I have only ever had the M's is mine and they sound OK. I did coat the K-400 with some sound defusion material. Good luck in your choice.

Talking about just sitting down and listening, I have had 5 different sets of XO's in my LS over the last 25 years. To my ears the ES networks are real music to the ears. The ES 4000 does seem to suit the K-400 best. I can understand that they may not be for everyone, but we're all a bit different when it comes to what we like. I do know that if it were not for these networks, I doubt that I still would be a member of the Klipsch family. One thing that does stand out, is that Who likes to put his boot onto Al whenever he gets a chance.

I like the sound of my ES networks at all volumes, but I must say they are in a league of there own at higher volumes. And also non techno-dweebs, like me.[] This is my first post, so I’m not sure how it's going to look as I can't find a preview button.
