  1. I can't remember if you were the one who was trying the UMC-1 out or not. Did you keep it. I am curious as to why if you did. Also, thanks for your initial impressions.
  2. I have an XPA-3 and XPA-2 that I am experiencing a slight hum. Are you plugging on the same circuit and just a different outlet? I found a way to plug it on a different circuit, but woudl require an extention cord of 20ft+
  3. Definitely out of my budget...trying to stay under $200. I have the XPA3 and XPA2. Thinking of the DIY route if i can make it look good. I am not sure if I feel comfortable putting the amps on glass shevles The two I am currently looking at is this 1. http://www.standsandmounts.com/lovanpreludehi-fiaudiorackblackpre-hfrb.aspx and 2. http://www.standsandmounts.com/sanusaccuratefurnitureseries4shelfmodularaudioracksystemblackafab.aspx
  4. I am currently looking for a component stand online since I cannot find anything where i live but its proving to be very difficult, especially when I want to place 2 80+lb amps on the shelves and a receiver that will probably weight 30lbs.
  5. Very nice. Do you have your Tv wallmounted. It seems too far away from the wall. Also, do you like the Pioneer 1120? Again, great setup
  6. Guys..stop it......(sniff)....you make me feel so welcomed here (sniff) :-)

    Good deal???

I paid pretty much $350 each for my RF-82's this past summer if that provides some reference.
  8. Sooo....I just pulled the trigger myself on the RC-64II. Now I have no money for all the blu-rays I want to snag next week during Black Friday. lol. It will be a while before I get the RF-7II. I also got an xpa-2 and xpa-3 earlier this month. can't wait to get an avr with preouts to check it out (crossing my fingers for a christmas present :-) )
  9. I would imagine both setups you will enjoy. My recommendation and this is sort of what i did earlier this year/summer is buy the whole setup one time (impatience). I am trying to be patient and get piece by piece. I have the RF-82I's (which i think sound very good) and I just bought RC-64II. It will be a while before i get the RF-7II and a proper sub (and avr...). What is your budget? Like i said, I just bought the RC-64 at, what i think is a very good price and have no idea what price u are getting these used RF-7
  10. Thanks for the replies. I am trying to decide between this and the Denon 3311. and unsure about the EmoQ. I am willing to tweak it, but unsure if I want the ease of use/automatic setup or not. Have any of you guys compared it to an Audyssey implementation. I know this is a very "to each their own" topic but I would like to hear your opinions. The 40% deal off your next processor makes it more affordable to upgrade the processor since its the one that you are most likely changing often. Also the emobucks they are offering right now makes it really nice and have the possibility to get the UMC for $599 compared to the denon 3311 (cheapest offer for me was $750)
  11. Hey guys, not to change subject/thread crap, but I am curious, why did you purchase the umc-1 over something like, say a pioneer 1120, or a denon 3311?
  12. Thanks. Actually, my interest in the RF 7's started with you. haha. I returned the RB 61 II's, as I will be moving my RF-82's to surround duty once I can get the RF-7 II. I have a price of $2,400 for a pair. Is that a good deal?
  13. Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, it seems the RF7 II's would make a great sound stage and I am really interested in them. I think they will last me a long time compared to just having RF82's as fronts and bookshelf speakers in the back. I think i am willing to start with just a little bit as I was so eager to get a complete 5.1 system. Will be doing some more reading and other opinions are welcome. My gf is not going to be too happy about this.
  14. Hello all, I am new to this forum and new to HT. I have had Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers for quite some time and have now bought a plasma since the beginning of this year to start off with HT. I am already learning alot but have more to learn. I recently (this summer) bought RF 82's and RC62 for my system (Onkyo 507 that I am planning on upgrading to something like a Denon 3311 or a Pioneer 1120 - still trying to decide - and a Emotiva XPA 3 in the future). After the new Reference II series came out, I have seen so much talk about how great they are over the Reference I. Even more talk about RF63's > RF 82s. Anyways, back to what I want to ask I recently purchased the RB 61's I, and they sent me the RB61 II. I am trying to figure out if I should keep them or not as I couldn't find any info about mixing these with the older reference line, other than noticing a difference between two complete systems (all Reference I vs all Reference II). Along my readings of RF 63's vs RF82s, I have read and seen how beautiful the RF7 II's are. Which leads me into my next question. Would it make more sense to return the bookshelf speakers and use my RF82s as rears, and in the future get some RF 63/83s or RF 7's for the fronts? Of course, I would have to upgrade the center as well. I am happy with what I have now (RF 82 and RC62) but I know I would appreciate a better sound and not feel like I want to upgrade any time soon. Am I going to crazy with this?
