  1. I still enjoy listening to my 11 year old Synergy series for the most part, sometimes during long listening times my ear's do fatigue from the 90 degree x 40 degree Tractrix horn, I have used the tissue paper mod' with decent results... I am thinking of a x-over modification I have 2 spare 360 degree Linaeum (top of cabinet mount) tweets' I am thinking of puchasing a 3 way x-over, cutting the Tracrix off at midrange level & feeding the khz to the 360 tweeter. Would I be wasting my time, being that the Tractrix is so efficient ? or even thinking the horn could sound good (as midrange ?) I'm not a total novice, but I would love to hear from any/everybody if this is a bad idea. Thanks in advance...
  2. Found a drop in replacement (Kicker comp.8 ) 30- 500 Hz. Only difference, it has 4 extra screw holes... Sounds good, gives me a couple of lower octaves. best part - buy 1 get 1 free (Crutchfield)
  3. The Dayton SD215A-88 should work with the connectors wired together...yeah ? It is only a 70 watt internal amp. in this cabinet.
  4. Thanks, I was looking for one w/ a rated freq. response of 32 or lower...
  5. I was so concerned about my main, I didnt even think about the amp. inside of the cabinet !! I've looked through my Madisound & Parts Express mags'...they dont offer many 8inch -8ohm sub drivers, any other good resources off the top of your head ? Thanks-
  6. Yikes ... those look tremendous!!!! Sorry but if you have to crank some Canadia' Rock, eh, you have to spin Rush, Neil w/ Crazy Horse or at least- Guess Who...Nothing can make Nickelback (or a pickle) sound good...
  7. It's almost like a vibration "buzz", clearest when you put yer' ear close to the dust cap... I unscrewed each peice,(1 at a time) then rescrewed... driver, amp/x-over & pass. rad., to make sure all parts were not touching/rubbing anywhere...wires to cone, foam, plastic amp. encloser, I'm thinking it does sound like a vibration, more than a damaged voice coil...Any idea's ? Thank You/Cheers
  8. Might I have problems hurting my integrated amplifier replacing the 8 in. (8 ohm) with a 8 in. 4 ohm driver ? (Klipsch SW8-II)... Thanks
  9. What's the price of the updated driver ?
  10. Hello - New to the forum, I just picked up an old SW-II for $35 I think it is their entry level sub. It's in real good shape but the worse the signal - (fm, cable t.v. ch.) the more I'm thinking the voice coil is going out (crackling) question is, does anybody know of a decent entry level 8" replacement driver? The fq. is 32 hz. w/ a 70 watt amp & an apposing 10 in. passive radiator
