Thanks, - Jplatel5000 If anyone requests photos, let me know, ill be removing drivers over the next couple days
  3. Last try before I part them out 450 OBO
  4. parting them out is looking fairly likely at the moment I like the sound, but I found a pair i like better, That being said, I dont feel like investing any more time or money into the speakers. Ill wait a few days and see if anyone is interested in the whole package, if not, ill list components individually
  5. well, ill give it a day or 2 and put them out on the curb
  6. gotta start somewhere Im open to any and all offers. Im just hoping that I dont have to part them out to get what i need out of them If they are as beat as you make them out to be, then parting them out may be a viable option...and might help you sell them faster to non local buyers. Just my .02 can That would be a shame... Anyone need cornwall parts and some firewood?

  8. i dont know how to delete it I also dont have a camera, just my cell phone, that being said ill try to get some up, but they are delaminating quite bad at the bottoms
  9. These are a pair of exceptionally beat up Klipsch cornwalls, They function and are in my current setup, but i found a different pair of speakers i would like and these need to go for me to fund the new purchase EXCEPTIONALLY beat up is an understatement, they have considerable water damage, delamination, and veneer damage, and would need extensive cabinet restoration. or you can just ignore the cosmetic damage and listen to them as is ( like I currently am) Asking $550 or best reasonable offer Theyre located in Binghamton NY
  10. the dl-110 seems to be a great match for my td-165 and mcintosh c29 pre. i like the cart alot
  11. ive been happy with the C29. its a nice quiet multi-purpose preamp with a great(in my opinion) phono stage. Is a tuner of importance to you? although it might be out of your price range, not sure. ive heard its supposed to be alot better than the 26, and at least a little better than the 28 Not sure how much I really want to spend I'm thinking around $700-$800 but may go higher ?You should definitely be able to find a C29 in that range.
  12. power tubes are all electro harmonix 7591a. it does look a little funny in the photo though! sounds great

  14. just thought id mention that a 299D came in. i bought it from a forum member here. Sonance84 packed it exceptionally well and it arrived when expected and in the correct number of pieces. set it up a couple days ago and have been listening to it since it came in the door. its sitting on a cornwall right now. in the middle of rearranging.

  16. i bit the bullet and it looks like there is a NOSvalves rebuilt H.H. SCOTT 299D on its way to my house in Albany!
  17. apparently they sound awesome. there was a beautiful one sitting at audio classics in Vestal NY a couple weeks ago. Never got a chance to listen to it though.
  18. thanks everyone for the advice, i guess my original thought process regarding cost was somewhat naive. i think i will try to find one for sale already restored to avoid as many of the unknowns, mistakes, and issues as possible. That being said, anyone got one for sale. I posted in the garage sale forum a while back and got no response.
  19. the second book you listed is only 3 dollars, whereas the first one is a staggering 45! (on amazon anyway) Ill definitely keep my eyes out for them. Thanks for the info
  20. im definitely a tinkerer at heart, although my lack of electrical skills prevent me from taking on this task im on a pretty tight budget(4-700 or so) And the HH SCOTT amps seem to be a good value for the dollar. a simple, decent quality integrated tube amp with a decent phono stage is what i need. and the scott seemed to fit that bill perfectly. I cant afford thousands in tube separates unfortunately. also, the new chinese stuff that i can afford seems to be hit or miss with build quality, customer service, and resale value. Anything you can recommend in my price range i will certainly take into consideration.
  21. one of my turntables is a denon. definately a solid starter direct drive, although im not sure about that price
  22. maybe you could try picking up a turntable? its an interesting road to go down, and i certainly don't regret doing so myself! Although be warned, you may spend much of your free time at garage sales and thrift stores looking for records.I understand that this is not really an upgrade so to speak, but why upgrade unless the current system sounds unsatisfactory to your ears?
  23. what WOULD the straight parts cost be? lets just say a full set of caps. Just out of curiousity, how hard is it to work on these amps? Is it something that could be learned rather quickly? If so, i might try to learn myself.
