I won't be able to even think about getting them for a few weeks. So I wanted to inform the forum, because any other member is obviously more than welcome to them.

I think these are KG5.5s. Also the Marantz receiver is a SR63 and the CD is an OC4 according to the seller. I was/am interested, but the funds are not just floating around at this point. Maybe I can make it work, but I thought I would put it out to others on the forum. Just in case someone was interested.

Glad you missed out,you had no interest in them other than flipping em at a mega profit.
Hope thats a joke, as he has KG4s and Forte IIs so the Chorus II would be something he would enjoy hearing in my opinion. Wanting a great deal is never a problem.

Lets get Klipsch and Oppo a nice win.

I think the point so far is that the drivers need no replacement if working. The capacitors in the cross-overs can (and most likely should) be replaced, but that is really for later. I like to listen to a new speaker for a while before making any changes. The capacitors can wait a while while you enjoy the speaker. Price always depends on location. I was surprised at how low was suggested as a good price. But Maybe I have just grown accustomed to seeing overpriced on Chicago Craigslist.

Make sure to ask for pictures for the 5000s. Why do you want the 500s? Making heresy 2s with passive? They are good speakers, but his have a few cracks. Just make sure you get pictures. I don't think there is any issues, but just saying. I had been talking with him but passed for now.

Well there is no set "budget". This is not something I am shooting for in the next month, but more what I am striving for overall.

So look for an Epik at first. Then build something myself or get an rsw-15.

price?
Price range can very all over the place. I was thinking something like this for now
http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/ele/3654136483.html
Then keep my open for a RSW-15 unless someone gives me a better sub option for the price.
And I could always enlist my father for help building one as well. Size does not really matter for my main system, but if I do build a few different kinds, the others will have to be smaller to move to other systems.

I am looking for some advice for the Chorus II system. I am looking for a subwoofer for the low frequency effects for movies and the very bottom range for music. I am looking for a few different types of responses.
Types of responses:
1. Inexpensive but will give me a base response for movies (remember the Chorus II has 15" woofer and 15" passive)
2. Home Theater and music sub that I will be completely happy with buying (either new or used)
3. The build-it at home to get the job done right option.
I am looking though the forum for recommendations to others, but everyone is always up for a sub debate.

My fiance has at first been very "protective" if I say I am buying something from "the internet". Most of the time, if I am meeting someone from craigslist, she does get very nervous. But now if I say they are from "The Forums", so does not think anything of it at all. I have met a few members. Have enjoyed the systems of two (hopefully more shortly), and find it an interesting place. I have pointed this observation out to others that still "get nervous" about it. This is a great forum.

That answers the question about if it did PCM decoding, which I though it did. Now the question is does PCM from an Oppo 83 sound better than 7.1 analog from an Oppo 83? That would be something I am willing to experiment with. I will continue to consider the purchase, but I would expect you to move forward with any other offers that come up. If I miss out that is my own fault.

Both responses are a big help.

These speakers are one that I do want to get eventually. And they are in oiled oak too. Just so hard, but I have to pay for my wedding and honeymoon here in the next two months, so I cannot spend it now. Also, i do need to get to buying a TV eventually too.
It is so difficult to pass up as I am in Fort Wayne as well. I have been so swamped at work to have been absent from this forum for far too long. Good luck with the sale and I hope they end up at a good place.
