Thanks for the reply, Tom.
I'll set my sights on some good quality Birch Plywood.
Hopefully my CNC programmer can do some magic and cut these out for me.
It will save a lot of time and hassle and another plus is that my neighbor is a furniture repairer/Upholsterer and will do the the re-grilling for me.
Thank You everyone for your help!!!!

I have used 14 gauge Carol wire from Home Depot for years and it has served me well no matter the speaker/amp terminal connections. (binding posts, terminal screws, or spring loaded).
This is just my .02 worth.

The only thing I can think of is playing the 'Family Heir Loom' trump card.
Good Luck!!!

Then, A.N. is correct.. They are '73's.
Nice pick-up.
Since I don't have a WAF problem, someone else will have to give you advice on that.
Here is a site I use in determining Date codes..

Hi:
There should be more to the S/N than 341 & 342. Like a letter in between.
i.e 111?341 & 112?342
OL= Oak Laquer

Thanks, Dylanl.
My Question #2 wasn't worded very well.
My Question #2 should be: Are all 4 panels the same shape? i.e the notches on the bottom. (opposite side of the beveled edge).
Thanks

Hi:
I have a couple questions regarding the side grills for '78 K-horns (WO B style).
1. What kind of plywood was used for these grills? I found an old thread that Andy (HDRbuilder) mentioned to use Baltic Birch. This type of plywood is very hard to find in my neck of the woods unless it is special ordered. Since I'm looking for one 4x8 piece, no place will even think about ordering. (I want to keep the speakers as original as possible)
2. Are all the grills the same shape/size? All but 1 side grill is trashed so I have no idea if all four are the same design.
Thank You in advance for your help!!

Owner32:
You can purchase bucking magnets from Klipsch, if they still have them in stock. I can't remember the prices, but they were reasonable.
Other members may have alt sources to purchase these magnets.
JJ
P.S. Use the SEARCH engine (above, right) and put in... bucking magnets..
There is a lot of info on this subject.
Also, Welcome to the Forum!!!

I believe that this is the same guy (Don Gurney ?) that made the Mini-K-horns that Greg bought.
Very nice work, indeed!!!

Funny you mentioned that..I thought I was in a scene from Cops, you know where they show the inside of garbage houses.
Lucky for me, I only had negotiate the obstacle course carrying a top section of one of the K-horns.
You sure could tell they are/were strapped for cash, so hopefully it didn't go up in smoke, and I'm not talking about the legal kind of smoke.
I look at it as I rescued a pair K-horns from a bad situation and now they are in a better place. [smile>

Tom:
I was the one that bought the "Klitch" K-horns that were located in Richfield.
Yes, those Cornwalls were in rough shape and knew they needed alot of work so that why I passed on them.
As for the K-horns, it would have been a better deal if the woofers were not rotted out, but still got them at a good price. New replacements from BEC got me running again.
There is some veneer damage but all in all the corners are good and with a little stripping and re-oiling they will look very presentable until I get the funds to reveneer.
I would like to see some after pictures of those Cornwalls, Tom.

Greg:
I had the same problem with my '78 K-horns when I bought them.
It was the battery trick that pretty much told the story that the woofers were shot.
After taking out the woofers, both dust caps were dislodged and the paper cones were barely attached. Not sure if this was due to abuse or they just rotted out because they were stored in a garage for an extended period of time
I purchased a pair of K-33E's from Bob (BEC) and now everything is fine.
Bob was very helpful throughout the testing process and sent out the NEW replacements very quickly.
I believe Bob has some for sale on e-bay right now and I can't recommanded anyone better to buy from.
eBay item #5761194786
Hope this helps!!
