  2. Forgot the review. Like this guy says a LOT of bang for the buck. The only way I will ever sell mine is if I can find one in Cherry http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/subwoofers/svs-pb12-plus-2/page-3
  3. Hey Lou I just went through this back in Oct. Did not know what a SVS was but took a chance on it and absolutely love the thing. I paid 700 then saw one in the 550 range shortly after. The thing is HUGE is the only draw back I can see if you don't have the room. Also the member I bought it from had it on a second floor bedroom with hard wood floors it sounded like crap. For now I only use it in HT with LaScalas L+R with a HIII center soon to be all HIII LRC I just need to cut up my TV stand to get it to fit. This was my experience with SVS, take some time and look around? http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/154002.aspx?PageIndex=1
  4. Plus one on Brothers in arms!![Y] I'm running K-Horns with a center and the way "Why Worry" brought the drum solo to the center stage down right gave me a chill... Good stuff![]
  5. There is a store in NW Chicago called Simply Stereo they have the full heritage line in one room. Start with Heresy's then Cornwall's LaScalas and then K-Horns. The fist time I did this after the K-Horns I switched to the newest top of the line RF. I looked at the owner with the WTF were they thinking look and just got a smile back. Just my two cents but after owning the entire line my guess is you will end up with the K-Horns at some point may as well plan on it.
  6. Some do some don't. If your in theChicago land area stop over and spin a few. FWIW just got Jimmy D. Lane with Double Trouble SACD 12.50 sounds GREAT! what a bargin.
  7. just got Jimmy D. Lane with Double Trouble "it's time" SACD in the mail today. at 12.50 acousticsounds.com it's a great bargin. Sounds hot!
  8. Check E-Bay also some sellers have good size stores. Just watch the price, today one has wish you were hear as a buy it now 100.00 wile www.musicdirect.com still has new stock.
  9. For blues be sure to try Junior Wells come on in this house. Great sounding SACD Get it befor she sells his monkey!! LOL
  10. Nice but 15K is a bit out of my price range, I think I could offer my C2300 and a left nut! Some day....sigh
  11. That was my first thought but not sure want work done is worth.. Here is a nice Scott 299-C integrated amp. The 299-C is one of the best Scotts ever made. This one has been serviced with a new P.S. can on top and 'lytics underneath. Signal and bypass caps replaced as well as the troublesome selenium rectifier with a silicon bridge. Controls and sockets cleaned with Deoxit. Tubes are all vintage: RCA/Westinghouse 7591's, RCA 12ax7's, Phillips 6u8A's, and a Mullard 5ar4 rectifier The amp sounds wonderful. Huge low end, smooth mids and highs and that classic Scott imaging and sound signature. Looks aren't perfect, but still presents pretty well for an amp this age. See pics.
  12. My son is looking for an amp for his Cornwalls He has tried an old SS amp and my TAD 60 and TAD 150 tube amp pre amp he is leaning towards tube. So the question is any one have any experience with a Scott 299-C we found one that is restored with a 599 ask. Price high or average?
  13. Looks Good! what a difference [Y] I hope you don't get transferred any time soon you just took on a lot of weight to move around..LOL
  14. I'm not an expert so just my two cents, I use three mono blocks so I can run about 3/4 output to the K-Horns and almost full out the HIII I like this set up well enough that I also have a pair of LaSalas and to date never tried one as a center.
  15. My wife wants me to try my new SVS in the neighbors basement.[]
  16. PLUS ONE on that[Y] Your going to end up spending 1K on two subs 300 on the cheep one then 700 on one you like. Or you could spend 500 now and have the wife asking why this giant box is in our living room. Try renting Private Parts tonight. []
  17. Front to back about the same as a LaScala and about 3/4 the height.
  18. Ya it's a bit large, tell her it's more fun than than washer to sit on. That should tip it in.[6]
  19. Try begging and tell her if things get tight you can flip it for 700[]
  20. I had a Klipsh SW12 hit by lightning and Mirage1000W 12' Blew up real good.. So a pair of not to shabby of subs and if I didn't know anything else I would be happy with that level. But I have got to tell you if you can wait for a SVS to come along it will be worth the wait. I never thought there could be that much difference but this thing just flat out blows me away. I paid 700 for mine worth every penny.
  21. I'm also not crazy about this one but a better deal than the cube? If your going to spend on something you won't like save all you can. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/2658659383.html
  22. 7 1/2" 25 lbs new 699 used avg 400 My guess is 10 of them still would not equal the svs wait for a good one. of course if the money is burning a hole in you pocket I can send you my address. I have a 10" 1000W that stopped working I bet it's almost as good as the 7" IMHO [:@]
  23. Still no luck with the SVS guy?
  24. Give the SVS guy one more day you won't be sorry if he still has it. I picked up one on the 11th. WOW!!!!!!! http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/154002/1622157.aspx#1622157
