  1. Just got done watching episodes 3 and 4. Revenge of the sith (e3) picture is as good as avatar and the sound is as good as anything I have ever heard. New hope has a really good picture but the sound isn’t even close to episodes 1, 2, and 3. []
  2. Another subject for sure but I honestly don't think "3D" has the traction to stay around. My family has rejected 3D for our next tv. We are just not gonna sit around with special glasses on. you likely wont have to buy into 3d it will probably end up being a feature with every tv set shortly and im right with you on not purchasing a 3d tv im not sure why many would rant with the star wars bluray? its being edited and enhanced with qualities that were not in the movies previous, ill go one further and make the biggest star wars sin by saying i wish they redid the entire first 3 movies over with new cast to give it a real update rather than continually re-releasing them as a cash crop (i enjoy star wars but the first 3 are somewhat painful to watch by todays standards as with many "classics") I like all the movies. The first 3 are amazing stories with epic struggle and power. And the last 3 are amazing effects and audio tracks that really make you smile though the whole movie (fun). It’s funny you say that about remaking the first 3. I have said that many times over the years. Someday I hope they do remake them. They could do so much to the first one to make it so much better. I can see why lucas changes stuff he has said he isn’t happy with them yet. It was an 11 million dollar movie. Even in today’s money that is a super cheap movie. I’m the same way with music. If the audio sound isn’t really good I don’t like it. To me the sound is just as important as the music itself. (Probably why I love pink Floyd so much but can’t stand the rolling stones)
  3. That’s going to sound awesome dude! I’m sure you are very excited. I’m not sure what I would do but an all heritage set up would be very tempting if you have the room. What are you thinking for a sub? Ps. stay safe []
  4. Dude that’s harsh star wars sitting there and ps3 goes down man I feel for yea. Disconnect everything even the internet. If you use wireless unplug the router. Then start over with system video set up.
  5. I would steal them if I was your son lol. I would mow the lawn for the next 30 years if i had to. [6]
  6. 99% of the reviews are from before the movies even came out (look at the dates). Everyone one was freaking out about a few changes made. My guess is of the 1200 bad reviews 1199 of them will buy them and love them. []
  7. Heh that's an understatement. I personally will not buy any Star Wars blu ray/dvd that doesn't include the original theatrical release. George Lucas, 1988 All I can say is YOUR LOSS! Just finished watching episode 1 and 2 and all I can say is wow. They could be the best audio tracks I have ever heard (they are really that good!). You can take the stuff he does personal but you’re only hurting yourself (the guy has billions of dollars so going on star wars strike means very little to him). It’s funny because people want the new hd video and want the new hd multi-channel audio that wasn’t in the original theatrical releases and have np with him changing that part. But when he changes something they don’t like all of a sudden lucas ruined the movies. I have seen the original theatrical release movies in the theater and I can only shake my head at how they looked and sound compared to these. What we have now with these blu rays is a million times better. I couldn’t be happier with the job they did. People change their opinions all the time. I’m sure we are all guilty of it in our lives. Can you imagine if you were held to every opinion you ever had? []
  8. Just got this and it looks and sounds amazing. I know some people aren’t happy with a few changes but this is a must have. Not sure I have ever heard a movie with so much going on in the surrounds as ROTS.
  9. Those do look very nice yoth. It looks like the tv shielding on them adds a good ¼ inch of size and weight around it as seen on the last pic you posted. (Very beefy though for sure). Do you have two pairs in the house? I see you have a set listed in your 2 channel. And your son has a pair as well?
  10. I think they both look great. I will say plastic feet on a 90lb speaker wouldn’t be my first choice though. The gold metal on the feet is a nice touch imo. They need to be put up on spikes if you have carpet or they will just sink down in the carpet and look stupid.
  11. Ever wonder what the new rf-7ii looks like side by side with the old rf-7. Wow they make them look small. []
  12. They use different drivers and horns but 3 db is a lot so I’m not sure. []
  13. Wow if they raise the price of the rf-7ii 20% they would cost with sales tax 4108 a pair.
  14. $3800.00 is not a bad price, espescially since Klipsch just increased prices 20% across the board. There were some crazy deals going on about 1 to 2 months ago, before the price hike. If you haven't received them yet, you could refuse shipment, but I don't think your price was "unfair." If you have received them, the serial # will have a "B" at the end that indicates B-Stock. If yours are B-Stock, I would complain and or ship them back. I don’t see a markup on most of the speakers just the rc-64ii. Did they just not change the prices yet on their sight?
  15. Wow retail on the rc-64ii is now $1400 []
  16. 6mo holy cow that’s way too long they should sent you a new sub before making you wait that long.
  17. My couch isn’t in the middle of the room. I’m very aware of the middle of the room bass problems. My center channel is angled right at ear level and sounds amazing. My front speakers are almost 2ft from the back wall. I actually like them a little closer to the back wall but the svs sub is so deep I had to pull them out more to make the whole stage flush. I would love to move the front speakers away from the side walls more but it’s a narrow room so it’s that or keeping them separate from the center enough to have good separation. I tried both and my picture tells you what sounded better. I just upgraded to 7.1 and moved nothing to fit it so not sure what I compromised to have 7.1. As for room response here is my bass response at the LP. Not perfect but pretty flat. You have a nice set up Westcott I hope you set it up the way you like it. I know I did. []
  18. My point is if you want your speakers only producing 80Hz-20kHz (or 40Hz-20kHz), you need to set them up that way, not rely upon the word of an SVS tech guy or pray that every audio engineer only encodes 40 or 80Hz on up to the mains, center, and surround channels. As much faith as you might place in the SVS guy, according to your posts, you lose nothing by setting your speakers to small and crossing them at 40Hz. On the other hand, you gain the knowledge that even if an engineer puts some 20Hz content on your surround channels, you will hear it as intended. Ok my last reply on this. Stephen lets agree to disagree cool?
  19. I would choose just the sub but you should try both and see what you like. It’s all about your taste your room and your gear. One thing I will say don’t just do a quick a/b test. Try it one way for a week then another. Give whatever you try a chance.
  20. no offense but you guys are ruining the allution of full range home theatre. Lol 80-20,000 is full range to me. (as long as there is a sub in the room[])
  21. , and then 11.2 - why not? Well I guess I should have said 5.3 to 7.3
  22. It means any given DVD or Blu Ray can send 20Hz material to your main, center, or surround speakers which will not be reproduced properly on your system, unless you set your speakers to small, or they are actually capable of competently reproducing the material (which even your RF-7s are not). Do you have any evidence beyond the word of an SVS tech that no DVD/Blu Ray disc ever made (or that ever will be made) will not send content below 50Hz to your mains/center/surround speakers? That entirely depends on the music, doesn't it???? Organ music can definitely go below 30 or even 20Hz. Ever made? lol Ok now your just nitpicking I said most music to make a point I’m very aware there is music that can hit 20 Hz wow really? If you don’t believe me that’s fine audio engineers mix movies to Dolby standard or very very close to it. They mix to the standards that will be used in the theaters and the disks which in this case is Dolby and DTS (80hz) They don’t sit there and think well people have bass management so who cares what Dolby and dts say let’s let them figure it out. If you want to make your case by saying that .05% of blu rays have content below 50 Hz to all channels by all means but that’s just nitpicking if you ask me. There is no right or wrong here so I’m not sure why your trying to discredit me by mixing my words to say what I clearly never said. Also how is your definition any different than mine of full range?
