  1. You could use a db meter put it 1 meter away and start there. Everyone’s set up is different some use the eq in the avr some don’t and so on.
  2. They (emo sub) got a great review on Audioholics, but they seem to gush over everything emo puts out. If you feel that the subs won’t go to waste if and when you did upgrade then I guess trying them can’t hurt. At $500 I would look at what else is out there epik makes a 2 12” (epik legend) for same price and if you buy 2 you get $100 off so 2 for 900. I have the big brother (Epik Empire) just an amazing sub for $800 just as good as the 1400 svs sub I have. http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/subwoofers/ultra-12 http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CB4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.epiksubwoofers.com%2F&ei=Z2DpTcDAGuPt0gG1haW8AQ&usg=AFQjCNFpHqlLSqhm0KlN7UfEVTlAlqpjCg
  3. Lol I mean this in the nicest way but your nuts lol[] you never know if the speakers will even still be there when you get there. Even if the guy guarantees he will wait for you he’s a stranger. Can you imagine driving 10hrs and getting there and having him just not answer the door cause he took the sure $ from the first guy to show. And have to drive 10hrs back empty handed $200 dollars in gas, and a whole day down the drain. Wow
  4. It’s only a best guess but with those glass doors and all the stuff on the shelves it probably won’t matter what type of sub you get sealed or front ported. Bass waves are non-directional so the whole room gets pressurized. Ill guess those glass doors will probably vibrate anyways but how much will depend on sub placement. most subs vibrate unless it’s a sub that’s designed to cancel out vibrations(like epik subs but they won’t fit in there) If money is tight I would agree 2 subs are better than one but another option would be to get 1 mid-priced sub now then another one down the road. If I would have taken that advice I would have saved a good amount of money. You have had good luck buying used so far so that might be a good place to start for a sub. No disrespect to the emo subs but there not even in the same league as your rf-7 set up. I know coming from no subs anything will seem like a huge improvement but just giving you advice from my many mistakes. []
  5. The RS stuff is pretty good rs-42 or rs-52 would both probably sound good with that set up. Also I would probably go with a different brand sub. Nothing wrong with klipsch subs just better subs for your money out there.
  6. 1000 is a good price (rf-63) but 1250 seems a little high for usedones. That’s probably why he wasn’t able to sell them. 1000 for rf-83 seems like a great deal if they are in good shape
  7. I personally would not put subs in a cabinet like that. Can’t say for sure but I’m going to guess you will get loud vibrations at certain frequencies. Also emo subs are probably descent for the price but in your set up I would get something that digs lower to match with the 7s
  8. The rs-62ii is a very nice speaker, and its design is 100% surround duty. So imo they will work better than the rf-82s in most cases (everyone’s room and taste is different). They are a little bit spendy but i got a pretty good deal on mine so at the right price I would jump on them you won’t be disappointed. I agree as well about the movie theater experience. I went last week to see kung fu panda 2 and to me the sound wasn’t even close to what comes out of the rf-7ii,rc-64ii (the massive amount of bass I have always helps lol) grats on the new avr
  9. If the avr is going to be everything (power and processing) don’t go cheap. You will get what you pay for, and if you buy cheap you will get cheap. Imho find the model at your price point then find the one above it on sale or used and get that one.
  10. I had the rf-82s paired with the rc-62 and would definitely say that’s what I would get. No reason you can’t find a pair for your budget. I would look for around 30% off or better.
  11. I watched shoot em up last night on blu ray. The movie got perfect scores on blu ray.com (that don’t always matter much) for pic, sound, and movie. I have over 200 blu rays and can say it’s one of the top 2 or 3 sounding blu rays I’ve ever heard wow!! [] And paid $6 for it new on amazon []
  12. I gave mine to my dad he uses them as mains, they sound great []
  13. Lol yes it’s hard to follow a little bit but yes they love the klipsch over there.
  14. So do you believe in god and not religion? Or don’t believe in either? (sorry unclear a little on you stand)
  15. Klipsch needs you on the pay roll
  16. When you stop and really take in just how powerful the sun is and then know it’s just a spec to the power of god. Kind of makes me teary lol
  17. Yes that’s how I understood it as well only the rf-7ii (timbre match) to the rc-64ii. There is another official klipsch forum I think its uk or germen not sure I will give you the link you might have to google the addy and translate it but I think my link has it for you already. I agree 100% I would be very upset if they raised the price and then lowered the quality. I have heard the original rc-64 in an ht set up and it sounds very good (with the rf-83). It’s a different sound but very powerful, and clean (I would be very happy with it) I can say with a good amount confidence that the new rf-64ii is just as good as the old one in its different way(matching sound to the rf-7ii) I just can’t see klipsch going cheaper on quality and then raising the price. http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.pauls-reference.de/forum/index.php%26hl%3Den%26site%3Dwebhp%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=de&u=http://www.pauls-reference.de/forum/index.php%3Fsid%3D70ea78d94f778395859cc061ba50bb51&usg=ALkJrhhPsMj3Idy--z54l_qbo7rWakIMOQ
  18. To try and comprehend anything that complicated is difficult and some people need it to be more understandable to put their heart into it. Sometimes it takes being able to see it firsthand (I would be dead a long time ago without god in my life) I always say look up at the sun. You can roughly put 1 million earths inside that star and it will burn for billions of years. Things that massive are beyond our simple minds to ever truly grasp. And the sun is a tiny spec in the universe. I do agree that religion is man-made but man was created by god so is there a difference?
  19. I read that they use the lighter neodymium magnets. I don’t know for sure but I know that those magnets are lighter whether they are better or not I have no idea. I do know that too much magnet can be over kill, and more isn’t always better. The new rc-64ii is being timbre matched to a different speaker then before (rf-83 rf-63) so maybe matching it to the rf-7ii has something to do with it to. You would think if they skimped on the new 6.5s, and used a weaker version in the new speaker that the stats wouldn’t be improved like they are. I guess only they know
  20. You think you will get an avr soon? At least something cheap to watch movies?
  21. Well video shielding would matter if the tv was a tube tv and the speakers were close enough to matter. The rc-64ii is still shielded though.
  22. Here’s the new rf-7ii no wrap around the magnet for the video shielding.
