  1. I got these from The Tube Store recently. They sent me a quad of these as replacements because I was having trouble with another brand of KT88's from them.
I found another dealer for the tubes I prefer, so these are up for your consideration.

I put about 4 hours on these with no problems. They sound great, but are not as extended in the bass as my preferred tube, and I gotta have the bass with my speakers. What they do well though, is image focus. They are spooky good in this regard, so if you need a boost in imaging, these are your tubes.

I will take $120 shipped CONUS, any form of payment is fine. These are basically new, just tested in the amps. Come with original boxes with The Tube Store testing. They are the standard clear glass JJ's.

    Thanks very much

  2. Receiver ay... There are 2 that stand above all others IMO. Yes, above all, including the biggest and most expensive. The Pioneer SX-1250 and the Marantz 2330 (not the 2330B). The 1250 is tonally perfect with tons of reserve and bass slam. Very nice soundstage accuracy.

The 2330 is a little more colored, but in a good way, having a very dimensional midrange. It puts the artists more in the room, and it has some tube flavor to it in the dimensional sense.

The Yamaha CR-2020 and the Sansui 9090DB get mention as well. If they had a bit more weight in the low end, they would be in the same class as the above.

  3. 10.31mm too large? Switch Craft RCA Connectors (get the long body) are very good, and are typically small enough for vintage gear. Can you solder? Mogami 2549 Mic cable is absolutely wonderful interconnect. It is 2 wire with copper shield, so land the shield at the source end only. This is how I run them, and they sound fantastic!

If the barrels touch, it shouldn't make any difference. It all goes to one place inside.

If you don't solder, get the materials and send them to me. I'll terminate them for you, just pay the shipping!

  4. $55 Shipped CONUS!  Gold Pins Smooth Silver Plates

These tubes are pretty dead neutral to my ears, and they make things sound BIG! This is in my system at least, so I shouldn't say they will do this for everyone... I notice a taller image using these tubes, so if you have big speakers, these "may" make the artist's seem like superheroes in front of you. Pretty cool, and I think a fitting tube for Klipsch guys.

These have a bad rep for being microphonic, so I wouldn't put these in a preamp. They are quiet in my amps over here, and if you have any problems with them, just let me know, and I will get it taken care of, no problems.

Test very good on my TV-7

    2200/2300

2600/2300  Minimum is 1600, avg new is 2400, so these are well in the good  :)

    Thanks for looking

  5. Pull the hard drive out and take it somewhere. The guys that work on these things have recovery software if they need to use it, and success is very likely.

Dangerous stuff there man. Light switches blowing out could possibly mean massive electrical wiring issues are in your future. Just hope all your joints throughout the house are very good, and you might make it out of this with minimal damage.

My best man, and get everything checked out very good. Your insurance should cover most of it.

  6. $150 for the pair, shipped CONUS.  SOLD!!

They don't get nicer than these. Artisan Labeled Siemens Chrome Plate 12AU7's.

Perfectly matched, test better than new tubes, and have ZERO microphony. Some very quiet tubes. Matching date codes. Considering how delicate the print is, it is well intact.

These tubes are not your average 12AU7. If you think 12AU7 tubes sound mediocre, these will be the cure. Lively, dynamic, focused, dimensional, plenty of air, yet they are never strident or become tiresome to listen to. These are fantastic sounding tubes, and up there with the best 12AU7's.

    Test:
    2650/2650
    2650/2700     Avg new is 2500

    Thanks for looking

  7. The best Ncore mousetrap that is available right now IMO is the Nord. The One Up version provides an input board that allows you to roll opamps or even discrete opamps. I listened to the monoblock version for a long time in my system recently, and they sound terrific. Not near as dry sounding as other class D amps I have heard.
