  1. I remember hearing every splinter of wood when the book of Eli bluray demo disc was put in. Picking up my pair of lascalas hopefully this weekend from Billy! Power Detail Emotion is how we live friends!
  2. Thanks guys on my way to lascalas and an anamorphic lens panamorph uh480
  3. Since the price had been dropped to 1500 I would rather not make as long of a drive since it would need to be worth it to me at this low of a price I am willing to drive up to 1 hour away to meet someone.
  4. I could meet you somewhere if you are interested.
  5. I also second that notion. 7.2 is exteu immersive with dedicated channels. I tried out 9.1 before completing my theater and I didn't care for it. A well setup 7.2 system will outperform any of these other configurations. When I completed my they are undecided on just a 7.2 system and couldn't be happier. In Dolby Atmos. It seems these systems are better in a very large Room. I you must try it out I would wait until you see it with Dolby Atmos content first.
  6. Ill post a detailed response tomorrow on what I was told via a panamorph rep.
  7. RG I spoke I detail to a rep at panamorph for about an hour. For every detail of information I could think of call me (pm me your #) and we can talk about it I'm free tomorrow buddy
  8. These might answer your question http://youtu.be/2NkqMDUPUJg Exactly tasdom that is what I was trying to find clips for.
  9. Erikill I sent you a PM yesterday not sure you have seen it though.
  10. Yes Depending on the type of lens you order (there are vertical and horizontal) it is stretched and then corrected by the lens in place to appropriately represent the ratio at a 2.35:1. Of course the directly didn’t’ film it this way but it would look correct via our screens I have seen this done and I have to say it make it very nice. It does add some brightness and utilizes the dead space pixels also when using 2.35:1 or 2.40 content as well. no more zooming in other words you just have the lens move into place via the motorized sled or manual one and everything is nice and neat within the screen that is what I have come to understand via all the threads I have read on anamorphic lenses. The main advantage being that with 2.35:1 content we are getting the best pic possible no matter what type of projector we use. Even the 4k content will work with the lens since it just corrects the aspect ratio etc etc and also there isn’t a ton of room for upgrading all the time (except to more expensive glass) since the technology doesn’t change. It’s just a well-engineered precisely cut type of glass! I have been reading about the lens for over a year but I plan to call panamorph next week to get some very very distinct details on everything before I purchase it. I’ll call you after I speak with them and again after I have it in place and had some time to play with it to give you my impressions on what they say and what I actually see working once it is in my setup.
  11. Will do bill. I'm not against the idea of an integrated.
  12. I would stick close between each line within the reference series as possible. It isn’t a 100% requirement and you will still have a great sounding setup using the reference line, but I would pair up RF42 towers with RS62II surrounds or anything to that extreme. That being said most of these close to each other should sound pretty decent. Welcome to the forum!
  13. Having purchased the Two JTR subwoofers I needed to purchased XLR male to female cables to go from my processor to my subs. When I put the order in this morning I decided I might as well go ahead and replace my other interconnects (I’m ocd and I like things consistent darn those details!). I now have all 9 XLR interconnects on the way and thus decided to sell my RCA interconnects. I have 8 Audioquest Quartz interconnects each and every one in excellent shape/condition. 4 pairs and or 8 cables. I will sell them individually (per pair) or as a group just make me an offer on what you are looking for. 1 pair is (.5) meters the rest are 1 meter pairs. Also up for sale I have two Audioquest Sub-3 cables with DBS. One is 3’ and the other is 6’. The battery on each DBS is still new and works flawlessly. Make me an offer on either as I won’t need these any longer either since I use XLR sub cables now. one of them has a Factory Audioquest terminated y cable. The other one has an AQ y splitter that matches the same quality of the Sub-3 cable down to the braided covering and all. Purchased from Audioquest. I am also up for trades as I’m looking for a pre amp and amp preferably 2 channel to power my soon to be purchased lascalas from a forum member!!!!
  14. I have a 132” stewart screen currently and planned to use the UH480 horizontal stretch for 16:9 content projected on my 2.35:1 screen. I currently use THX ultra 2 KL-650s which actually have quite a large sounding soundstage and compliment the 132” screen quite well. In the next house I have every intention of going with a larger close to 300” screen with a Sim2 projector and an AT screen with either pro cinema speakers or Triad Platinum’s but that’s not for at least another 3-4 years when we move to Denver. At that point I may consider a different lens but for now I have my sights on the UH480. How do you like using your lens? Honest opinion over just zooming in and out and having all content playable on your screen?

  18. O Yeah I have been an AVS member for along time I just wanted to get some input from a few members on here as I have more of a close friendship with people on this forum and this is the one I feel I belong to but I like AVS as well. AVS is great for info I read on there all the time but this is more of a close community with great people. Thanks for the input though I like rounding out the fine details where I can so I hope this addition (lens) will be an interesting one to work with.
  19. Bringing the Jetta? I love German automobiles! Lol. Jk
