After the gtg I have been discussing options with a couple other forum members to use something like you had while visiting.
Bubo described a way I could get setup although I did not have my tape recorder going lol my brain is much to small to remember lol
I have been in an online music server frenzy now for about 9 days lol I have streamed online for over 5 years although only for live music
So hooking pc to receiver via Y cable what route is best for me to go? Thank you all for help getting my dense skull to learn something lol

I also have Pandora right off my tv I could use...and my blue ray player has a free trial...actually I believe my tv has a free Pandora trial as well since its only 2 months old. Id just like to try one of these get-ups

This gathering did seem to open a few senses. I went back to tubes on mains..
About a year ago I ran tubes on all channels except subs. I found it to be an expensive experiment even with economy amps(due to the space they took up and heat they produce I sold and lost about $250, which is not bad although). mains on tubes is what im finding best with subs on solid state, surrounds off whatever your amp or receiver allows. It is all individual taste. There was a 5x about 5watts tube amp on ebay for surround sound claiming to be the first tube amp for surround sound and had a price of about $400 the last I remember...I didn't consider it much...I did run 6&7.1 using 2 yaqin 10L's for front 3 then knight 724's on rear back and surrounds. It was nice just awkward space and heat...and I found unnecessary
You may find it tops...My first tube amp I ran on rear surrounds about 5 years ago.

It seems near every night as I doze off Frazier speakers are on my mind. Im serious. Then you Mallette end up on my mind for some moments lol sorry about this haha because of your being involved with Fraziers as far as i have read about them
anyhow I need to get me some Frazier speakers...This truly seems to be a stepping stone in my audio life, or at least 1 of the several I have identified to this point in time.
That wu80 guy had a hook up on some...maybe I need to get in touch with him...

depends on if the buyer likes oak or not. i hate oak 2 pair walnut just sold on ebay for 3 grand and it took awhile

And quite a few have sold for about $1k. none were 1990
The pair of 1980 went for $3k had crites crossovers. the other pair of 85's went for $3500 were near mint
Selling I would start out at about $2250 but they will likely sit etc...
I have been watching to buy for 2 years. 1990's oak I have seen sell for $800 up to about $2250 in the last year+ All were original&near or excellent condition

There are false corners too. They are quite big.
On topic...1990 khorns imo may be ready for some work on the networks, yet maybe not...After a demo, if possible id offer $1k unless they sound and look really good start out at $1100 or 1200 by the way the khorn market seems to be atm...depends how big of hurry seller is in moving them

How does a phantom center work anyway?
The avr will send all the info to the fronts. I run a phantom with Cornwalls and you can't even tell it's missing a center. It's like 2ch music how the voice is in the middle. Same thing.
So just set the receiver to stereo? Or is there an actual setting for a phantom center?
The last time I used phantom center I went to my receivers on screen display and there was an option somewhere there for a phantom center. Not sure if that's how it is on others. Phantom center does work. imo a good option that is often overlooked

I wondered the same thing. Walnut may ad a few bucks...oak or black seem to be a bit more common. As the years pass 5.5's are becoming more and more rare, especially in good+ shape. I know of a couple different people who bought their kg5.5's new(and 1 in particular who bought his used) and have never bought another speaker or still use the 5.5 in their primary system...nobody throw stuff at me but I find the 5.5 to be as good or better than reference speakers in most or some uses. Very good home audio speaker

well, I just bought my mom a pair of RF-15s last week and scored ANOTHER pair of RF-15s(also cherry) for my roommate today.
If this sub is still available by the end of the week, I'll go get it.

Seems like economically audio gear is not selling so fast/well atm...heck offer him a hundred dollar bill....then maybe meat at about 125...$150 is a very good deal imo...
I will say an 18" sub is quite the show stopper in most/many situations...This will weigh at least 100lbs I imagine and will barely fit in the average car...It will be a keeper by the looks of it...the 12&15 of this model were awesome some time ago. I actually wish I still had them both. I sold to try other subs...Id have to put a value of about $325-350 on this velodyne if in working order...possibly a bit more...still a good deal at $275 imo...As well as opusk if this were local or closer to me I would not hesitate a demo of it for about 15 minutes or so and if it sounds good grabbing it...id almost just offer $100 cash&carry with no demo...even if the amp were blown it has a good sub(check the surround, I believe it is foam) and if the amp were good that's a very good amp...the cabinet is just a bonus...if its 100% working order that's a steal...that model was actually fairly durable

I agree with all that's been said.
Get a demo of them regardless. $400 is not bad for the kg5.5 although like Gnote said even if he is firm on price try to bargain with him. imo with other deals around(depending on your location) I would keep right at $325 for 5.5's, not saying kg5.5's are not a $400 value, the fact for about another $100 you may find some chorus or cornwalls or larger klipsch(lascalas or something for a couple or few more hundred $)depending on the amount of space you have...good luck on your hunt!

I have to agree. get a demo of it first and if it sounds good id pay asking price. If it were local to me I would demo then grab it....$150 is a great price imo

I like the way the "Baby Cornwalls" are using the "daddy Cornwalls" in the first photo, as a makeshift wall/floor reinforcement for the rear bass port, which they need.
Is they how you guys listenened to them? Otherwise the bass is weaker up on stands like the other shot.
So did they live up to their hype, or was I barking up the wrong tree when I did the mods?

They were very impressive !!They were playing with Jims ampandsound and Jasons Table Tuba and I was thinking that's alot of quality sound from such a small attractive package. I actually had to walk up and make sure it wasn't the Cornwall's playing and those are some really sweet Cornwall's.
Well, it's the ultimate compliment from a guy with the biggest horns Klipsch ever made!
There is no doubt the baby cw design is mighty impressive. Iv owned many heresy. My preferred out of what iv kept is the tangent 5000's then kp2502C2's which are the newest version of a pro heresy. Iv tried numerous drivers and now using crites although I will be switching them back to the k42's...may have to have you do some work on a pair for a new listening room next year. The baby cw's are I would put it the most robust yet exquisite over all in a heresy sized cab. Im kinda rubbing pennies together at the moment but tried to buy that Yamaha receiver Mark brought....I really wanted to buy everything I heard this past weekend...
I absolutely cannot believe you sold them stacks! I understand you needed room and like to mod and try new things although MCM's are top choice of speakers in my opinion over anything...May not be made for a home although they sure did sound good in a home...
The most difficult thing to do in creating a Super Heresy is cutting the 4 inch hole for the port. The rest is just soldering and a woofer swap to a heavy/beefy K-42. The only portion that isn't 100 percent Klipsch is the tweeter. Currently I have the Crites and the DE-10's. I Still have 3 Super Heresy's but JimJimbo got my original pair, which he heard create massive bass without a sub because of the room size and critical placement on my part. Those, which you all heard, have the DE-120 tweets I got from Al Klappengerger and are made by Dave at Fastrac. Otherwise, it's a Cornwall 1 "B" network, which is why the sensitivity is almost the same even though it's a smaller woofer in a smaller box. You could do it yourself, really. I posted all the steps in the Super Heresy thread several months ago.
BTW, I strongly believe that ALL Klipsch speakers, even the big horns, need subwoofers. Since they all start to roll off below 50-80 Hz.
That is how Jim described them to a T and I was very pleased to hear the de-120's...very nice!. They certainly produced a new dynamic range in a heresy cabinet I had not heard. Very clean and hardy. For somebody lacking space your super H is a life saver. The super H would be a very interesting comparison next to any speaker. It was certainly a highlight with the variety of setups Jim let it be ran through. With Jason str's table tuba even with the table tuba in the center of the room the super H's were awesome. Nice design and was very nice to hear them.

I thought maybe we pack into a couple vehicles and go for a demo. Them mcm's are in that room to stay I believe...It would take some serious machinery to remove then replace them in his house...
