It sounds like I might need to look for another subwoofer, unless someone out there has the amplifier cheap. I love NW Indiana. Potato Creek S.P. is a great place to go sailing... If nothing else on up to Michigan to the Indiana Dunes.

I am not a stereophile guru. I just am wondering why this sub either flutters or hums. Maybe I'll have to take it to the shooting range for target practice! This sub was being used with a computer set up. Kenwood KA 7100 integrated amplifier. With the level at 2 and the low pass between 50 to 70 ...I get a fluttering noise. I tried tweaking things without success. I realize the sub was close to the computer, but should it be making this kind of audible noise? This had been going on for a few months (I bought the sub last year used for $50). After enough frustrations, I put the sub in the back room and hooked it up with a Pioneer Sa 7500 II and Pioneer HPM 100's....and now I am not hearing the fluttering - but a solid humming. I disconnected the wires from the amplifier and the hum continues. Because of the vintage amplifiers, I can't run dedicated sub wires to see if that will work...unless I take it to yet another receiver with a dedicated sub out. Is there something simple I am missing. I read about plugging it into the same power strip...would that really make any difference if the humming was going on while not connected to the amplifier? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Harmony08

It really did happen! These speakers are so big, sadly, I can't back up far enough in the room to get a good picture

Thank you for those who were involved with my quest. I've learned a great deal about Klipsch speakers in this garage forum. I've also gotten to know a bit more about some of you After over five months of searching and bugging some of you guys with questions, I'm now the owner of the Chorus 2's found on CL. I just passed up on some Forte 2's in great shape for $500.00 I have to stop somewhere. Seriously, I have to stop. This stuff can be addictive! What? Upgrade the crossover...oh, and go for the titanium tweeters.... If I keep going, I won't be able to afford more duct tape for this old la z boy.... and I will be sleeping in the garage with the dog...and I don't think she will let me take the speakers out there! You guys are awesome. Thanks again! Harmony08

Sad. Just missed out on some Cornwall's in excellent shape $600. I told the guy I would be there....and he sold them before I even left. I realize the $600 was a great deal and that is why I wasn't fast enough. I also don't plan on finding speakers at this price locally..... Nevertheless, I am still in the market for heresy 2's or Cornwalls..... Harmon08

I'm looking for klipsch Heresy 2 for $350 - $400 in the Tulsa area. OK City - maybe. I've found two sets for sale in Spfld, MO, but that is a 6 + hour drive to and from Harmony 08

Nice posting. Those Heresy III's are whispering my name. How sad that Houston is an 8 hour drive from Tulsa. To far to drive and too expensive to ship. I am going to keep looking.

Thanks for the replies. I've contacted the seller. Let' see what happens next.

https://springfield.craigslist.org/ele/4973962317.html these are $360 ... I am guessing this would be closer to the right price? If so, I am going to try to wait patiently until something comes up locally....Otherwise, I am in for a long drive. The Cornwalls I found in OK City for $800 are really nice, but out of my budget range - sadly.

http://springfield.craigslist.org/ele/4984936135.html I'm interested. Does this sound like the right price?

I'm in Tulsa. Cornwall's in OK City - they want $800 Too much for my budget ($350) heresy 1 in Fairfield, MO for $360 - a long drive. I am not in a hurry, but I am sure learning a great deal. Maybe I'll find the holy grail at a yard sale and make the forum members gasp!

You guys are good. I'm not an "audiophile" , but I know that I like Klipsch and appreciate the folks on the forum who have lots of patience with guys like me

These are being sold locally. I am told these are Klipsch commercial line. Therefore, I thought this would be the correct place to put this inquiry. A price has not been set yet because they are trying to find the year made and the original price. I'm told, "They are unique because they are bass reflex instead of sealed cabinets, and they have pole cups mounted on the bottoms"..... I was originally looking for some Heresy's locally...and these are what came in. I'm not well versed with speakers. Is this the heresy sound that I am looking for locally? I was just wanting some vintage Klipsch for the back master bedroom... You thoughts would be appreciated. Harmony

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/ele/4982605986.html I found this on CL. I have no relationship with the seller. I am just looking for some Klipsch speakers for a back bedroom. This will probably be too much speaker for me - unless you tell me otherwise. Speaker Works here in Tulsa, is getting some vintage "commercial" Heresies in. I 'm thinking about taking a look at these. I'm being told that the only difference between the "commercial" and residential is the cabinet finish...Does this sound right? I do not have the model numbers yet. Therefore, I can't check this information out.
