  1. I remember thinking when I had the RC-3ii.....Dang, even Youth's son has a better center than me. Now I am getting his RC-7. Big upgrade but the kid still has me beat! My TV is still bigger. hahaha!
  2. I like the way you think.... Youth was originally going to pick up an original 64 for me and found out it was a version ii....and it had the entire family of ii's with it. We changed up the deal so I could get a pair of 7ii's without putting another mortgage on the house. I would love to find a 64 to match my 7ii's one day, but I am going from RC-3ii to RC-7 to go with my new RF-7ii's and RS-35 for side and rear. I think I will survive having to settle for such a mediocre system. ;-) But if he ever changes his mind I would be happy to put a matching black finish on that RC-7. ;-)
  3. I had no idea it had 7 monoblock amps....that is sweet! really looking forward to the Parasound faceoff. You mentioned having more bottom end. Do you think that is just from having more power pushing or an aspect of the sound of the amp?
  4. I have terrible power at home and got lucky enough to score a used APC SmartUPS 3000. It is 120lb rack mount beast, but it will run my entire room including projector minus the sub. Power goes out here several times a week. Problem solved. I put a scope on it and it has good clean power with no measurable spikes when my second channel on the main line looked terrible.
  5. I went with 130" Silver Spandex screen and have been completely impressed. Mine is 16:9 with electric masking to 2.35:1. You can build that for under $200. It is AT and the image looks great if your projector has the lumens to support it. I have an Epson 8350. Look at my build thread for screen details and room pics. Also, I really like the look of the silver when the screen is not in use. It is not the eyesore a bright white screen is and the contrast is superb. http://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/143424-ht-upgrade-wet-bar-at-screen-fireplace/page-9 As far as surrounds, I have my side speakers wall mounted (one hidden above the fireplace). My rear speakers are ceiling mounted and angled down to the primary listening area. I have been very please with this setup. The pedestals just get in the way to much IMO.
  6. Thanks, I did build a fireplace during that time ;-) Still...about 2 months on the trim and air vent. That's cool about the speakers. I will be just as happy with your set if you can't find mine.
  7. Finally trimmed out the rack and got the grill on the sub tonight. I built the air vent a couple weeks ago, but by the time I took a picture the forums were down...
  8. You have a better chance of winning the lottery twice than come across a find like this. How many people in the entire world even own two sets of RF-7ii's much less the rest of it? Now take that number and factor in that person is crazy enough to leave it at the house of his ex. Youthman is officially the KING of Craigslist! Take a knee....show some respect!
  9. Absolutely! Sancho, you are 5 hours away so it is a bit more than a short drive. If you are ever heading towards Chattanooga or Gatlinburg let me know, I am on the way. I would love to meet you.
  10. Thanks for the complement Dave. I can't wait to hear them. Going from RF-3ii's to S-2 Synergy bookshelf speakers for three weeks will probably make those new RF-7ii's sound that much sweeter. Since Youthman's threads get more traffic than LAX I figured I would mention this here to solicit an answer. I posted a question on my build thread if some of you guys with RF-7's or 7ii's could help me out. Concerned that my Denon AVR-791 can't handle the load. Please answer on my thread so we don't jack Youthman's. http://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/143424-ht-upgrade-wet-bar-at-screen-fireplace/page-11 Thanks!
  11. HA! Says the man with 4 flagship systems currently in his house... Guess I am looking forward to my mediocre upgrade to RF-7ii's.
  12. If the screen wall is non-insulated interior wall you may be able to get inside the wall above the tiles between two studs. Cut a hole behind the receiver the size of a 1 gang 'old work' low voltage box and fish the wires through pretty easily. A string with a nut or other weight tied to it is easy to grab with a cloths hanger and use the string to pull all your wires at once.
  13. My only real concern is my receiver. Denon AVR791. Can it really handle this system? Rated at 90Wx7. NO pre-OUTS....I know....I know....what was I thinking? I would love to hear from someone with this or comparable receiver running a pair of 7's or 7ii's AND 7 speakers to know if it has the typical power drop associated with adding all 7 speakers to the system.
  14. I am happy to finally have the forums back up! I am stoked about what has progressed while we were all away. I sold my RF-3ii's, RC-3ii, and S-1's. My new toys are sitting at Youthman's house waiting for me to pick them up in a couple weeks. Here is what the new system looks like...Drum Roll Please! RF-7ii's (front) RC-7 (center) RS-35's (Side) RS-35's (rear) Whoo Hoo! Finally got some big boy toys. RF-7ii's are part of this amazing find by Youthman:
  15. Pretty Excited??? LOL! Understatement of the year right there my brother. I keep forgetting that I am going to the Bahamas and keep thinking of the date I am going to get my new toys.
  16. I love the 8350. Excellent brightness, contrast, black levels.... Even on a 130" silver spandex screen it has the lumens to keep it beautiful. I am impressed.
  17. That answered the question. Thanks. That's why I asked. I love the idea of the portrait gallery of some of my favorite shots, but if it is awkward then landscape shots are a better fit. I pulled the pics. If you are ever in North Alabama area message me. You are more than welcome.
  18. Thanks, If I do have these printed for Acoustic canvas then I would pick 6 or 8 of the best and make panels. I know I have better ones, but would need to pull out the backup drive for those. These are more of an example of what style I was thinking. Elegant, personal photographs. I like the motorcycle pic, but not personal enough for what I was thinking of hanging in the HT. I do have allot of landscape shots to choose from as well. I personally like the pics of my girl better...but I am a bit bias. Photography is a major hobby of mine so some of my work on the wall makes sense. I guess the question is would it be strange for it to look like the "Gallery of my wife" if you came to hang out at my place?
  19. I found the ones I was looking for. This is the style I am talking about. More portrait style. Landscape or Little Lady or fabric of some kind for the acoustic panels? (Pics Deleted)
  20. I like the cork and have considered it. I am thinking about something that looks like hardwood. The entire upstairs is 3/4 naildown oak. I am leaning towards Engineered or Laminate with the hand scrape look. I will not be using carpet. The way we use that room for football parties and youth events I don't see carpet lasting a month. With that giant bean bag I am not to worried about floor acoustics. There really isn't that much floor showing in reflection areas.
  21. Seriously.... I have seen Youth's room and it is just a shade off of my HT which is Mississippi State Maroon. Jason:As for the bike...What kind of sport bike does your Hot Wife own? I think a 500cc fits her tiny frame pretty well.
  22. Yes, that is hers. She has the GS500. Mine is a Honda Shadow 1100.
  23. Looks great Youth. Really gives it that finished look. I need to get to mine....
  24. dont believe you.... Yeah, prove it! I am leaning more towards the close up/face shots like the last two pics. (Pics Deleted) thanks for the input
  25. Well you know we love pictures here so could you post a few examples? I am leaning more towards the close up/face shots like the last two pics. (Pics Deleted) Thanks for the input
