OK OK at least I listen and I am trainable😊 That 1132 is just fine for this and the current production version of the 942 uses this driver. I can see the potential here and have a Xilica xp3060 and two Crown xli800's ready to go.

So today I decided I could not wait any more to hear these 402's you all brag about. Put some 1132 drivers on there and put them on top of the MWM bins and used the existing mid output on the MCM crossover. The difference was NOT subtle and I am in awe of the increased definition these have. I can only imagine what it will all sound like once the SMWM is complete and all the components are dialed in right. These 402's kind of overwhelm the MWM's in this configuration which surprised me.

A perfect definition of specificity. I think it is but I am not certain.

I think the ignorance being displayed are posts that criticize without offering any specificity. ..It would be helpful to the discussion if you could elaborate.
Priceless!! Another great morning and here we are again with OD the Audio Expert regaling us with words of wisdom. Ninja class buzz word salad mixed to hopefully sound good to beginners splashed with a dash of pontification dressing as the Oracle of Audio deigns to educate the knuckle draggers. Specificity...... YES he said that HAHAHA!
How many days of MDF now OD?🤣

- Spend most of your money on speakers; and
- All amplifiers that are identical sound the same.
IMO and experience, all amplifiers are not identical and do not sound the same. If a “beginner” or self proclaimed expert feels all amps sound the same, God bless ‘em. If anyone perceives differences among amps, and prefers one amp over others — as I do — you’re still OK.
This is not a serious thread it is entertainment for OD. Treat it as such and be amused.

Hmmm, so we are not talking about cheapo amps today I take it? You are a hoot OD and there is not one smug bone of superiority in your body.

@Dave A Sometimes earplugs Me too. Especially around machinery at work and home.
So do the 402s mated with K1132 get to the upper registers?
Yes or at least much higher than we can hear.

Could the base extend front and back? Maybe reversible.
Well the screw holes would be centered and it would be no problem to just flip it 180 degrees.

Possibly if there was small piece of wood screwed or glued to the back side to help support it so that it would not easily topple over.
So you think the 6" x6" base screwed to the bottom I mention is too big?

@Dave A Pretty much we are free to set things up as we see fit at Rodney's clubhouse on Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday. I don't think the Klipsch factory will be keen on you bringing the Super MWMs there, I mean to the factory. You will have plenty of volunteers to help moving those babies. I would think you will need a whole speaker system not just LF cabinets, are you thinking of bringing a top end also?
It would be at Rodney's for sure and I would not think of asking to bring these to Klipsch. I am going to also have a Xilica xp3060 + two Crown xli800's and two 402 horns with 1132 drivers.

I don't see why not. As long as it is big enough to make it stable. High freq energy coming out of a tweeter is not going to move it. Just make sure that it won't stick out past the back of the cabinet if the user is setting the tweeter back to align with the mid driver.
Well that will depend on what is needed to make the stand stable. I am thinking 6" x 6". No sense in making something to easily toppled.

Is it only a computer rendering?
Yes it is all pretend.

OK question on these. This is just a piece of wood 1.5" thick and will not stand without support. Is a simple rectangular base say 6" deep OK? Screwed to the bottom and of the same wood.

I'm summarizing the advice offered by the amps sound different crowd.
all amps and other electronics sound different and should be compared and selected through sighted and extended auditions
If that is a mischaracterization, please tell me how precisely. Is that not your stance on amplifiers, cd players, DACs, etc..?
OK buster, refute THAT one. You have had it now Dean.

Generally, we have respectful, well behaved guests. We target a more mature market. But, it only takes one.
Anything we stack or have raised will be well supported.
I am still wondering about how many speakers you are using for one venue at a time. I was told if I wanted to put sound in a restaurant for instance with four speakers, one in each corner, to flips the channels so that the right side faced the left and the left would face the right. There is an art to making things sound right in tandem.
Just read what you said about crowd size again. Maybe bi-amping and a mixer board is the answer to a changing environment. I don't know just guessing. Chief Bonehead endorses the La Scala for this and I know they get loud enough.
-
You never know what you are going to find stuffed in speakers. I had some KP260's once with holes in the back and people thought that was a great place for peppermint candy and ABC gum.

Yes and you are still subjected to the same dumbing down the USA students are by design. The nice thing about statistics is that even as standards of excellence are declining around the world one can still make the claim to be at a certain position relative to others and be right. What is ignored in passing, or due to deliberate deception, is the fact none are as good as they were. One can't possibly be as proficient at hard core disciplines when so much of the four years now involves indoctrination, affirmative action and material not relevant to the major.

We are about to fall out of being in the top 20 in general education. (Fact alert)
Better yet get an old McGuffy's Reader and see what students used to have to know. Back in the days when 2+2 still equaled 4 and you did not have to have social engineering constructs to interpret how you should get to 4. Oh and there were only two sexes. I despise current education standards and their deliberate effort to tear us down.

I wonder if there are too many speakers set up wrong and fighting each other.

I'm thinking after you hear the S MWM's you might have to wade in a bit deeper. The pool does get deeper you know.
