If I remember correctly, there's a mid and high horn AND a baffle under the front grill of the Klipschorn.  I won't go down the rabbit hole, but the baffle does much more for the mid horn than just add linearity (i.e. wave geometry).  I've owned Cornwalls, first gen RF-7s, and Klipschorns before the RF-7 iii's, and many other speakers.  The Klipschorns were the only speakers that actually gave me involuntary shivers and goosebumps when listening to great female vocalists.............until now.

Here is PWK's paper from 1963 on the development of the k-400 horn and the effect of a baffle or flange on the low end extension of the horn..

The Heresy I and II used autoformers.  Klipsch went to series resistors starting with the Heresy III.

The crossover in your Heresy IV is pretty complex.  Are you asking if autoformer(s) could be used in those?

I’d think L pads (adjustable or fixed) would be the easier solution to drop the mid and tweet output if he finds them too “bright”

Don't forget these had the K77 tweeter too. The other H1.5 you had the K76. I have Heresy' from 1982 (x) and they were true H1 (until we swapped parts) but these were from 1983 (y) and the other set you picked up a few weeks back were from 1984. Working their way through the inventory or waiting on the new parts to arrive. Either way, all good fun.

All Heresy 1 and 1.5 have rear mounted drivers and removable backs.

The K76 is a front mounted driver and did not appear until the Heresy II

    Thanks for the replies!

Add: Just got off the phone with Klipsch parts. All parts for the RF-3s and RF-3IIs are discontinued and deleted from their parts lists. So, aftermarket is my only option.

    Try emailing Support@klipsch.com

Whatever the current titanium tweeter diaphragm that klipsch uses in all those small 3 bolt tweeters should work.

A more interesting topic as I continue to peel back the onion.

Roy Delgado comment about Forte III KD15 ST passive radiator working as a replacement for KD 16 seems pretty direct.

Then I can send out the KD 16 for repair.

If you read through that entire thread, it appears that Roy meant it can be used on the FORTE II, not the Chorus II.

It may work on the Chorus II, but it's weighted less (per Roy) and will change the tuning...  For better or for worse is up to your ears.
