  1. I am running a pr of RB-600 bookshelf speakers and a SW-110 Sub from a Luxman R-115 reciever (it has separate Pre out)

All working great. But now I would like to change to an older Yamaha Int. Amp that does not have a

Sub out. It does have Pre out and Main in but with the little solid jumpers. I'd like to keep my Sub wireless if possible.

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks

  2. I got a pr. of Klipsch Tangent T5000 spkrs. with 1 blown t-75 tweeter.

Titanium diaphrams on the from Bob C.

Funny thing-the tweeter that tested OK ws hooked up wrong (+ - ). The guy I got them

from swears they have never been opened. Also both tweeters were "loose". The 3 nuts

that hold the drivers to the horns were all about 4 or 5 turns back from snug.

  3. wise man say...avoid tiger diect in general, and especially anything involving a rebate through them. I have had a few bad experiences and they no longer get my business.

    Agreed !

  4. Hello, I've owned both pairs you're considering and I would say without hesitation the T-5000 are the way to go. They're basically an original Forte but with a forward facing passive.

Can't wait to pick them up.

As far as opinions go... KG 4.5

    All. The. Way.

Been playing around with a few different sources and amps and I like these more everytime I listen to them.

  5. Hello from another Newbie,

I recently came across a pair of KG 4.5's which are sounding better every time I listen to them BUT am picking up a set of Tangent T5000's this week.

Bought them sight unseen from the original owner. I paid a lot less than most Forte's go for but I have to look at a black vinyl finish.

If I could afford them I'd get the Chorus.

  6. I hooked them up to an old Sansui amp today (35W) and what a world of difference. They sound pretty good. Next step is to check the RCA cable and then the NAD amp and preamp. Will probably get the diaphrams and check the Xover after I get the NAD problems figured out. A friend mentioned something about the difference between British and Japanese electronics - all I know is about their motorcycles.

  7. Well, I just could not resist picking up the KG 4.5's as they are in like new condition and the price was very fair. I still may get the Tangents but have not been home yet to audition these new to me speakers.

  8. Hi,

I just sold my Altec 19's because we are moving from a country home to a condo or appt. I know our new home will be a lot smaller and we'll have people a lot closer than I'd like. As a former owner of Heresys, Altecs and EV's I would like your expert opinion on whether I should get the KG 4.5"s or the Tangent 5000 speakers I have found as I am traveling across western Canada to deliver the 19's

Size, performance, and weight are more important than price.

    Any input will be appreciated.
