  1. Got mine for $1700 shipped RF7II A stock
  2. Sorry to revive my thread from November, I decided to take the plunge and at least try the Oppo 103 out. If I don't like it, I'll return it. Question: My Yamaha 1030 will handle the audio because it shares the same DAC as the Oppo 103 (ESS SABRE) but I assume that the Marvel chip will be a better processor than the chip in the Yamaha for video? Any of you know what kind of chip Yamaha uses for video processing? Thanks
  3. I just ordered an Oppo103 last night and if I don't like it, I will return it within the 30 day period. I am going to use it via HDMI. Question, what type of video processing does my Yamaha 1030 have? Proprietary or something else? Is it just as good processing as the Marvel qdeo chip in the oppo?
  4. They don't have any other products on their site in the RefII tab except the RF7II.......so what happend to the RC64II??
  5. finish would be about all I would want. Palladium can keep everything else. I haven't heard too many good things Wow Scrap, I've always been curious about that line...(never could afford) but what have you heard?
  6. This will save you a lot of time and trouble. I use something similar. This one is expensive, lol. I like to spend the big bucks lol
  7. Ok, enough said! just curious lol
  8. My current breaker never trips, my thoughts are if that I add another 1000w sub to the mix, it very well could. Again, worse case, I could run it to another room (ie:breaker). Youthman, just checked out your vids. Love it! (color me jealous) Actually, my amp and my sub are straight to the wall omitting my power conditioner due to manufacturer recommendation.
  9. I understand however, will limited power choke the subs or anything in the chain (even if it doesn't trip?)
  10. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SNI1/PAC-SNI-1.html?tp=61807&awkw=75640380625&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=47623509025&awdv=c Yes, this DC ground loop isolator
  11. Thanks all, I was just curious because of tripping breakers and such. My house was built in 2007 but I guess i could run the 2nd sub to a different room outlet. Thanks again all, you guys are always very informative!
  12. I'm thinking about a second SVS PC13 but just a little bit concerned about tripping a breaker. It's a 15 amp breaker and having 2 of the 13 ultras, plus a 1000W power amp connected to one breaker, it makes me think it will trip or not deliver the proper power requirements. Electrician gurus, chime in
  13. I agree -25 is perfect for most applications and movies
  14. Are the CM10's any better than the RF7's at the higher price they command?
  15. I use an SPL meter and most movies are comfortable with the AVR set to -27. I used the SPL meter at the listening position and it was a steady 85-87db's and peaks went to around 105-107. That's A weighted not C weighted with the sub. I find the sweet spot for MY system is anywhere from -25-27
  16. Why do you keep triple posting?

    RF-83's

I beg to differ...are you saying the 13.5" SVS PC 13 you would need to upgrade because it's not 15"? Just curious
  18. Spend the same amount of money or less, and get the better speaker rf82ii , by calling sound distributors....
  19. ^Bingo! I thought he was trying to call that last statement in your paragraph "bogus." What I posted also is that Blue jeans cable uses AWG10 or 12 Belden cable.
  20. So you are saying blue jeans cable, (which is actually Belden cable) doesn't know what they are talking about and are making "stupid statements?? Or was that directed at me for posting that?
  21. Speaker cable is a bit different from a lot of the interconnect cables we handle, in several respects. Because speakers are driven at low impedance (typically 4 or 8 ohms) and high current, speaker cables are, for all practical purposes, immune from interference from EMI or RFI, so shielding isn't required. The low impedance of the circuit, meanwhile, makes capacitance, which can be an issue in high-impedance line or microphone-level connections practically irrelevant. The biggest issue in speaker cables, from the point of view of sound quality, is simply conductivity; the lower the resistance of the cable, the lower the contribution of the speaker cable's resistance to the damping factor, and the flatter the frequency response will be. While one can spend thousands of dollars on exotic speaker cable, in the end analysis, it's the sheer conductivity of the cable, and (barring a really odd design, which may introduce various undesirable effects) little else that matters. The answer to keeping conductivity high is simple: the larger the wire, the lower the resistance, and the higher the conductivity-----courtesy of blue jeans cable---
  22. Title speaks for itself. What do you guys use? I use 12G from blue jeans. I can't tell the difference from 16 to 12 when I made the jump. Anyone actually hear an audible difference?
  23. The 64 handles bass so well that Audessey on my system tried to cross it over at 40 hz. You're not losing any meat. Again, your opinion......you know what they say about those...
