  1. Matthews, JP doesn't know this, but all 4 speakers have that black plastic wrap on them to save them from scuffing and all he has to do is peel it off to get to the wood. Oh JP, You can't use a picture of a 5 volt tube showing 6.3 on them as sandpaper to sand them down either.
  2. I don't know about what others would do, but I'd use something different than Duratex on it.
  3. This is a quick picture of the RS-3.
  4. I have even less useful skills, as I'm a mental health therapist and not an electrical guy or a painter. After you paint it, all I can do is ask you how you feel about that. I think that's about the funniest thing I have ever seen you post.
  5. JP, That is correct, but you need to understand that if you use that roller it will have dimples in the finish. You can use different rollers to get a smoother finish or add a slight amount of water. You can then use a clear finish coat on them to seal it in. I used it also on my RS-3's and it gives a slight sheen to the finish. I do like the dimples on them as well. Or you can sand them and fill in gaps and either stain them if they are a nice wood finish or just paint them with a good semi gloss or high gloss paint. I used Rustoleum black gloss on a pair of KG 3.5's, and also used the same black gloss and an epoxy finish over it on one of my turntable plinths for the piano gloss finish.
  6. where are you located? I've traveled PA, NY, NJ, and have been looking to do NC/SC and FL as well on mine. I have a SOT and SI that I use. I do salt in the SOT.
  7. Roosterfish, Bonefish, Wahoo, Tuna, Shark, Marlin, Redfish, Permit, Goliath Grouper, Peacock Bass, and Tarpon are on my bucket list. I also want to hit Grouper, Redfish, Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, Bluefish, Musky, Peacock Bass, and Striper on the fly rod.
  8. That's what we call a toad around here. Our state record is 10 lbs 14 ounces, so we don't get anything like that. This was my biggest bass ever 8 lbs 12 ounces.
  9. And then there's the other end of the spectrum.
  10. here's one of mine. and one of my salmon on the fly
  11. There were a few who got it, and they were chastised like you were. As I am not very educated in tubes, I held back my opinion. But a few who I am friendly with who got it as bad as you did and also agreed with you emailed back and forth with me. There are few on here I really appreciate and respect opinions of as they are not leaning one way or another, but just state the facts. They seem to come from the same "section" on this forum. On a separate note, my Denon cartridge is opening up more and more with music as I play it.
  12. Can I ask a stupid question? What are the 2 tonearms for?
  13. I for one am not looking at them from a monetary resell point of view. I'm looking at them from a personalized view. Not saying I would do this to them, but if something fell in my lap and I had a choice of these or beaters, I'd take these in a second. Now if I did have them, they'd be put in my room where it's already a Southwestern set up with my Cigar Indian statue, and my bull horns.
  14. A member on another Klipsch page has these speakers. I'm assuming they are his,he says they are. Thought they'd be a nice share and asked if it was OK to post. I like them.
  15. I can 2nd on the Yaqin. I have the older version of the above mentioned Integrated amp. The MC-10L. It is rated at 42 WPC and on my Forte II's I never have to go past 11 0'clock. I changed out the original Chinese tubes to the Russian made 6N1/6HN1's and can say there is a difference to my ears with them. I used NOS tubes on it. It has 4 inputs on it and when biased correctly really does a nice job with things. I also have 2 other tube amps, a SET, and a SEP, and they all do well with volume.
  16. The Audiosource (amp 100) is used for my "wides" in my living room set up which is 9.2. My receiver does 7 channels, and can do 9 with an external amp. So I picked this up on the cheap. It has an A/B switch and does the job fairly well. It can be used with components hooked directly into it. I'm noticing so far that the Denon is much more laid back than any of the other cartridges I use so far. I've probably put about 12 hours on it so far. I'm also using it on a Cambridge Audio 551P. The guy who recommended the cartridge to me uses the 651P and uses it on both outputs and said the MC side actually plays a little louder and sounds differently than with the MM side.
  17. DARN!!! Thought you left already. Good Luck with them, hope they work fine. Just make sure there's no rocks in them for weight.
  18. Wait til Jp goes up there only to see that it was a big prank I'm playing on him. I'm the actual seller and there are no speakers !!! Figure I'll wait til he's about half way there to let him know.
  19. that was me teasing JP. I'm in NJ and they are way to far for me to drive up and get them. I wouldn't chance getting them shipped either as the guy selling them would cancel the transaction once he really saw how much shipping would be.
  20. I'm your Huckleberry at those shipping prices.
  21. I would say so. Worst case scenario is that if you have a problem, e-bay will intervene and they normally lean heavily in the buyers favor. especially when you pay in advance prior to pick up
  22. well like I said, I................I mean Tyler Durden already picked them up.
  23. Shipping would still put them at under $900.00 for a pair. Isn't that still an OK price for them?
