  1. We began this morning at 8am.  It's now 8pm and we just took a break for a quick dinner.

Today we moved the LaScala Trio and Quad RSW-15's onto the platform and hooked up the speakers, Onkyo receiver and the AppleTV just to play some music while we work.

The arch, diamond patterns and side decorative pieces have been installed.  We had to move the front two can lights about 2' as it was too close to the cabinet.

We still have to add a few trim pieces to the very top and a 7" Crown Moulding to finish it off the top portion of the cabinet.

We made a cutout in the back wall for the projector.  The projector will sit between a pantry and my son's closet.

That set-up looks Sweet! I can't wait to see and hear it!

That pic of Shaun freaked me out! Lol!

  2. I chose half because it's easy for me to turn up for demos and laughing at his crazy it can get, and then right back down to half.

I turn the gain up as high as I can to get within calibration. So for instance one notch up on each channel of both amps calibrated with subs maxed out at -12. Clicked down one notch to half (which is where I like it anyways) calibrates to -11.5 in sub 1 and -11 on sub 2. So that literally is perfect for me. Then both channels are boosted up to my liking.

Yes, that would make it much easier than going into the avr set-up to make a "on-the"-fly" change, good point.

  3.

so in the end what did this addition net me? well i have both amps at 50% volume just like i have had the single one since i had it.

Are you talking about the Ch A and Ch B dials on the inuke?
    yes.

I've wondered which is preferred method for control, either through the avr or amp. I've read to max the signal input to the amps and then adjust through the avr. It can get confusing when many options for the same adjustment via different pieces of equipment in the system.

  4. The first part of our journey led us to Superdave's home. Shaun and his wife met us there. Dave is an incredible host. We arrived and Dave blessed us with some incredible hamburgers!

After lunch, he gave us a tour of his absolutely beautiful home. We then headed to the basement for several Dolby Atmos demo. Dave has nothing lacking. Meticulous cable management, beautiful comfy leather theater seats, plush carpet, powerful front sound stage and plenty of tactile bass (no need for bass shakers).

This was my first demo of Atmos and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't gimicky at all. It added a sense of realism during the rain sequence. I will definitely consider Atmos down the road after I get through a few projects.

I brought the Phantom 4 out to play for a bit before we had to leave. Lastly we met his wife and two children. Truly a lovely family and I'm grateful to have met another forum brother.

Dave, I'm looking forward to having your family over during the 4th of July weekend.

Now we are driving to the hotel. Tomorrow morning, we are headed to meet another forum member.

It was my pleasure to have y'all over, stop in anytime! And the drone is a really fun hobby, think I will get one!

Looking forward to your HT. The pressure is on to get it done, tick-tock, tick-tock...

  5.

such as a piezo tweeter at high freq.

This will eventually cease to work as many ultrasonic devices tend to. Of the units I used to sell at my place of work, about 85% of them came back within 30 days, 10% of them would be in after 6 months to report that the issue has started again. The remainder either never came back, never said if it worked, or it did work.

I have watched a video on YT about the piezo being used but they didn't state if it was really effective. Thanks.

  6. I would like to get some ideas on how to limit the barking from my neighbor's two large dogs. They bark at any and everything. Unfortunately, the neighbor doesn't have any consideration for their neighbors.

I'm looking into some type of frequency device, such as a piezo tweeter at high freq. Please keep in mind that want to keep it legal! :)

  7. If you just like to continually get new gear and spend money on it, ditch those iNukes and graduate to SpeakerPower. Performance wise you'll probably notice more doing that than adding another sub or two.
Those amps are way out of my price range.
