  1. 8 O'Clock Coffee--and a Black and Decker Grinder paired with a Bunn Drip machine works for me.

We don't drink more than 3 to 5 pots a day---Keeps me calmed down with a Halo Tribeca Vape or Banana Cream Pie taste good also.

For Speaker wire I bought some AUVIO from Radio Shack--12 gauge OFC--Very Nice and Flexible and Banana Plugs.

I don't drink so no cocktails for me.

  2. I'm surprised that stock original Hersery's had no internal damping in the same way mine has very little.

Then again--I really like the way the speaker sounds that's why I would not add any more.

I guess the damping adds to the voicing of the speaker.

  3. Yes, it's my cat--Holly.

    She can catch anything.

Yesterday she brought home two chipmunks--alive.

I caught one and relesed it back into the yard.

The other was in the house all night till she found it

under the dryer which is by the backdoor.

We blocked off the area--locked Holly in the bathroom,

opened the backdoor and the chipmunk made her escape.

I'm getting tired of chasing wild animals through the house

    In her list is

    Birds

    Chipmunks

    Mice

    Moles

    Rabbits

    Snakes--one copperhead and 3 garter

    Whew !!!

  4. The Heresy is an airtight Speaker--Acoustic Suspension?

And did I read right that it is 95% full of fiberglass?

Of course mine--like many here is a Bass Reflex design as you know.

When they damped this speaker behind the lower Mid/ Bass driver--they used

a few inches of material with air space behind it--I assume for Air Flow from the driver above it.

Then some material on the base of the speaker---the rest of the speaker is bare walls.

  5. I had to remove my drivers for having work done and got a good look

at the insides---I was surprised at what I saw.

The cabinets have good internal bracing.

The cabinets were damped in two areas

There was about a 6 inch area behind the lower Mid/Bass driver that has damping material.

There is damping material on the bottom of the cabinet---And that's all.

The rest of the cabinet is bare---I'm not planning on adding any material because

I'm not going to second guess the designers design.

I like the speakers sound--I was just surprised at the amount of material in the cabinet.

Are yours damped the same way?

  6. Many of us have a remote control that we use often.

Many show wear on the buttons we use the most.

To keep your remote looking better with use--

Take your wife's Clear Nail Polish and coat the buttons.

Use a High Quality Polish for the clear coat--Like Revlon.

  7. I have a Yamaha RX V571 that I've been using--Lot's of Bells and Whistles

and it a very nice unit- 7 channel and that stuff.

So a Month ago I swapped out my older Harman Kardon 1565

Only 5 Channel--- not so many Bells and Whistles as the Yamaha.

The Harman Kardon sounds soooo much better than the Yamaha,

at least in our set-up. Made the speakers sound more Dynamic

    and lively.

With the Yamaha--all the sounds are there--but to me not as dynamic.

So I chose-Less Bells and Whistles and went for the sound.

My unit is older and not the new digital units they sell.

It actually has a transformer in it-go figure.

    I got a new one on Amazon--so I have a Spare--for 275.

    Good Luck

  8. I can sell the Synergies for more than I paid for them

    That's not the issue....

I know the aluminum driver is the issue--that is why I'm considering

    a Dayton Audio Compression Driver.

Klipsch isn't known for using the highest quality componets

in the crossovers to begin with even though they have

the most sensitive speakers on the market.

The driver I'm looking at is very nice

and then I have my 10 dollar crossover from Klipsch.

Unlike some..I'm a senior on a Fixed income

and then there is the WAF I have to deal with.

There are some things I can get away with....

  9. I do like the sound--I just want a "bit more Sparkle" on the top end.

    Cymbals and the like.

This speaker sounds Large and Dynamic.

I thought by using a better crossover- it would open up the high end a little more.

Since you're reading this--I need a honest opinion

Can I use Reference RF3 crossovers in a Synergy Speaker?

It is built better and the RF3 Crosses at 1975 instead of the 1600

    the synergy uses.

I can't afford to buy new speakers but I can get these

crossovers for $90.  Will they make a difference?

That would be 3 crossovers for 90 and how long do the caps

    last on these?

  10. While I really like my Synergy system--I'm gonna mod them to be better.

Anyone wanting to give advice is welcome and I'll tell you what

    I want to do.

This speakers uses a 5 element crossover with

Radial Caps---Could not be Cheaper even though

they were designed for this speaker.

First I'm thinking of upgrading this with better componets.

Second ths speakers uses a aluminum dome tweeter

mated to a Tractrix Horn--I'm thinking of replacing this

with a Dayton Audio D250P-8 compression driver

with an L-pad installed since this driver has an

SPL of 104 Db with 1 watt of power.

The crossover in the Synergy is at the recommended

spot for this driver but the radial caps bother me.

I'm thinking the Horn would make the most

impact of this up grade but will it be OK with

    the stock crossover?
