  1. To The Beast... I know the feeling of what you are thinking about between the RF7's and Cornwalls.I have owned a pair of Cornwall's for the past 20 years and have had them connected to various electronics over the years.I have enjoyed them emensly. I had a flood last winter and have the choice of replaceing them with Heritage Belle's or the RF7's.I have chosen to replace with the RF7's because they to me sound much more natural, smoother, way better Inner detail, and have excellent Imageing, front to back and a huge soundstage. As far as the finish goes, they are like a fine furniture grade. My Cornwall's were not quite up to snuff.I agree, that I would pay a bit more for slightly better grills, but not a huge Issue. At the same time the 7's take up less space as well. I think you would be very happy with the RF7's for two channel music as well as a complete surround sound set up. In the next few weeks I will be auditioning the RF7's with a tube amp set (Rouge Audio 66 & 88's)from my dealer in my home prior to my final order (A complete 6.1 Refrence system).Again I think the RF7's are an easier to listen, look, and live with than my Cornwall's were. Either way,I'm glad you have choosen Klipsch,as they (both the Cornwall's and RF7's)are fine speakers. It's just a matter of preference. I hope this helps...... ------------------ -- This message has been edited by firejim on 06-01-2002 at 04:38 PM
  2. Justin...You should have a look at the Anthem AVM-20.It has all the features of the stage one, plus it is more user friendly as far as nameing your specific inputs, four complete zones, analog pass through,or partial analog pass through for dvd audio. It uses the same chip set as the stage one(motorola 56367 chip set)fm tuner, hdtv switching,192/24 bit dacs and a five year warranty. Mate this up with a Bryston 9bst and a 3bst and you would have a match in heaven for a fraction of the price.(Bryston makes a single channel amp for 6.1 as well).www.sonicfrontiers.com I am considering the stage one ,but it just does not seem quite as user friendly.also if you look at www.audioreview.com under pre/processers the ten or twelve owners give it a 5 out of 5.(plus Bryston gives a full 20 year warranty.) I have to consider the US dollar exchange rate here in Canada. just my 2 cents worth. ------------------ --
  3. DEANG...It is good to read some of your posts and opinions on used equipment. My question to you is how does your RF7's sound hooked up to tube equipment, the 7's must have awsome front to back Imageing.I had a chance to listen to the RF7's connected to good solid state (Pionner's new top Elite reciever)and they sounded great,I can only imagine what they sound like with tubes.I am considering the RF7's and possibly used tube Integreated amps as well as a surround pre/processor in my system.I was also waiting for the Heritage line to come back into production, which I see they have updated this web site with the heritage line.I have to replace my water damaged Cornwall's,with either the RF7's or the Belle Klipsch. ------------------ --
  4. leok...It is nice to see some positive attributes on the RF7's,especially achiveing the sound you are after. I have had a pair of Cornwall's for aproximately 18 years that were in a flood and am considering replaceing them with the RF7's,due to water damage. The Cornwall's were never connected to tube amps, but were connected to very high end solid state electronics...they sounded great! I have had a couple of listening sessions with the RF7's and am extremely impressed with the imageing, tonal balance, wide sound stage, and inner detail that the 7's offer. They were not connected to tube amplification. The RF7's seem to offer better imageing and finer inner detail that my Cornwall's did not produce. I wish I could have a side by side listening test that would help my decision on whether to restore the Cornwall's or to go with the RF7's.I am leaning towards the RF7's especially after reading post's like yours. ------------------ --
  5. TheEAR...I have been reading alot of your posts, and others.I understand that you have the RF7 line and other fine components.I am considering the RF7's to replace my water damaged Cornwall's.This is a topic for a new post almost, but I was not happy with my Theta Casanova and Bryston 3BST/5BST combo for strictly 2 channel music, surround 5.1 was awsome.I am now considering an Anthem AVM-20 pre/processor,and the Aragon line of amps(waiting for my dealer to get them in shortly)or possibly the Pass Labs X5(quite costly though). In addition to this,I got hooked on a small Integrated Antique Sound Lab 3.5 watt amp.I have yet to listen to the RF7's through the tube amp,but was EXTREMELY impressed with the RF7's imaging through a Pioneer Elite reciever.I definitely am going with the RF7's and tubes of some sort. I was wondering how to connect a tube Integrated amp(A/B switch) into a pre/processor set up,or whether I would get the same results(imaging wise) with a tube pre amp with a bypass switch option,(for running the pre/processor through) and just my solid state power amps running off the tube preamp? ------------------ --
  6. Pardon me guy's,but what did you replace the 3bst with,I used to have a 3bst with Cornwall,s,and it is a great amp,but at times a bit better imaging (front to back) would have been nice when listening to music sources.Just my opinion. ------------------ --
  7. Hi Guys... I am in a bit of a dilema as it all started with a flooded family room this past Dec.I have the unsightly chore of deciding whether or not to keep my Cornwall's and repair the water damaged cabinets or to replace them with the RF7's. I have been going around town and listening to other brands of speakers(Paradigm ref 100's,PMC AB2's to mention a few and Klipsch has them beat and is the brand. I have listened to the RF5's and thanks to Mark Owen(Klipsch Rep) who finally found me a dealer who had the RF7's,I went and listened and was not disappointed. The RF7's were extremely good, very smooth, large soundstage, focussed, deep front to back Imaging, plus the inner detail was something I have not heard with some of my familiar recordings, music and movies. There was a slight nasalness to female vocals, but I found out that the speakers were only at the dealer for two days prior.I went back for a second listening session a week later and that nasalness was gone. During that second session the 7's really stared to shine.I can not get over the inner detail,Imaging, and soundstage they present. The 7's seem to draw you into the music in a way that everthing is finely balanced that you do not want to leave.Very addictive. I had the Cornwall's connected to equally good if not better electronic's over the year's and they did not give the same inner detail and Imaging. If I deside to purchase the RF7's(RC7,RS7's)(I'm leaning that way),it is very hard to give up the Cornwall's after 18 years. Thank's for listening guys. ------------------ --
  8. Hello everybody... I understand that a heritage speakers would work toneally the best with the cornwall's,and the c7 is close, but is or has anybody used the new rc7 center? ------------------ --
  9. BobG...Thanks for the reply...I look forward to the release date of the updated Belle Klipsch.I will also try and find a dealer to listen to the rf7's(none want to bring in the rf7's in the Vancouver B.C. Canada area,as well I'm having trouble finding an Aragon dealer). One step at a time,I may have to drive to Bellingham or Seattle. Thanks for the history on the Belle's name...nice.A guess on the date?,and sorry about the spelling. ------------------ --
  10. Thanks for the replys...The insurance just wants to replace with a new product so that I don't have any possible future problems. That is why I am looking at new as opposed to used.I was just trying to get an opinion on the rf7's as an option.I'm sure the Bella's would sound similar to the Cornwalls.I thought the rf7's would sound as good as the Heritage line.I also thought someone posted that Klipsh was going to reproduce the Bella's,some time in Feb. Thanks. ------------------ --
  11. I was wondering what the new 2002 production of the bella klipsch might sound like in comparison to a pair of 20 year old cornwalls. Are the drivers the same, any internal wiring upgrades in the bella's?Would the sound be very similar to the cornwalls? I have posted in the home theater section on whether to go with the heritage line or the new rf7 line.I have to replace my 20 year old cornwalls with either bella's or rf7's.(Insurance purposes)asuming I can still get the bella klipsch. I tend to listen to music and movies equally. Any help would be appriciated. ------------------ --
  12. Hello everybody... I wanted some opinions on whether to go with the sound of the heritage series(cornwalls or bella klipsch).I am very familiar with the cornwall sound and know what the rc3 sounds like. Not looking at price or size(rf7 vs bella klipsch).I am unable to listen to either speaker at my dealers.I had an unfortunate accident with my 20 year old cornwalls.I listen to music and home theater equally.I will probiblly replace with new Bella klipsch or the rf7's.That's my only option is to replace.I just wanted to know if anybody has listened to either and what they prefered. My peamp/amp was Theta Casa Nova/Bryston 9bst ------------------ --
  13. Hi everybody....I just lost my Klipsch Cornwall's of 22 years to a flood, the damage is unrepairable.I was considering replaceing them with a pair of Bella Klipsh or the RF7's.Not knowing quite what either sound like, which would you recomend to replace my Cornwall's with? Please don't factor price into the equation. I will be setting up a complete home theater system as well, center, sub, and surrounds. Thanks in advance. ------------------ --
