  1. I don't recall a LSII specific plan, however there are LSI plans in several threads. There are a few differences that stand out between the two however I think the internal dimensions are very similar. You can infer much of the outer dimension by using th LSI plan and adding the extra material to the outside. There are details about these differences buried in threads so you will have to search. Searching la scala plans yielded over 100 results. As for the networks the schematic is listed with all of the other networks in one of the sticky threads.

    K77

    K55

    K33

    K401

That should supply you with plenty to read.

  2. The usual recommended AC voltage on the secondaries is between 20-25V for this chip. I used antec 22V transformers when I built this chip to push speakers from 4 to 8 ohm. Your mains power at the wall will also have an affect on the output of your transformers.

Again this is from memory, I built this chip over 5 years ago.

Are you using a pcb or wiring point to point?

Also does anyone have recommendations for an edge band veneer(preferably a stick on) that could fit the Chorus II?

I have 1 edge band veneer that is just way too far gone for me to try and fix with wood filler.  Looks hideous and needs to be replaced.

I have had very good results with Band-it veneer products, specifically the heat bond. One nice feature is you can reposition it after it is applied, which makes matching corner 45 cuts a snap.

  4. Maybe use a brush attachment on a vac. I cleaned some oxblood grills that had not been touched since some time in the 70s on some ESS monitors this way. They looked like new after. If that grill is disintegrating you have nothing to lose. After that try water, however I don't know what water does to cane.

One thing would lead to another and you would ultimately end to need a serious re-design of the system.

That is not for the faint of heart.

I assume you are disappointed with the low end response of the La Scala. If that is the case, I would simply invest in a couple of modestly priced sub-woofers and take your time in integrating them into your system

A nice horn sub is easy to build and not very expensive. This will get the bass where you want it and sound amazing. If space is an issue a long style horn sub pointed at the ceiling will work well.

  6. Some blue ray players have "audio" settings. They will filter the life out of music of they are set incorrectly. I have a yamaha blue ray player that has these options only one setting sounds correct. It would default back to the filtered setting occasionally and I would have to set it back. That player has been demoted to the bedroom system and I replaced it with an erc-3. Much happier.

You're new here.  You don't know the half of the incredible deals that Mr. Youthman finds.  And he seems to come up with these things over and over.  He has more luck finding deals than all the rest of us put together.

Nowdays if someone on this forum finds a pair of Klipshorns for a hundred bucks and upon pickup the owner insists we take all his tube amps as well, we don't refer to that as a "deal"

    It's a "Youthman Deal."  :D

Haha, well if another deal anywhere near that good comes up don't bother posting to alerts, just PM me!

Any reason why you didn't go with the cherry finish? IMO they match your room decor/color scheme much better, have a higher quality look (especially with the grilles off) and would add that additional high quality piece of wood furniture in your space.

I have always loved the cherry and mahogany finish on speakers but I purchased this 11 Piece RF-7ii System from Craigslist for $2000.  I wasn't going to pass on that deal because they weren't my preferred

Good grief, that has to be the holy grail of klipsch scores on Craigslist. Nice job!

  9. Very nice, I too recently exchanged my ct125 for de120s though I used a different waveguide. I have not had much time to listen recently but my initial observations point to a Definite change in detail and depth. I like the mid horns, are they DIY?
