    What I Got Today!

Look at the ad for the Heresys, He has already done a bunch of Bob Crites mods to them, like 400 bucks worth. Says he replaced both the tweeters and crossovers. So 600 bucks is not a bad deal. I recently picked up a Set of Heresy's, 1983 in oiled oak for 280.00 in great shape, missing the risers. Added crossover kits myself, about 50 bucks for the parts. I would still like to upgrade the tweeters. Tweeters with shipping is about 230. Total investment will be 560 by the time I'm done and I'm still missing the risers. So I think that 600 bucks is more than a fair deal. The only reason I'm hesitant about investing more in these is the resale value. I don't like to go under water when I'm upgrading my audio gear. Seeing someone balk at 600 for those speakers is a perfect example. Now if I had only paid a hundred bucks for them, they would have new tweets in them already. BillWojo
  2. Hamilton is right outside of Tenton. Most folks in Brooklyn don't drive, actually most folks in NYC don't drive so Hamilton might as well be on the other coast. There are trains and busses to get you there but I couldn't imagine carrying a set of Heresy's onto a train. There must be some audio dealers in NYC that carry Klipsch. By the way, I picked up a set exactly like them about a month ago for about 100 bucks less. Same year, 1983, same oiled oak finish but without the risers. Mine are in much, much better shape though. They are out there but being stuck in the city makes it hard to chase down the deals. BillWojo
  3. Hi, I'm new here, first post. I just got done rebuilding a nice set of 1983 Heresy's that are oiled oak with the cane grills. They came without any risers. I kind of like the angled risers. Now my question, do they just sit on the risers or are they screwed on somehow? Thanks BillWojo
