Thanks Pete. Im anxious to hear the RB 5s. I enjoyed the fun of moddimg my Polk rta 8ts snd then having a pro mod a pair of sda 2Bs. Upgrading caps and tweets do make a difference, but you never get back in a sale. I chalk it up to the cost of the hobby. A member here is giving me good price on the 5s, so off to a good start. I know a guy who lives in Jackson. Served in the Army with him.

I do love accurate. My current B&W monitors are extremely accurate. Some dont like the aluminum dome nautilus tweeters, but i love em.

I do appreciate the offer and om not completely against it. As far as cars go, i broke down and bought a Challenger RT Classic...lol. Im gonna catch it for this remark, but it could be quite possible that i will not care for the horn. Wont know till i try right? Baby steps

Unfortunately, my room is almost square. Approx 18 x 18 with 12 ft vaulted ceilings. Carpeted with cloth sectional and cedar wall on one side. Not too bad for reflections, but do get standing waves in some spots.

Addictive, i know. I appreciate the offer, but im in no way ready to purchase LaScallas, Klipschorns and the like. Even if i fell in love couldnt pull the trigger. Kind of like listening to Magicos at the local high end shop and going, wow, awesome, but ill never own em.

My modded SDA 2Bs were 91db i believe. 6 ohms. Great speakers but very placement picky. Had Parasound 1500a powering them and they could still stand more.

I cant spend that coinage on speakers right now. I am sure they are dynamite and obviously a bookshelf speaker wont have the output, but that is really not the droids i am looking for

Certainly did not mean to offend. Its just been my experience between the two traditional floor standers and bookshelfs. That said, i have zero experience with horns, so i have no reference point.

Yes, been down the rabbit hole a bit. Been on the Polk forum for five years now. Learned a lot, modded a few speakers. Good group over there too.

Dayton, Ohio area. I understand your point on floorstanders, but ive found clear mids and sparkling highs to be more prevelent with monitors. Im not looking to move a lot of air and do a majority of my listening at low to medium levels.

I prefer how booksheles image. Have had best results on my gear with monitors, good stands paired with two musical subs.

Ive run through quite a few different bookies. Dali, Totem, B&W, Mirage, Polk of course, but have not had horns yet.

Ha! I think I would take 21 pts and MSU. They might not score 21 between them!
